Chapter 1284: Your Speed Is Truly Fast

With the boost from the spatial spring water, after a few days the vegetables in Liu Chuxue's courtyard were already beginning to nearly surpass Mo Ruhua's vegetable garden next door.

Thinking that by the time Fu Yan Cheng returned from his mission, the leafy greens planted in the courtyard would be ready to pull and eat.

The house was now almost tidied up; tomorrow afternoon she would have to return to the city, and the day after that she would go back to the village with the Xiao family. She didn't know if Fu Yan Cheng could make it back in time to return with her.

Just as she was thinking, Mo Ruhua walked in through the courtyard gate: "Sister-in-law, what are you thinking about? You're so absorbed."

Before Liu Chuxue could reply, she said with a look of envy: "Sister-in-law, your vegetables are raised so well. I've only been away for two days, yet your courtyard's vegetables look like they've completely changed."

Mo Ruhua worked at the city library; sometimes, if her unit had matters to attend to or the weather was bad, she wouldn't come back to the family compound side.

Liu Chuxue pointed to a small pile of fermented, odorless fertilizer left intentionally in the corner of the vegetable patch: "Aunt Ding from Baifu Village helped me exchange it with the villagers. It was fertilizer they had composted themselves after last autumn's harvest, with a little left over for planting autumn vegetables. I traded for it."

Mo Ruhua didn't catch on immediately: "Then won't they need it for planting autumn vegetables?"

Seeing Mi Mengmeng's expression, Liu Chuxue suddenly laughed: "That family is very diligent. They said they would compost more fertilizer right away. Since it's hot, composting goes fast, so it will be just right to use when planting autumn vegetables. They even said they would bring some more to me then."

Liu Chuxue washed her hands at the laundry basin in the courtyard: "Come, let's go inside and sit for a while. I got some tea leaves; I'll brew a cup for you to taste."

After the two entered the house, Mo Ruhua took a long while before speaking: "Sister-in-law, what do you think about transferring my city job and finding another one here at the family compound?"

Hearing the question, Liu Chuxue said: "Everyone has different thoughts; this depends on what you feel in your heart."

Even though their relationship was very good, she did not plan to get involved in this matter. If things went wrong later, the other person might blame the one who gave the advice.

Mo Ruhua sighed lightly: "True. Mainly, running back and forth is simply too troublesome. My mother and the others are urging me to have a child, and I've become a bit annoyed with them."

Mentioning the urging to have a child, Liu Chuxue instinctively touched her belly. This child truly loved her mother; it had been nearly two months, and besides occasional dry heaves in the morning, it hadn't troubled her mother at all.

She had originally planned to wait until the three months were up before saying anything, but since the other person asked, it wouldn't be right to hide it. It seemed Deputy Company Commander Shen's mouth was indeed quite tight; only a few comrades close to Fu Yan Cheng in the unit knew about Liu Chuxue's pregnancy, and Fu Yan Cheng had specifically told them to keep it secret for now.

Liu Chuxue nodded with a smile: "Yes, I am pregnant, but my great-aunt told me to wait until the three months are up before telling others. You must keep it secret for me."

After Mo Ruhua's joy, her face turned to envy: "Your speed is truly fast."
