Chapter 1703: Temporary Transfer

Fu Yan Cheng held her close, kissed her forehead, and said, "Let's go. I'll accompany you to the First Machinery Department first, then we'll head to the Houhai Subdistrict Office to find Aunt Sun."

Liu Chuxue thought for a moment and said, "That works too; anyway, mine will be ready soon."

The two tidied each other's clothes, then left the room.

Liu Chuxue said to Aunt Wei, "Move the crib into my room these next few days so the babies can sleep with me first. Wenbin will stay with you for a few days, and the couple will temporarily stay in the side rooms."

"Once the courtyard over there is cleared in a few days, we'll do some minor repairs and move to the Houhai courtyard. It's more spacious, with rooms for everyone then, so we won't have to squeeze together."

Aunt Wei smiled and replied, "Alright, I'll get it done right away."

Song Sanrui felt a bit embarrassed, thinking that he and his wife would make sure to perform well later.

Fu Yan Cheng and Liu Chuxue said their goodbyes to the couple, then left together.

To be honest, although Song Sanrui had a disability in his hand, he was someone with a plan; following Aunt Wei's instructions, he finished all the work in no time.

Seeing that the couple worked diligently, Aunt Wei was even more pleased; after all, they would be working together in the future, and she certainly didn't want anyone lazy or shirking.

Once the work was done, Aunt Wei smiled and said, "You've both had a long journey by land and sea. We have bath tickets at home; do you want to go soak and wash away your fatigue?"

Upon hearing they were going to take a bath, Gu Xiaomi, feeling a bit afraid, clutched her husband's clothes.

She had heard people mention on the bus that the bathhouses in the city were all about being completely naked and exposed in front of others, and she was scared.

Aunt Wei now noticed Gu Xiaomi's unease: "If you don't want to go, I'll boil some water later; you can wash up in your room to relieve the fatigue, though it won't be as comfortable as a bathhouse."

Song Sanrui knew Aunt Wei meant well: "Auntie, my wife is entering the city for the first time and is probably too scared to go into a bathhouse alone. Let's just wash up at home today."

"You take care of the children; I'll boil the water."

Aunt Wei didn't refuse: "Alright, then I'll go check on the three little ones."

In the main hall, Wei Wenbin was playing with the triplets, building blocks. These had been made for Liu Chuxue a few days ago by someone she had asked; besides being sanded very smooth, some parts had been painted by others.

The three little ones liked them very much and weren't making a fuss about going to Beihai Park anymore.

When Fu Yan Cheng and Liu Chuxue arrived at the First Machinery Department, Vice Minister Zhao found out immediately.

As soon as the couple started up the stairs, Vice Minister Zhao came out to greet them: "Chuxue, has the translation been done?"

Liu Chuxue smiled and said, "Yes, I didn't fail in my mission. I stayed up two nights in a row to rush the translation out. Please have someone check it for any issues."

Vice Minister Zhao took the translated document and handed it to the secretary behind him: "Hurry and take it to them so they can check for any problems."

The secretary took it and replied, "Okay."

He nodded to the couple, then turned and jogged away.

Vice Minister Zhao said to the couple, "Let's go. Sit with me for a while first; I actually have something to tell Chuxue."

After entering, Vice Minister Zhao went to pour water for the two, but Fu Yan Cheng took over: "I'll do it myself."

Since they were already familiar, Vice Minister Zhao didn't stand on ceremony with him; he pointed to the chair opposite the desk and said to Liu Chuxue, "Sit."

After sitting down, Liu Chuxue asked, "You just said you had something to tell me. What is it?"

Vice Minister Zhao finally spoke: "Here's the situation. This month, due to a dense schedule of foreign affairs activities, the demand for translators is extremely high, and we simply can't arrange everything. The Ministry of Foreign Trade wants to borrow some personnel to help, so I recommended you."

"Once they heard your name, they said they had cooperated before and agreed immediately. I just don't know if your schedule can accommodate it?"
