Chapter 1160: Wan Qing Was Nearly Scared Stupid

~6 min read 1,006 words

Liu Chuxue slept her fill in the space, came out to check the time, saw there was still time, turned around, and went back into the space.

She first started a basin of dough, preparing to come in later to steam buns, sugar buns, and flower rolls to keep on hand.

After letting the dough rise, she ate breakfast in the space, and only then did she leave the space.

Thinking she had been away for two days and that Old Zhou, as the team leader, must have worried a great deal, and figuring they should be up by now, she went out and walked upstairs.

Old Zhou and his two disciples shared a room; they had booked a triple room.

After knocking lightly on the door, she heard someone inside call out, "Wait a moment."

Zhang Aiguo opened the door, saw the person standing outside, and said, "Liu Chuxue, you're back?"

Hearing his words, the two people inside also came over; Old Zhou spoke first: "Liu Chuxue, where have you been these past two days? Did anything happen?"

Liu Chuxue quickly replied, "Team leader, you've worried too much. I just thought that since it's not easy for all of us to come to Guangzhou, and I happened to have time, I went specifically to a fishing village to get some dried seafood, thinking to share it with everyone, so that our trip wouldn't be in vain."

Although they knew it was just a side gesture, the fact that she at least had the thought made the three of them very grateful: "Liu Chuxue, thank you so much. We didn't expect that even while you were resting, you were still thinking of everyone."

Zhang Aiguo glanced outside: "When did you get back? Where are the things? Do you need me to help you carry them?"

Liu Chuxue pointed to the first floor: "I didn't get back late last night. Thinking that Wan Qing was already asleep, I asked the receptionist to open a new room for me on the first floor, so that everyone wouldn't have their rest disturbed."

As soon as she said this, all three understood what she meant: Wan Qing was probably just looking for an excuse to cause trouble.

If Liu Chuxue had truly disturbed her rest, she might have caused everyone to lose their peace.

While they were still talking, Wan Qing inside the room seemed to hear Liu Chuxue's voice, opened the door, and stuck her head out: "Oh, Sister Liu Chuxue is back. You really have no organization or discipline; everyone was about to mobilize to go look for you."

Liu Chuxue's face immediately darkened: "Stop trying to stir up trouble where there is none, or I won't mind letting you re-experience my methods. I clearly left a message at the reception desk, yet you insist on saying I have no organization or discipline. Your mouth can't produce anything decent; I advise you to behave yourself."

After speaking, she nodded to the three people inside the room: "I'll go back and tidy up; we can talk about anything else later."

The three people at the doorway nodded in unison: "Okay."

After all, she had been away for two days and would surely need to tidy up and change clothes; they could understand.

After speaking, Liu Chuxue turned and walked toward the room she shared with Wan Qing; as soon as she approached her own bed, she discovered her belongings had been rummaged through.

Liu Chuxue turned around, grabbed Wan Qing by the collar, and said, "Who told you to go through my things?"

Wan Qing initially tried to make excuses, but after seeing Liu Chuxue's freezing gaze, she quickly tried to cover up: "It's just that the other day when I saw you hadn't returned, I wanted to check if you'd left any note; I didn't mean to."

Liu Chuxue didn't indulge her; she had already warned her before, and it seemed she hadn't learned a single thing. She raised her hand and gave her two slaps: "When you touched my things before, I already warned you. I didn't hold it against you because I didn't want to affect everyone's mood. Don't think I'm afraid to touch you."

After being hit, Wan Qing let out a loud "Aaah!" and shouted, "How dare you hit me? I'm calling the police!"

Liu Chuxue wasn't afraid at all: "Fine, then let the public security bureau investigate. Why did you steal my terminology glossary the day before the exhibition started? What was your purpose? Were you sent by hostile forces from across the sea?"

Her words were heard perfectly by the crowd outside the door, who had rushed over upon hearing Wan Qing's screams.

Team Leader Zhou's expression was very ugly; the hand he had raised to knock stopped in mid-air. Then they heard Wan Qing's voice from inside the room: "Don't talk nonsense. How did this get dragged into hostile forces? I just couldn't stand you and wanted to make you lose face."

"Lose face? Who am I? What are we here for? If we truly lose face, is it just my own face? On a small scale, it's the face of our factory; on a large scale, it's the face of our nation. You really are ignorant and fearless. Do you know what the Canton Fair means to our country and what it means to our factory? Yet you dare to sabotage it?"

As she spoke, she slapped him twice more across the face: "Day after day you do nothing worthwhile. How do you have the face and the courage to say such shameless things? For your own personal grudge, you disregard the factory's interests and the big picture. A person like you doesn't deserve to have a job."

With one big accusation after another coming down, Wan Qing was nearly scared stupid. She shouted in defense: "I'm not, I didn't, I never thought that far. You can't just throw accusations at me like that. Are you trying to ruin me?"
