Chapter 1216: I Am Your Man; I Can't Wait to Present the Very Best to You
Fu Yan Cheng entered the courtyard and asked, "How is it? Are you tired?"
Liu Chuxue looked at the neatly organized courtyard and said, "It wasn't too far to begin with; don't worry, I'm not tired."
Seeing a lounge chair placed under the osmanthus tree in the yard, she asked, "Where did this lounge chair come from?"
Fu Fu Yan Cheng smiled and said, "Didn't you say before that placing a lounge chair under a tree in the yard, brewing a pot of tea, and reading a book would be very pleasant? As it happens, someone in Baifu Village knows rattan weaving, so I had them weave this lounge chair for you. How is it? Is it what you wanted?"
Liu Chuxue's face was full of smiles; the feeling of being held in someone's heart was truly wonderful. "It looks very good. Help me try it out."
Fu Yan Cheng helped her approach and said very seriously, "It's fine. If it's uncomfortable, I'll have him make another one according to your requirements."
Liu Chuxue sat down with his help. "It feels quite good. When the sunlight shines on me, drinking fragrant tea while reading a book, nothing could be more beautiful."
Seeing the laundry sink against the wall, she said, "You're too good. How did you think of building a laundry sink in the yard?"
The last time she came, it seemed there was no such water basin.
Fu Yan Cheng nodded. "I saw Commander Zhang's family build one before. Sister-in-law found it very convenient to wash clothes in the basin, so I made one too. Try this height and see if it suits you?"
Liu Chuxue didn't need to get close to know it was very suitable; it was clear this fellow had put his heart into it. She looked up at the man still smiling foolishly there. "Thank you."
Fu Yan Cheng reached out and embraced her. "I am your man; I wish I could present the very best to you. Your satisfaction is the most important thing."
Saying this, he pulled her toward the kitchen. "I've also renovated the kitchen. See what still needs improvement, so I can have it renovated again before you officially join the army, striving to make you satisfied."
Liu Chuxue saw that he had used prefabricated panels to build two levels. "Where did you find the prefabricated panels?"
Fu Yan Cheng hugged her from behind and rested his head on her shoulder. "I got help from the logistics department to acquire them."
The words were simple, but Liu Chuxue knew this man must have owed quite a few favors. After all, prefabricated panels weren't something one could buy casually at present; one needed a certificate from the unit and the street office, then applied for purchase with the materials department, and could only buy them based on quotas for cement and other materials. Recently, the army had no infrastructure projects, so one could imagine how much effort it took.
Fu Yan Cheng teased in a low voice, "You aren't moved by me, are you?"
Liu Chuxue wrapped her arms around the man's muscular waist. "Fu Yan Cheng, you are so good."
Fu Yan Cheng didn't expect such a benefit. Holding her, he coaxed gently, "You are my wife; if I don't treat you well, who should I treat well? Besides, you work in the city, so naturally I must put in more effort. Only if you are satisfied with all the conditions here will you think of coming over more often to accompany me on weekends, won't you?"
Liu Chuxue naturally knew this man wasn't lying, but the fact that he could think of so much truly moved her. "Now your wish is granted. Once I settle the work matters, I will come to the army with you, so all your effort won't be in vain."
Fu Yan Cheng's face was full of joy. "I can finally look forward to it."
Just as the two were being affectionate, someone screamed, "A dog! There's a dog!"
Hearing the scream from outside, the two finally remembered that Zhuifeng was still in the car.
Liu Chuxue pushed Fu Yan Cheng away. "Quick, quick, quick! Don't let Zhuifeng scare anyone."
The reason Zhuifeng wasn't let out of the car was that there were many people over there; first, to avoid scaring anyone, and second, because this fellow Zhuifeng wouldn't let people touch him, to avoid causing unnecessary trouble. Thus, they left him in the car first, planning to bring him into the yard only after the crowd dispersed.
Who knew someone with meddlesome hands would open the car door.
