Chapter 476: Chance Encounter

Liu Chuxue looked up at Fu Yan Cheng: "Then it's these two."

Fu Yan Cheng pointed to the hanging trousers: "Pick a pair of trousers to match."

Liu Chuxue shook her head without a second thought: "Forget the trousers; buying ready-made ones is no better than buying cloth to make them myself."

She really did not like the side-opening design.

Seeing she truly disliked it, Fu Yan Cheng nodded: "Fine, then later we'll go to the cloth section to look, buy a piece of cloth, and head downstairs to find a tailor shop to have them made."

The sales clerk wrote out the receipt and said with a smile: "Master Zhang at the state-run tailor shop across the way is unmatched at making trousers; you can go find her then."

After thanking the sales clerk and handing over the money and receipt, they watched her clip the money and receipt onto a clip, give it a sharp tug, and hear a 'whoosh' as the clip shot along the overhead wire to the cashier's hand on the other side.

Taking the receipt and change, the two went to the cloth counter.

At Fu Yan Cheng's insistence, they selected a piece of camel-colored polyester fabric and a piece of blue cotton cloth.

As they were paying and leaving, Fu Yan Cheng spotted small alarm clocks for sale on a counter nearby and gestured for Liu Chuxue to walk over there.

Liu Chuxue initially thought he wanted to buy something, but instead, he pointed to an alarm clock on the shelf and said: "Help me get that alarm clock."

After specifically testing the alarm clock to ensure it worked, he turned to Liu Chuxue: "Let's buy an alarm clock to put in the dorm."

Liu Chuxue glanced at the watch on her wrist: "Didn't you already buy me a watch? We don't need this alarm clock, right?"

Fu Yan Cheng fiddled with the alarm clock: "A watch is one thing, but you still need an alarm clock. Setting an alarm for when you sleep at night lets you sleep more peacefully, saving you from constantly worrying about oversleeping."

Liu Chuxue hadn't expected him to think so much about her; it would be false to say she wasn't moved.

The alarm clock didn't require a coupon, but it cost nine yuan each.

Fu Yan Cheng didn't even blink: "Write the receipt."

Just as the two came down the stairs and were discussing going to see a movie later, they heard someone call out: "Brother Yan Cheng, what are you doing here?"

Liu Chuxue followed the voice and looked over; several girls were walking toward them.

The girl in front, face beaming with surprise, said: "Brother Yan Cheng, long time no see."

Fu Yan Cheng nodded politely at her but did not reply.

The girl, not bothering to say anything more, looked at Liu Chuxue standing beside Fu Yan Cheng; the smile on her face instantly vanished: "Who is she?"

Though asked tactfully, Liu Chuxue sensed something unusual.

Fu Yan Cheng moved closer to Liu Chuxue: "This is my fiancée, Liu Chuxue."

After speaking, he pointed to the girl in front and said: "This is Qi Shufang, the youngest daughter of the Qi family from Grandpa's courtyard."

Hearing this name, Liu Chuxue's mood instantly soured: Could this woman be the one behind Ding Surong?

Thinking this, she too withdrew her smile and said coolly: "Hello."

Qi Shufang hadn't expected Fu Yan Cheng's fiancée to look so good; compared to her, the only thing she could crush her on was her background, especially since she had also heard that this girl was also a high school graduate.

To be honest, if she hadn't known she was a genuine country girl, she would have thought she was a city girl too.

Even if she tried to conceal it, the unwillingness and anger in her eyes still exposed her.

Liu Chuxue, being so sensitive, saw this display and knew her guess was right; this woman was the one who had Ding Surong harm her.

Liu Chuxue glanced sideways at Fu Yan Cheng: "I don't need to buy anything else; let's go."

Fu Yan Cheng nodded: "Good."

After speaking, he looked at Qi Shufang: "We have business; we'll be leaving first."
