When Wang Xinyue entered her daughter's room, the door was open: "Why do you look so terrible? What happened?"

Qi Shufang threw herself into her arms: "Mom, what should I do?"

"When did this happen?"

Qiu Shaofeng finally realized and quickly stepped aside: "Mom, if there's something, come in and say it."

Qiu Mu entered the room and went straight to Xia Qiu, handing over the ten yuan and several coupons she held: "When you leave tomorrow, go to the Supply and Marketing Cooperative and buy some things to take along."

Xia Qiu didn't take them but looked at Qiu Shaofeng.

Seeing her expression, Qiu Mu smiled and said: "This is your father-in-law's and my wish; why are you looking at him?"

Xia Qiu said somewhat embarrassedly: "Our family still owes debts; going back empty-handed when it isn't a holiday or festival won't draw any comments."

Qiu Mu cut her off: "Tomorrow your sister is getting engaged; there will surely be people helping at home. It doesn't look good for you to go back empty-handed."

Qiu Shaofeng then spoke up: "Wife, Mom is right."

Since both her mother-in-law and husband had said so, it would be wrong for her to refuse again: "Thank you, Mom; please thank Father for me."

Qiu Mu stuffed the money and coupons into her hands: "Alright, you have to get up early tomorrow, so rest early."

Xia Qiu originally wanted to put on her shoes and get down to see her off, but Qiu Mu stopped her: "You are heavy with child now; don't get down."

Having said that, she walked out.

After Qiu Mu left, Qiu Shaofeng beamed and leaned close to Xia Qiu: "Wife, Mom wants to give you face; we should just accept. Tomorrow morning, we'll go to the Supply and Marketing Cooperative to buy things first, then go back."
