Chapter 393: Advice

~4 min read 754 words

She had originally wanted to cause trouble, but since Miss Chuxue didn't even give her a glance, recalling what her uncle had said to her before, she finally restrained her expression, glared at Miss Chuxue, and said: "Don't let me find an opportunity, or I'll make you look good then."

Her expression happened to be seen by Duan Ruirui: "This woman is sick, isn't she? We're just eating here peacefully, and she actually glared at us."

Ji Kunlan picked a piece of meat from her own lunchbox and gave it to Duan Ruirui: "What's there to fear about a glare? It won't make us lose a piece of meat. Hurry up and eat your meal."

After speaking, she looked at Miss Chuxue: "My cousin Ji Ganlan is in the Second Finance Section. If you encounter something you can't resolve, you can go find her too."

Miss Chuxue didn't expect this girl to be so straightforward; having just met her, she was treating her so well: "Thank you."

But just after saying thank you, she remembered that the Comrade Ji she had met at the hospital before seemed to be named Ji Ganlan; after all, this name was quite special, making it hard not to remember.

After eating, the three went to the water pipe to wash their lunchboxes, then returned to the dormitory together.

As soon as Duan Ruirui went upstairs, she said: "Miss Chuxue, I live right next to you. Although we aren't in the same department, if you have anything, just speak up."

Miss Chuxue was somewhat curious: "Does your dormitory house only you?"

Duan Ruirui shook her head and lowered her voice: "The person sharing my dorm is also from our Propaganda Section, named Bai Moli, but I can't get along with her, so there's basically no interaction after work."

Miss Chuxue didn't want to ask further, so she just nodded to indicate she understood.

Then she followed Ji Kunlan back to her own dormitory.

After entering the room, Ji Kunlan opened her mouth several times as if to say something, but ultimately didn't speak.

Miss Chuxue thought it must be related to the next-door dormitory, so she proactively asked: "Do you have something you want to tell me?"

Ji Kunlan walked to the door, pulled it open to look outside, then carefully closed it, took a few steps inside, and whispered: "The Bai Moli Duan Ruirui mentioned just now, stay away from her in the future; she isn't a decent person. Furthermore, if she ever tries to get close to you, you must be extra cautious."

Ji Kunlan didn't say anything more, but with just these few words, Miss Chuxue already had a clear idea: "Thank you for telling me all this."

Ji Kunlan waved her hand: "Since we share the same dormitory, that counts as a kind of fate; reminding you is just a casual thing."

Miss Chuxue took a tomato, a cucumber, and a melon out of the cabinet: "These are what I brought from home; I'll share a bit for you to taste."

Ji Kunlan didn't show the slightest disdain; she smiled, accepted them, thanked her, and even joked: "Is this considered my reward?"

Miss Chuxue knew she was joking: "Yes, I can't just get these pieces of information for free, can I?"

After speaking, both of them laughed.

At this moment, Duan Ruirui knocked on the door outside: "Kunlan, Miss Chuxue, may I come in?"

Ji Kunlan stood up and opened the door: "Why are you suddenly so well-mannered today?"

Duan Ruirui looked embarrassed: "Isn't it because a new person has moved in? I have to pretend to be a lady for a few days, right?"

After speaking, she laughed first herself.

Miss Chuxue treated everyone equally and also took out a tomato, a cucumber, and a melon: "Here, this is yours, brought from home, don't dislike it."

After speaking, she added: "I've already washed them; you can eat them directly."

Duan Ruirui smiled, reached out to accept them: "With such fresh fruits and vegetables, how could I possibly dislike them? It seems I came over for the right reason."

Afterwards, Miss Chuxue took a tomato herself and started gnawing on it; the other two, feeling envious, also took tomatoes and started eating.

As soon as the tomato entered their mouths, the flavor instantly conquered the taste buds of both, and they simultaneously gave Miss Chuxue a thumbs-up.

The friendship of young people is just this simple; their friendship started with tomatoes.
