Chapter 543: If You Truly Commit a Crime, I Cannot Help You

Qi Shufang was startled by Qi Xiuyan's serious expression and unfriendly tone: "Why are you yelling at me? I haven't done anything."

She said that, but her wavering eyes had already betrayed her inner thoughts.

Qi Xiuyan was now even more certain that his cousin had come here with a purpose today, and it was definitely not to see him: "You are an adult now. You must take responsibility for your actions and words. If you truly committed a crime, I cannot help you."

Qi Shufang was already panicked beyond measure, yet she still insisted stubbornly: "I haven't done anything that harms heaven and earth. Who can do anything to me?"

Hearing her unrepentant tone, Qi Xiuyan grew even angrier: "This is not our home. You are still being stubborn. Then bear the consequences yourself."

Having finished speaking, he waved at the newcomers: "I am Qi Shufang's family member. I will not participate in this matter. Please take her away."

Those words made Qi Shufang's face change: "Cousin, what do you mean?"

Qi Xiuyan was too lazy to say more to her: "As the saying goes, 'If your body is upright, you need not fear a crooked shadow.' Since you claim to have done nothing, naturally nothing will happen to you. For the sake of fairness, I must avoid any suspicion."

Qi Shufang did not expect her cousin to truly wash his hands of the matter: "Cousin, I, I won't go. Help me."

But Qi Xiuyan pretended not to hear. The disciplinary team members, regardless of how she called out, dragged her out of the office.

Even after being dragged far away, Qi Shufang did not give up: "Cousin, if you don't help me, I will go back and have Grandfather find Second Uncle and Second Aunt."

Qi Xiuyan sighed lightly: Truly stupid. At a time like this, she still speaks so arrogantly.

He turned, picked up the phone, and dialed directly for the old master: "Hello, Grandfather."

"Xiuyan, why are you calling at this time? Is there something wrong?"

"Yes. Qi Shufang is here with me. She has been taken away by the army's disciplinary team. They say she impersonated Fu Yan Cheng's fiancée when she came to register today."

"What? That rascal!"

"Grandfather, my relationship with Fu Yan Cheng is quite sensitive, and we are originally in competition. At this moment, it is not appropriate for me to appear. You know Shufang's personality. If I truly went with her, I fear the situation would be even harder to resolve."

Qi Laolao sighed. He knew his grandson's character better than anyone. When family interests were involved, he would naturally present a united front against outsiders, but when his own interests were at stake, self-preservation came first.

Thinking of that ungrateful granddaughter, he sighed heavily again: "Very well. Since she brought this upon herself, she must bear the consequences. In a moment, I will call Fu's fourth elder... no, I will just call Fu Laolao directly."

He feared that the young and fiery Huo Laosi would not give him face, since this matter was indeed caused by his granddaughter's wrongdoing. But calling Fu Laolao was different. He was naturally aware that his granddaughter had taken a liking to his grandson. Even if her actions were somewhat absurd, he should be able to understand.

The grandfather and grandson spoke briefly, then hung up the phone hastily.

After hanging up, Qi Laolao's face was black as charcoal: Truly, there is no one to ease his mind.

Previously, when that Fu boy had not yet fixed his engagement, his granddaughter had taken a liking to him, and the family naturally gave full support. But now that they are already engaged, to go after him again is truly shameful, especially in such a public manner.

His anger made his blood pressure shoot up. He took a cigarette from the pack, lit it, and took a fierce drag.

Knowing this matter could not be delayed, he had to swallow his pride and call Fu Laolao: "Hello, Bocheng. This is Shi Hai."

"Oh my, why are you calling today?"
