Chapter 1382: Mother-in-Law's Care
Liu Chuxue did not expect that not only Fu Yan Cheng had returned, but also her own mother-in-law.
She stood up with a face full of joy: "Mom, how did you come here?"
Fu's mother put the things in her hands aside and looked Liu Chuxue up and down: "Not bad, not bad. Except for the belly showing, there hasn't been much change. It seems my grandchildren will be considerate."
Fu Yan Cheng quickly reminded: "Mom, let's talk inside the house about whatever you have to say."
Fu's mother ignored those things, pulled Liu Chuxue into the house: "Come, let us two women go back and talk; let Yan Cheng handle the other matters."
Liu Chuxue, with a face full of smiles, pulled the person into the house: "Mom, you must have been very busy these past days?"
Fu's mother felt a warmth in her heart. Of her four daughters-in-law, besides the eldest who met her on the street that day and told her to take care of her health, only the fourth daughter-in-law was considerate of her: "Indeed, I was so busy my feet didn't touch the ground, but the busiest time has already passed."
After entering the house and taking a seat: "I heard from Xiao Wan that you haven't been as sleepy as before recently, but you have morning sickness?"
Liu Chuxue was also quite helpless: "Yes, others get morning sickness a month or so into pregnancy, but for me, it only started when I was almost three months along. Fortunately, I just can't stand the smell of stir-fried oil, and eating is unaffected, but this is strange to say."
Fu's mother stared at her belly and smiled: "The babies in your belly are here to repay kindness; otherwise, how could such a good thing happen?"
Liu Chuxue raised her hand to touch her own belly: "I thought the same. To be honest, this is the first time I've heard of a pregnancy reaction where one only can't stand the smell of stir-fried oil fumes but can still eat with great relish."
Fu's mother's face was full of smiles, thinking in her heart: My grandchildren, even in the womb, know how to be considerate; when they grow up, they will surely be no less.
Thinking of the things she brought, she stood up and pulled over a carry bag: "Inside here are defective fabrics I found someone to exchange without needing coupons. I've checked them; there are only some issues at the edges. The colors are pale, and I thought they would be perfect for making diapers for the children. After learning it was a multiple pregnancy, I exchanged a bit more. Use these first; I've already spoken with someone, and they will keep any more defective fabric for us."
She didn't expect her mother-in-law to bring so much fabric, and all of it was pure cotton with pale colors, perfect for making diapers: "Mom, thank you."
Fu's mother smiled at her: "Thank me for what? When your eldest sister-in-law, second sister-in-law, and third sister-in-law were pregnant, I prepared things for them too, just not this much. But since you are carrying multiples, I naturally wanted to prepare more."
Then she took out two bags of milk powder: "Don't be stingy with this milk powder. Your father and I will exchange for more coupons later. You are now eating for three people's nourishment; nutrition must be kept up."
Remembering something, she continued to nag: "If you have milk powder, drink milk powder first. The Physician said this milk powder is more nutritious than malted milk."
Liu Chuxue didn't mind her nagging; in her view, her own mother-in-law treated her better than her own mother. Of course, it was possible the other person was doing so because of the grandchildren in her belly, but she was also a beneficiary, so what was there to be pretentious about: "I will listen to Mom."
Malted milk was indeed too sweet and cloying; since becoming pregnant, she really couldn't drink things that were too sweet.
Before, she had been thinking that the babies in her belly must all have super intelligence, afraid that she would eat too much malted milk and turn into a sugar figure.
What she didn't expect was that among the things her mother-in-law brought, there was even a jar of dried meat: "This dried meat was brought back from the countryside by workers from your father's factory. That day he happened to see it, so he specifically avoided people and found that person, exchanging meat coupons for it."
She spoke happily, but did not notice Liu Chuxue's eyes turning red.
