Chapter 1248: The Situation Might Be More Serious Than We Thought

Factory Director Yang had not yet figured out how to reverse the negative impact when Secretary Jiang hurried in: "Director, it's bad news. People from the newspaper office have arrived and want to see Xiao Chuxue."

Factory Director Yang frowned and said, "She has already resigned. You should handle them directly. Do you need me to teach you how to do your job?"

Secretary Jiang's face looked very grim: "But that female reporter simply wouldn't listen to anything I said. She insisted that such a selfless person could not possibly resign just after returning to Beijing normally, and demanded to enter the factory to understand the real situation."

Factory Director Yang slammed his hand on the table: "Is she crazy? This is a rolling mill, not their newspaper office."

But the moment his words fell, he heard from outside: "Factory Director Yang, what a mighty display of power!"

Factory Director Yang turned to look at the doorway and saw his direct superior: "Leader, why didn't you notify me in advance? I could have gone to the main gate to welcome you."

The visitor's face was cold: "If I had notified you in advance, how could I have seen your display of power?"

Hearing these words, Factory Director Yang immediately broke out in a cold sweat: "Old Leader, I just lost my temper for a moment."

The visitor sat down on the wooden sofa: "The Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade has been urging us. I am here today to understand the reason for Comrade Xiao Chuxue's resignation."

Factory Director Yang looked troubled: "Old Leader, did you hear some idle gossip? Before this, I..."

But before he could finish, the leader raised his hand to interrupt him: "Factory Director Yang, do you know the seriousness of this matter? The Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade has called. If Miss Anna does not see Xiao Chuxue tomorrow, they will cancel their upcoming itinerary. You had better tell me the truth. I do not believe someone who acted bravely in the face of danger, disregarding personal safety to save lives, would disregard the overall situation like this."

Factory Director Yang wiped the sweat from his forehead. Knowing that some things could not be hidden, he recounted everything that had happened in detail, of course not forgetting to mention his helplessness and his subsequent remedial actions.

The moment he finished tremblingly recounting the events, the leader slapped the table, stood up in anger, and pointed at his nose, scolding: "What do you consider the power in your hands? What do you consider the national interest? Merely tools for your scheming?"

After scolding him, he looked at Deputy Factory Director Gu at the door: "From now on, you will take over the factory's work. Factory Director Yang's thinking is very dangerous. Suspend all his current duties."

Hearing these words, Factory Director Yang staggered and had to lean on the table to steady himself: "Old Leader, listen to me."

The leader did not even look at him, but pointed at Deputy Factory Director Gu: "You accompany me for a walk around."

After speaking, he also ordered everyone accompanying him from behind to stop.

Deputy Factory Director Gu had just returned from Liu Chuxue's place and reported on the Guangzhou Public Security Bureau and the Ministry of Railways presenting awards to Liu Chuxue. The leader's face showed an expression of frustration at a piece of iron that would not become steel: "A good trump card, and he played it into a mess. The Ministry will likely soon become the laughingstock of other departments."

Thinking of that young lady from the Qin family, the leader was even more furious: Fine, someone has to take the blame for this. Since it was for the sake of the Qin family's daughter, then let the Qin family bear the responsibility.

Deputy Factory Director Gu accompanied the leader on a tour of the factory. After understanding the situation almost completely, he left the factory with his entourage without looking back.

Factory Director Yang had never lost face before, but since the leader had spoken, even if he wanted to explain, the leader gave him no chance.

But how could he be willing to accept this? After dismissing everyone, he immediately made another phone call: "Director Qin, it's bad news. The Old Leader just arrived at the factory. The situation might be more serious than we thought..."
