Liu Chuxue smiled modestly at the praise: "With a friend like Miss Anna, I naturally had to put in extra effort, and look, it came in handy."

Miss Anna on the other end of the phone laughed heartily: "Yes, we are friends."

The driver glanced back, and upon seeing her large belly, recalled how his own wife, in the late stages of pregnancy, constantly needed the outhouse; the doctor had said that was normal. He misunderstood magnificently: "Alright."

As Liu Chuxue got out of the car, the driver kindly said: "Be careful."

Liu Chuxue acknowledged him with a sound and walked toward the depths of the woods.

The driver thought she was embarrassed, so he didn't think much of it; instead, acting like a gentleman, he lit a cigarette and looked the other way.

Liu Chuxue reached the house where the watermelons had been stored before. Seeing the same traces as before, she felt relieved.

It was during that visit that she learned from the mouth of the driver who had come to haul the watermelons that since the project there was completed and the personnel withdrew, hardly anyone came to that area anymore. She placed all the items scavenged from the underground of Yao Qidong, Qi Shufang's lover's residence, along with everything found in the homes of the few families connected to him, in that spot. Most importantly, she put the half sheepskin map into one of the small boxes. This item was useless in her hands; it was better to hand it over to the authorities. Perhaps someone capable could decipher it.

After putting the items away, she finally left the woods.

Seeing her return, the driver immediately started the car.

After getting in the car, Liu Chuxue kept thinking about how to tell Fu Yan Cheng about this. Although few people came to that place, what if it was just that lucky? If someone else got there first, she would probably be sick with regret.

They were almost at the entrance of the family compound, and she still hadn't found a perfectly reasonable excuse. Just as she frowned and got out of the car, she spotted some small antics by a few children not far ahead, and inspiration struck.
