Chapter 1242: It's Not That I Don't Want to Keep Her, But I Simply Cannot

Deputy Factory Director Gu had just left with his team when Director Chen from the factory office hurriedly rushed in.

He had even forgotten to knock on the office door: "Factory Director, good news, truly great news."

Director Chen had gone out early that morning to order some items for the factory's reception task the day after tomorrow, so he only arrived at the factory afterward and did not yet know that Chuxue had already resigned.

Factory Director Yang was just about to call his superiors when he heard Director Chen's voice and couldn't help but frown, saying, "What great news?"

Director Chen shook the newspaper in his hand: "Our little hero has made the newspaper, complete with a photo. How is she so capable?"

Before Factory Director Yang could react, Director Chen had already placed the newspaper in front of him and pointed with his finger to the substantial article, saying, "Look how vividly this photo was taken. This girl truly is a young calf unafraid of the tiger, daring to undertake such a dangerous task. However, this is also the very thing I admire most about her; when there is a problem, she truly steps up."

He kept praising her nonstop by himself, yet paid little attention to the Factory Director's expression.

When he had spoken until his mouth was dry and throat parched and was just about to go pour a glass of water, he finally noticed the Factory Director's unusual state: "Factory Director, what is wrong with you?"

Factory Director Yang raised his hand and wiped his face: "I may have caused a disaster."

Director Chen looked utterly confused: "Caused a disaster? What disaster?"

Factory Director Yang raised his hand and pointed to the photograph printed in the newspaper. Two photos were printed in total: one showed Chuxue holding a lasso, soaked all over, throwing the lasso into the sea; the other showed her on a boat lassoing a person, forcefully swinging the person up and tossing them onto the boat. Regardless of which one, both were shot with great uniqueness, clearly taken by a professional.

He never expected that because of his mistaken decision, not only had the factory lost talent, but most importantly, the higher authorities would certainly inquire about these matters, and what followed would be the issue of him bearing responsibility. Thinking of this gave him a sudden headache. No, he could not just sit and wait for disaster.

So he urgently dialed a number: "Help me transfer to *****."

Not long after, someone on the other end picked up the phone: "Hello, who is calling?"

"Director Qin, it is me, Xiao Yang."

Upon hearing it was Factory Director Yang, the other party said: "Oh, Xiao Yang, why are you calling? Is it about my Ruoyun's matter?"

"Director Qin, yes. It is not only about Ruoyun's matter; there are also some things I must report to you, which might be somewhat tricky."

"Oh, tricky? Tell me and let me hear."

"A few days ago, you knew that the higher authorities wanted Factory Director Xiao Chuxue to serve as the accompanying translator for the Italian foreign business delegation. Ruoyun happened to be here with me, so I wanted her to go try and accumulate some experience. However, unexpectedly, due to lack of experience, the client, Miss Anna, was very dissatisfied. The Department of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade approached the ministry because of this matter. Upon learning of this, the ministry leaders became furious and immediately called the factory, notifying us to send Xiao Chuxue over immediately to handle the situation."

"But coincidentally, Xiao Chuxue had just returned from the Canton Fair and was on vacation. She was supposed to go over as soon as she came to work today, but unexpectedly, as soon as she arrived at the factory, she processed her resignation..."

He was just about to continue speaking when the other side interrupted him: "Regardless of the situation, stop her first. Let her complete this translation task assigned by the superiors before she leaves."

After hearing this, Factory Director Yang let out a heavy sigh: "It is not that I do not want to keep her, but that I simply cannot keep her."

"Why?"

"There are several reasons. I think the most important one is that before her vacation, I had someone from the factory office go over and deliver a secondment notice, which caused her to feel dissatisfied."
