Chapter 555: Who Would Have Thought the Two of Them Fell in Love at First Sight

Chuxue put things down while asking back, "Do you know something?"

Ji Kunlan crooked a finger at her: "My brother-in-law came back to visit family. Yesterday both families went together to the state-run restaurant for a meal, and we happened to run into Ruirui, so we called her along."

Saying this, she deliberately paused, wanting to whet Chuxue's curiosity.

Chuxue only said: "And then you played matchmaker and tied the red thread for her."

Ji Kunlan sat bolt upright with a start: "You ran into her on your way back?"

Chuxue picked up her thermos and poured some water into the basin, dampened a towel and wiped her face: "Mm, the moment I got off the bus, I spotted Ruirui from far away, but there was a male comrade standing beside her, so I didn't go over to disturb them."

Ji Kunlan was now wide awake: "That man is my second sister-in-law's youngest brother, named Xiao Wanpeng, he works at the Municipal Grain Bureau. I had been wanting to match them up, but who would have thought the two of them fell in love at first sight."

Chuxue's face was full of surprise: "Really?"

Ji Kunlan got straight out of bed and went to look downstairs: "Sure is, look how long it's been, and she still hasn't come up?"

Chuxue laughed: "Since they've already fallen in love at first sight, chances are it won't be long before there's good news."

Ji Kunlan nodded: "Very likely. After all, my second sister-in-law's mother has been looking for quite a few matchmakers lately, wanting to get her youngest son's marriage settled quickly. Who would have thought that before she even got word, that Xiao Wanpeng had already found someone on his own."

Chuxue didn't say anything more. After all, she had no idea what the Xiao family was like, or what Xiao Wanpeng was like either, but she hoped Duan Ruirui would be happy, and that was enough.

After finishing the matter of Duan Ruirui, Ji Kunlan suddenly remembered: "Oh right, didn't you go to the army to find your fiancé?"

"He didn't have leave today. After lunch at noon, he accompanied me to get familiar with the army for a while, and in the afternoon I headed back early, so he wouldn't have to be distracted taking care of me, and end up affecting his work, which wouldn't be good."

Duan Ruirui immediately understood, and reached out to tickle Chuxue.

Chuxue's skills were quite good, but her weakness was having plenty of ticklish spots.

For a moment the dormitory was full of laughter and playful noise.

After they settled down, Ji Kunlan then said: "On my way back, I ran into Zhao Lulu. She committed such a big offense, how did she get out so quickly?"

Hearing it was about Zhao Lulu, Chuxue pricked up her ears, and thinking of that girl who might very well be her cousin, she couldn't help but start worrying for her.

Just then a knock came from outside the door, and Duan Ruirui rose: "Who is it?"

Before she reached the door, it was pushed open, and Ning Xiaoyu poked her head in: "I'm back."

Duan Ruirui waved her in: "Come in quick."

Ning Xiaoyu was still carrying things in her hands: "Wait a moment, let me put my things back in the dorm first. Ruirui, help me open the door, I left my keys in the dorm."

Duan Ruirui quickened her steps a couple, but her mouth was unforgiving: "What a grown-up, still so scatterbrained. Why didn't you leave yourself at home for that matter? Lucky I came back. What if something came up at my home and I only came back tomorrow morning? What would you do tonight?"
