Chapter 1055: Old Four Must Not Be Allowed to Call the Police

~4 min read 784 words

Fu Fu Fu Yanwei stood in the courtyard holding the radio, his face burning with pain.

He was truly both angry and anxious.

Angry that his own wife, thinking herself clever, tried to cause trouble for Old Four's wife, only to be outmaneuvered by the couple, making her lift a stone only to drop it on her own foot—a move that was truly high.

It left him with no way to voice his bitterness.

And anxious because that dead woman had caused such a huge incident, yet still hadn't returned; a week's time was given for him to get the radio ticket, but he knew Old Four's character very well—if he couldn't produce a new radio as compensation by then, he'd likely have to pay double in cash.

He looked at his own son, who was mixed in with a group of children: "Jinze, where is your mother?"

Fu Jinze pointed outside the main gate: "Mom went out; she said she was in a good mood today and went to buy me something delicious."

No sooner had these words been spoken than Hao Yanhong walked in, humming a tune.

Everyone in the courtyard turned to look at her.

Hao Yanhong's smile froze on her face: "Why are you all looking at me?"

Upon seeing the radio Fu Fu Fu Yanwei held in his arms, her eyes went blank.

After glancing at the children in the courtyard, she quickly formulated a response: "Why aren't you listening anymore?"

Fu Fu Fu Yanwei simply watched her, wanting to see what she would say next.

Being stared at by so many people made Hao Yanhong uncomfortable: "What is wrong with you all? Why aren't you speaking?"

As she said these words, she felt extremely guilty.

Fu Fu Fu Yanwei, seeing her keep pretending with him, asked: "Did you enter Old Four's room without permission?"

Hao Yanhong wanted to deny it, but seeing the children in the courtyard staring at her, she feared losing face.

She raised a hand to brush aside the stray hair by her ear and gave a forced smile: "They were clamoring to hear the storytelling, so I went into Fourth Brother's room and brought the radio out. What's the problem?"

Before Fu Fu Fu Yanwei could say anything, Liu Chuxue walked out from the room: "Besides a plate of candy missing from the table, a bankbook and one hundred yuan are also gone. Mom, this is no small matter; Yan Cheng and I are preparing to call the police."

Hearing that the police were to be called, Hao Yanhong immediately screamed: "You're lying; I never saw any bankbook or money."

The moment she said this, everyone in the courtyard turned to look at her.

Liu Chuxue spoke coldly: "How does Second Sister-in-law know there is no bankbook or money? Could it be that you rummaged through the cabinets in my room?"

At this moment, Hao Yanhong also realized her mistake, knowing she had spoken out of turn: "I didn't; don't wrong me."

Liu Chuxue withdrew her gaze from her: "Yan Cheng, go call the police; say a bankbook and one hundred yuan were stolen from the house."

Fu Yan Cheng, naturally, would do whatever his wife said: "Alright, I'll go right now."

Liu Chuxue then turned to Fu's mother: "Mom, it would be best for everyone in the family to check their own rooms for missing items; when the police arrive later, everything can be handled together."

Seeing Fu Yan Cheng walking toward the main gate, Hao Yanhong was so frightened that cold sweat streamed down her face; she hurried a few steps to Fu Fu Fu Yanwei's side and grabbed his sleeve: "Fu Fu Yanwei, stop Old Four quickly."

Fu Fu Fu Yanwei, however, took the opposite stance: "Since things were stolen from the room, of course we must call the police; you should hurry back to our room and check if anything is missing too."

Seeing Fu Yan Cheng about to exit the main gate, Hao Yanhong was nearly frantic: "Fourth Brother, wait a moment."

Fu Yan Cheng, with one foot already outside the main gate, turned to look at Hao Yanhong: "What is it?"

Hao Yanhong did not answer her brother-in-law Fu Yan Cheng's question; instead, she looked at Liu Chuxue, whose face was cold: "Fourth Sister-in-law, could you have mistaken something? Look again carefully; don't let a misunderstanding arise."

Liu Chuxue had only been bluffing her; seeing she still wouldn't confess, she shouted at Fu Yan Cheng: "Don't delay; go quickly."

As Fu Yan Cheng turned to exit the main gate, Hao Yanhong's face turned deathly pale: "Fu Fu Yanwei, Old Four must not be allowed to call the police."
