Chapter 1088: Taking Zhui Feng Home

Liu Chuxue did not refuse; Xiao Fu tied the two large bundles to the rear rack of the bicycle, placing one on each side to balance the load.

Seeing it was getting late, he said, "Fu Yan Cheng has returned to his unit. Would you like to stay for dinner before going back? Besides, Zhui Feng hasn't returned yet."

Liu Chuxue shook her head and said, "No need. I should be back at work tomorrow. I've been busy these past few days; I'll just grab a quick bite when I get back and rest early."

Before long, Zhui Feng came trotting back. The moment he saw Liu Chuxue, he acted like a child who had found his organization, wagging his tail to show her goodwill while whimpering as if to complain.

Liu Chuxue squatted down, patted its head, and said, "Alright, I know you've been wronged. I'm taking you home right now."

As if it understood, Zhui Feng's barks instantly became much more cheerful.

Xiao Fu, standing aside, silently watched this scene. Although he had seen such things before, this was the first time he had witnessed Zhui Feng complaining; a wave of emotion swept through him: This dog has become sentient.

Xiao Mu, perhaps realizing the impropriety of today's events, was helped out by Chunxiao and said, "Liu Chuxue, everything we said earlier was just angry words; please do not take them to heart. If Zhui Feng hadn't knocked Chunxiao down, we would not have spoken so rashly in our anger."

Liu Chuxue pointed to the bundles on the bicycle's rear rack and said to Zhui Feng, "Get on."

Hearing the command, Zhui Feng leaped up in a flash.

Liu Chuxue turned and sized Xiao Mu up from head to toe, saying, "Seems moving to the city has improved you quite a bit; you've even learned four-character idioms."

In fact, the words were full of sarcasm. When she went to pack her belongings, Chunxiao had been holding Xiao Mu's hand, teaching her again and again how to speak later so she would not remain angry with them.

After all, Chunxiao was well aware that if the second sister, in a fit of anger, stopped managing the household, life from then on would surely be difficult.

However, Liu Chuxue would not fall for their tactics. Besides, Xiao Mu was nearing her due date, and she did not wish to draw unnecessary trouble to herself: "Rest assured, it's no big deal; I won't hold it against you. I'm taking Zhui Feng away right now; from now on, it will no longer consume your food ration."

She emphasized the last few words quite heavily.

Ever since the Xiao family moved to the city, Liu Chuxue had transferred her household registration from the factory's collective register to this place: "Dad, give me the household register. I'll find time these days to transfer my registration."

Upon hearing Liu Chuxue's words, Xiao Mu wanted to say something, but she opened her mouth and ultimately said nothing.

Xiao Fu knew this was a major matter, turned, and went into the courtyard.

Before long, he came out holding the family household register: "Keep it safe. Don't forget to obtain the permit for transfer first before coming here to register the move-out."

Liu Chuxue nodded: "I understand."

After putting the household register away, she said, "Then I'll be off now. You two should go inside and rest."

Fortunately, the bicycle was a women's model, so she could simply step over from the front, saving Zhui Feng the trouble of getting down.

However, the sight of one person, one bicycle, and one dog was simply too eye-catching. Before she had ridden far, Liu Chuxue realized it, since someone had been staring at them, causing her to nearly crash into a tree: "Zhui Feng, get off the bike and run alongside me for a while. Hearing the command, Zhui Feng hesitated not at all, leaped straight off the bike, and followed Liu Chuxue's bicycle all the way, marking its territory as it cheerfully accompanied her home.
