Chapter 439: How Should This Be Handled

~5 min read 811 words

With the matter settled, Xiao Laoyezi Fu, full of enthusiasm, followed Father Liu around to inspect the house, both front and back.

Xiao Laoyezi Fu couldn't help but grow fond of the place: "You've chosen the site for this house well; it's not only quiet but offers an excellent view. Standing before the courtyard, you can see everything in the village at a glance."

With the previous barriers gone, Father Liu led the old master to the private plot behind the house.

The old master offered another round of praise: "Not bad. One can tell you and your wife are hardworking people. There isn't a single weed in this field, and the vegetables are growing better than those of any other family."

This was no lie; after all, these vegetables had been watered with diluted water from the spatial pool, and later with fresh water from the space as well. How could they not grow well?

Overjoyed, Father Liu said, "Chunxiao, go back and fetch a few baskets."

Upon hearing this, Father Fu and Mother Fu, forgetting all reserve, eagerly volunteered. They didn't know why, but ever since that last visit for the proposal and picking, they had truly grown to love this feeling.

Father Fu continued the topic he had mentioned before: "In the future, whenever we have free time on weekends, I'll come over to help my in-laws farm."

Mother Fu immediately exposed him: "I think you just want to come over and pick vegetables."

Having been exposed, Father Fu wasn't angry; instead, he smiled and admitted it outright.

Guo Wenjing and Zhang Yurong exchanged a glance, feeling that their in-laws were far more sincere in speaking to the parents of their future fourth sister-in-law than they were with their own parents.

Seeing the Fu family's enthusiastic support, Father Liu was naturally in a good mood.

In this good mood, all the edible vegetables in the field and the melons and watermelons planted nearby were picked. Except for those reserved for the eldest daughter, the rest were all loaded onto the vehicle the Fu family had brought.

After returning, washing up, and tidying themselves, everyone sat down and drank some water. The two families then agreed that Fu Yan Cheng could go back and file the marriage report first; once Chuxue passed her eighteenth birthday, they would register their marriage.

Chuxue did not object. In her past life, she had been too envious of the children in her best friend's family; in this life, she wanted to have a baby early and satisfy her desire to raise a child.

After seeing off the Fu family, Mother Liu only discovered the fifty yuan notes pressed under the teapot when she returned to her room.

She let out a startled cry: "Shanliang, come quickly."

Thinking something had happened, Father Liu reached them in a few steps: "What's wrong?"

Holding the five ten-yuan notes, Mother Liu gestured for him to look: "It must have been left by the Fu family."

Father Liu hadn't expected them to pull such a move. He turned to look at Chuxue, who had followed behind: "How should we handle this?"

Chuxue looked at the money: "When Yan Cheng comes to pick me up tomorrow, we'll see what he says."

Though she said that, Chuxue had already reached a conclusion in her heart; Fu Yan Cheng certainly wouldn't take the money back.

Just as Father Liu was about to say something, he heard voices coming from outside.

From the sound, it was clear there were quite a few people.

Leading the group was Bai Da: "Zhao Lamei, congratulations! Your Chuxue has really brought honor to our village."

"Yes, yes, Zhao Lamei, the good days for you two are just beginning."

"Shanliang's wife, let us take a look at the 'three rounds and one sound'."

Since the people had already spoken up, Mother Liu naturally couldn't refuse; after all, it was just a look, and nothing would be broken: "Fine, if you want to see, then see."

This greatly satisfied her vanity.

Upon seeing the items, everyone felt another wave of envy and jealousy: "Shanliang's wife, are these things meant to stay here, or will Chuxue take them with her in the future?"

Mother Liu replied directly: "Since these are gifts from the groom's family to Chuxue, they naturally belong to her. We won't keep them; we'll let her take them all with her when the time comes."

The couple had already discussed this long ago. To put it plainly, this marriage was already a case of Gao Pan; they couldn't drag their daughter down. Naturally, these items had to be taken along, so that their daughter would have confidence in her in-laws' home in the future.

The life they enjoyed now was all thanks to Chuxue; they were already very satisfied and could not possibly ask for more.
