Chapter 1426: This Time They Really Kicked a Steel Plate

As the two were talking, the fellow patient who had gone out to fetch water returned.

The two could only stop the topic; Xia Qiu stood up: "After this IV finishes, I'll go home first to feed my son, then bring over the meal."

But as soon as she finished speaking, she saw Fu Yanming walking in carrying a net bag.

Qiu Shaofeng saw him first: "Big Brother of the Fu family, why have you come?"

Hearing these words, Xia Qiu quickly turned to look at the doorway.

The person in the adjacent bed was greeting Fu Yanming: "Engineer Fu, why have you come?"

Fu Yanming pointed to Qiu Shaofeng lying on the bed inside: "I came to check on Comrade Qiu."

That person looked at Fu Yanming, then at Qiu Shaofeng: "Who are you to each other?"

Fu Yanming smiled: "He is the brother-in-law of my fourth younger brother."

Upon hearing this, that person said: "Oh, then you are indeed proper relatives."

Xia Qiu looked embarrassed: "Big Brother of the Fu family, truly causing you trouble, and you even made a special trip."

Fu Yanming handed the net bag in his hand to Xia Qiu: "Why say that? You are Liu Chuxue's closest kin; coming to check on you is only right.

How is it? What did the doctor say?"

Xia Qiu repeated the same explanation as before: "Truly sorry, making you worry."

Fu Yanming noticed someone eavesdropping outside the ward, so he raised his voice: "We've been working on a breakthrough project lately, so I haven't had time to check if you were adapting well in the workshop. I thought I might run into you someday, but I didn't expect to hear the broadcast.

I immediately called Fu Yan Cheng. He said he'd accompany Fourth Sister-in-law tomorrow. I thought I'd come first to see if there was anything you needed help with."

Qiu Shaofeng quickly waved his hand: "It looks serious, but it's all just superficial injuries. Thank you for your concern."

After chatting for a while, Fu Yanming spoke: "Your sister-in-law made chicken soup at home; it should be arriving soon."

Hearing this, Xia Qiu and her husband felt even more embarrassed: "How could we accept this? It's too much trouble for you, especially for your wife, who has to work and take care of the child. How could we cause her more trouble because of us?"

Fu Yanming waved his hand: "She's off today, and it's not far anyway."

What he didn't say was that his wife had insisted on bringing the chicken soup herself.

Just as the saying goes, speak of Cao Cao and Cao Cao arrives: "Xia Qiu."

Guo Wenjing and Xia Qiu had only met a few times, but when they ran into Fu Yanming at the supply and marketing cooperative buying nutritional products, she learned that Fourth Sister-in-law's brother-in-law had been beaten. Just then, she was stewing chicken soup on the stove, so she thought to bring a portion over.

Xia Qiu quickly stepped forward a few paces: "Sister-in-law, you've really caused us too much trouble."

Guo Wenjing patted Xia Qiu's hand: "It's quite a coincidence. I happened to be stewing chicken soup today, so I brought some over for you. Eat more nutritious food; it will help you recover faster."

Fearing they might feel burdened, she added: "Our family has eaten plenty of local specialties that Liu Chuxue brought back during her business trips. Since Liu Chuxue isn't in the city right now, I'm just looking after you a bit. Please, do not be polite with me."

There, Xia Qiu finally understood; they were repaying the favor owed to her younger sister.

It seemed the debt owed to her younger sister was growing ever larger.

The patient in the neighboring bed had been listening to their conversation the whole time, his eyes full of envy. He couldn't help but think to himself: Look at this wave after wave of people. That Comrade Xiao from before worked in the factory's personnel section; the shoulder insignia on her husband's uniform was at least that of a company-level cadre. Clearly, he was someone not to be trifled with.

And now Engineer Fu and his wife are treating this couple so well. Clearly, they are here to back up this surname Qiu fellow. That Wang Great Ming has truly kicked a steel plate this time.
