Chapter 1503: Secret Commendation

The commander had been waiting in the office for news; seeing Fu Yan Cheng return, he stood up immediately: "How is the situation?"

Fu Yan Cheng had run the whole way, extremely thirsty, and disregarding everything else, poured himself a glass of water and gulped it down before saying: "Found them, and I even overheard their conversation; they should be the same gang as those we captured before.

It seems they were previously in single-line contact, so no matter how we interrogated them, they revealed nothing else."

Fu Yan Cheng recounted the conversation he had heard: "I ordered them to guard the several exits of the village; regardless of whether they are their people, if anyone leaves the village tonight, they must be followed and their backgrounds thoroughly investigated, so that if there are any fish that slipped through the net later, we can find them in time.

Additionally, since they want to gather and discuss, we cannot move against these people yet; we simply wait until after their discussion, then begin the operation."

After speaking, he stood up: "I returned first to report to you, Division Commander, and second to request support."

How could the Division Commander refuse: "Proceed according to your deployment; strive to catch them all in one net this time."

Fu Yan Cheng rendered a military salute: "Yes."

The Division Commander said with grave seriousness: "I will contact the joint defense and public security departments immediately; they will be ready to coordinate with you at any time."

Fu Yan Cheng nodded: "Good."

Having finished speaking, he turned to leave, but the Division Commander opened his mouth as if to say something, then closed it again.

He knew the importance and danger of tonight's operation, did not want to distract him, and thus swallowed the words that had reached his lips.

Fu Yan Cheng was busy for three or four days.

When Liu Chuxue saw him again, he had a scruffy beard: "You're back?"

Fu Yan Cheng stepped forward and embraced her tightly: "Wife, I'm sorry."

Liu Chuxue immediately realized he must have learned about what happened that day: "I'm fine, you don't need to worry."

Fu Yan Cheng was truly frightened this time, his eyes red: "Wife, rest assured, this time, I will make sure she sits out her sentence until the prison floor wears through."

In previous instances, out of consideration for Sun Aichuan's sake, he had ultimately shown some leniency.

He never expected that woman, besides being ungrateful, would viciously plot to harm his wife and the child in her womb; she was truly asking for death.

Fu Yan Cheng acted quickly; on the afternoon of his return, news came through: Mi Cuifang was sentenced to seven years for multiple crimes combined.

And Sun Aichuan directly initiated a divorce.

Originally, Mi Cuifang had refused to agree even under threat of death, but not knowing what Sun Aichuan said to her, she actually relented.

Of course, when the incident occurred, the two were still husband and wife, so Sun Aichuan naturally suffered repercussions again, was directly demoted one rank, and became a deputy position holder.

Fu Yan Cheng tidied himself up, slept soundly, and was preparing the dishes Liu Chuxue had ordered when he heard Liu Chuxue say: "Do you think he might, in a fit of anger, propose to transfer out of the military?"

Fu Yan Cheng thought for a moment: "This is truly hard to say; if it weren't for his wife dragging him down, his career path should not have been too poor; he is also a person with ability and ideas, it is just a pity."

Along with the secret commendation for Liu Chuxue, the news that Deputy Platoon Leader Sun had submitted an application to transfer out of the military also arrived.

Yes, it was the secret commendation.

Based on the suspicious clues Liu Chuxue provided, Fu Fu Yan Cheng and his team completely shattered the enemy spies' conspiracy; although there was still no news regarding the items both sides had been searching for, by following the trail this time, they not only wiped out the entire network but also uncovered a large cache of hidden operational funds, amounting to fully thirty-plus boxes of gold bars.

These also indirectly bore her merit; of course, the greater merit was naturally credited to Fu Yan Cheng, and he also happened to benefit from his wife's light.
