Chapter 47: Turns out she's one with real skill

~4 min read 732 words

Seeing Liu Chuxue watching the few cowardly ones retreating, she let out a cold laugh: "What do you think?"

One quick-witted fellow, seeing the situation was wrong, quickly spoke up: "Misunderstanding, misunderstanding, we were just playing around."

Liu Chuxue figured she'd probably have to come back these next few days; if she didn't make them submit this time, they'd likely come bothering her again later. So she said deliberately: "This is the capital, broad daylight under a clear sky, and there are still bandits running about? I really want to see whether anyone actually manages this or not."

One chubby one among them laughed arrogantly: "Heh, you little brat, anyone can tell you're a country bumpkin; not big but plenty bold."

Saying so, he tried to step forward and grab her, but Liu Chuxue immediately threw him over her shoulder, and that fat man lay there stiff as a board: "Oww, mother of mine, I'm dead, young master me."

Those fellows had never seen such a scene; before, they had only succeeded again and again by relying on their numbers. Today they'd run into a tough nut. One hot-tempered street tough got fired up: "You little wench, giving you face, aren't we?"

Liu Chuxue swept a glance at him: Fine, then the next one's you.

A few steps forward, one reach out, and before those people could react, she'd already pulled him out.

Originally she'd meant to grab him by the collar and teach him a lesson, but unfortunately her own altitude wasn't enough, so she could only yank that person's arm, then delivered a three-hit combo to his belly.

Still, she'd held back her force—after all, she only wanted to give them a lesson, not actually hurt anyone.

She was an outsider; if things really got to that point, she'd probably have a hard time getting away.

Now the ringleader was scared. They'd only had eight people total; three were already lying down and hadn't gotten up, and this one had curled up like a big shrimp too. This woman was fiercer than they were.

The one who'd begged for mercy earlier stepped out again: "Heroine, please stop hitting, it really was a misunderstanding, we'll leave right now, right now."

After saying that, he urged the few standing beside him: "Quick, quick, quick, hurry up and take the people away."

The remaining few were fairly sharp; they quickly got moving.

Dragging and hauling the ones still groaning on the ground, they were about to leave.

How could Liu Chuxue let them leave like that: "Halt, who said you could leave?"

Saying so, she picked up a small stone from the side of the road and blocked it in front of them, her voice carrying a threat: "See clearly what this is?"

Fear showed on their faces, but ruthlessness and hatred hid in their eyes—every one of them was probably thinking how to deal with her.

Still, it was that kid who'd apologized earlier who spoke first: "Know, know, a stone, if I couldn't tell that I'd be a fool."

Liu Chuxue said nothing more, but right in front of them, with one forceful squeeze, the stone instantly became powder: "I don't want trouble, but I'm not afraid of it either. If you still want to make a move, I'll keep you company anytime."

It wasn't that she hadn't thought of beating them all down and hauling them to the police station, but these people's existence certainly wasn't just a day or two; she didn't believe the local police station didn't know, and there were probably unavoidable human obligations involved. Thinking it over, she let it go. In these times, protecting oneself was still the most important thing.

Better not, freshly arrived, to fall before even beginning—staying low-key was still the way to go.

This move not only stunned the few thugs on the spot, but even the few old gentlemen watching from afar exchanged glances—huh, this one really does have real skill.

The revenge thoughts the thugs had just birthed instantly dissolved into smoke. Where was this a soft, easy-to-bully maiden? She was clearly a female Rakshasa.

The ringleader was still relatively clear-headed: "Today's matter was us failing to recognize a true master. My brothers here apologize to you. From now on, we'll definitely give you a wide berth when we see you. Please, give us some face."
