After parting with the village electrician Uncle Xinmin at the old house entrance, the father and daughter had not yet entered before they heard the sound of things being thrown and smashed coming from the eldest branch.

The father and daughter exchanged a glance, then hurried a few steps into the house.

Seeing them enter, Mother Liu said, "You've returned at just the right time."

Turning her head, she called out to her youngest daughter, "Chunxiao, serve the soup."

Chunxiao responded, first setting down the basin she was carrying on the table in front of her father. "Dad, wash your hands first; I'll go serve the rice."

Hearing the commotion from the eldest branch, Father Liu looked at Mother Liu. "What's wrong over there again?"

Mother Liu snorted. "What else could it be? Dongzi is making a scene with the family."

Father Liu was puzzled. "What does he have to make a scene about? If it weren't for him, the family wouldn't be in the state it is now."

Mother Liu brought over the steamed two-grain buns. "He wants the eldest couple to take him to the city hospital."

Upon hearing this, Father Liu fell silent, thinking: Previously, when Qiangzi saved the eldest couple, he borrowed money from everyone in the village, and that debt hasn't been repaid yet. Besides, he's had a falling out with the Ge family to the point of no contact, so he can't help them either. Even if the eldest couple wanted to take him, they would be willing but unable, not to mention they probably don't have the mood for it right now.

The third branch received not a penny when the family split, so they have no strength to help them. Seeing that all three were looking at her, Liu Chuxue nodded. "Then I'll return to school next Monday."

After finishing the meal and cleaning up, everyone prepared to retire to their rooms.

Now the shop had no seeds for sale.

He took a small packet of seeds from the counter and gave it to her, saying that whenever he sorted medicinal herbs, he would collect any seeds he found. The seeds in the paper packet were quite mixed; if she didn't mind, she could take them.

She naturally wouldn't mind, but she didn't take them for free either. Using her carrying basket as cover, she took out a handful of fruit candies she had stored in the space previously and gave them to the old Physician as an exchange.

Opening the paper packet, she sorted through them. There were roughly a dozen or so types, though the quantity of each seed type was not large.
