Chapter 1270: Little Girl, You Can't Just Claim a Dad at Random

~4 min read 731 words

After Liu Chuxue returned home, she went straight into the space; she didn't want to cook for anyone, thinking only of eating the stored food inside the space.

Having run about outside all day, she was indeed a bit hungry; she took out a portion of ribs stewed earlier and ate them with rice she had steamed herself a few days prior, feeling completely satisfied.

She felt her taste had become quite strong these past few days, wondering if it was related to the baby in her belly?

After finishing her meal and tidying up, she thought she would digest while going to check on the various plants she had planted earlier.

This space was truly magical; whether from the south or the north, everything planted here could survive, and all grew with vibrant vitality, so that as she walked, her eyes were filled with light of surprise.

The tea trees she had planted earlier showed the most obvious growth; it seemed she would only need a few more days before she could harvest some to make tea.

Thinking about living in the family compound in the future, brewing a pot of tea produced in the space, pairing it with small snacks she made by hand, and getting herself a reclining chair—how pleasant that life would be; just thinking about it was beautiful.

While she was intoxicated in the space, Fu Yan Cheng's mood was far from pleasant.

He and Guo Zhanrong had barely reached not far from the canteen when they heard a very childish voice: "Dad."

At first, he thought it was some comrade bringing a child to eat at the canteen, but after taking only a few steps, he saw a little girl running toward them, shouting continuously: "Dad."

The little girl blocked directly in front of them, looking up at Fu Yan Cheng: "Can you be my dad?"

Fu Yan Cheng immediately frowned: "Little girl, you can't just claim a dad at random."

No sooner had he spoken these words than tears appeared in the little girl's eyes: "But I just want you to be my dad."

No sooner had she finished speaking than someone ran out from under the tree shade not far away: "Xueyan, how did you run all the way here?"

Only then did she see the person standing before her daughter: "Yan Cheng, what a coincidence?"

Fu Yan Cheng's face was cold: "Why are you here?"

Ding Runlan brushed back her hair, which had been blown messy by the wind: "I came to visit my cousin, but I didn't expect to meet you."

Those words might fool others, but they couldn't fool Fu Yan Cheng; he didn't want the slightest connection with the person before him: "This is the only path I take to the canteen; isn't it normal to meet me?"

He turned and pointed toward the direction where her cousin lived: "Don't tell me you haven't even remembered the direction to your cousin's house?"

After speaking, regardless of her reaction, he lifted his leg, bypassed the mother and daughter, and said to Guo Zhanrong at his side: "What are you still standing there for?"

Guo Zhanrong hurriedly followed: "Commander, who is that woman's cousin?"

Fu Yan Cheng gave him a warning look: "Put away your gossiping heart, and from now on, if that woman comes looking for me, block her for me every time."

Guo Zhanrong felt he had eaten too much of the commander's gossip today and feared the commander might silence him, so he quickly raised his hand and made a zipping motion across his lips.

Behind them, the little girl looked up: "Mom, the person in the photo is him, right? Why won't he be my dad? Second Aunt said he originally could have been my dad, but Mom you lost him, but today we found him, so why..."

Seeing someone approaching, Ding Runlan quickly covered her daughter's mouth to stop her from speaking further: "Your Second Aunt was talking nonsense; you can't just say such things at random in the future, do you understand?"

As she spoke, she glanced at Fu Yan Cheng, who was already striding away with his long legs; when her man had just passed away, there were people who urged her to find Fu Yan Cheng, but the entire Geng family was watching her every move; how could she have had any chance?
