Chapter 1853: I Got It Mixed Up

Xiao Mu watched her son show no trace of reluctance, waved at her, and felt a bitter ache in her heart.

This was the first time they had been apart since her son was born: "Shi Tou, listen to your second sister and her husband. If you miss Mom and Dad, ask your second sister to bring you back."

Shi Tou waved at her and said, "Mom, I'm not coming back."

The car had already started moving. Xiao Mu wanted to say something more when Fu Yan Cheng spoke: "Rest assured, we will take good care of Shi Tou. We're off."

Xiao Fu also couldn't bear to part with his son, but as a grown man, he didn't say much: "Shi Tou, don't run around over there. Stick close to Fu Bao and the others."

Liu Chuxue looked at the couple and found it somewhat amusing: "That's enough, Dad. Shi Tou is a big kid now; he can take care of himself. No need to worry too much."

Having spoken, she didn't wait for Xiao Fu to say anything else and signaled Fu Yan Cheng to drive on.

She waved to the crowd outside the car and said, "We're leaving. Auntie, Uncle, take care on your way home."

The crowd watched the car disappear before finally turning their gaze away.

Xiao Nian Chun saw his second sister-in-law's worried expression and said, "Second sister-in-law, don't worry. Chuxue is his own sister; she wouldn't mistreat him."

Xiao Mu sighed: "I'm not worried about that. I'm just afraid he'll look for me when he tries to sleep at night. I don't know how much trouble that will cause."

The person she was worrying about was now overjoyed in the car: "Second sister, I want to sleep with you tonight."

Before Liu Chuxue could reply, Fu Yan Cheng spoke up to refuse: "No."

Shi Tou didn't expect his second brother-in-law to refuse outright: "Why not?"

Fu Yan Cheng was blunt: "Our bed is too small. You'll sleep with Fu Bao and the others."

Shi Tou looked at his second sister, then at his little nephews: "Don't Fu Bao and the others sleep with you at night?"

Hearing this, Fu Bao nodded vigorously like a chick pecking at rice: "We haven't squeezed in with Mom and Dad for a long time. We're big kids now."

Lebao chimed in at this point: "Right, we've grown up. We can't sleep with Mom and Dad anymore, or other kids will laugh at us if they find out."

Shi Tou had wanted to argue, but hearing this, he didn't dare speak up: "I, I... then I won't sleep with Mom and Dad either."

By the time they arrived home, it was already pitch black. When Auntie Wei heard the car, she hurried out to greet them: "Oh, you're finally back."

Liu Chuxue quickly got out of the car: "Sorry to have made you worry."

Wei Wenbin prepared to help the children out of the car and joked with a smile: "My grandma had me waiting at the door since the sun was about to set at Luoshan. She wasn't even afraid I'd freeze. Now, I probably don't even rank in my grandma's heart anymore."

Liu Chuxue laughed outright: "I certainly don't believe that."

Auntie Wei smiled and gave her grandson a look: "Exactly. How old are you? You're getting jealous now."

Just as she finished speaking, she saw her grandson carrying Shi Tou down from the car: "Oh, Shi Tou is here too?"

Shi Tou wasn't shy; he smiled and called out: "Hello, Grandma."

The adults all laughed. Liu Chuxue smiled and corrected him: "You can't call her Grandma. You have to call her Auntie, just like me."

Shi Tou realized this very quickly, raised his hand, and smiled a bit embarrassedly: "I got it mixed up."

Having spoken, he turned to Auntie Wei, smiled, and called out: "Hello, Auntie."

Such a tiny child, looking up to call out "Auntie," with such an innocent look; it was truly quite amusing.
