Chapter 580: Then From Now On I'll Be Counting on Sister Jiang to Have My Back
Seeing her expression, Big Sister Jiang couldn't help but laugh. "That's right, don't doubt it. Because you gave them a big hand last night, Director Guo, after learning about my purchasing mission this trip, helped play matchmaker for us."
Hearing this, she finally understood what was going on. "That's great then. If things go smoothly, we can head back earlier too."
Big Sister Jiang packed up her things, the smile on her face impossible to hide. "You bet. This is my first time on a business trip this far. I was worried I wouldn't handle things well, but who would've thought—thanks to your good fortune, little sis. From now on, you're my own little sister."
Big Sister Jiang was a sincere, straightforward person, and when it came to matters she really stepped up. Liu Chuxue was naturally willing to befriend her. "Sure thing. Then from now on, I'll be counting on Sister Jiang to have my back."
Big Sister Jiang burst out laughing at that. "No problem. From now on, if anyone dares bully you, sis won't let them off first."
Then she asked about their progress. "How's it going on your end? Finished?"
Liu Chuxue smiled and nodded. "Brother Zhang's side is already wrapped up."
Big Sister Jiang's hands kept moving as she worked. "Tomorrow happens to be when the factory has a truck heading to Mudanjiang. Engineer Wang and the others are going with it. We can head over together then."
Liu Chuxue wasn't surprised to hear this. After all, Engineer Wang had been on business trips here before and had often gone with the factory's specialized masters to the 'Sheng Ji Firebrick Factory' to order refractory materials—he counted as half a professional by now.
This time, the Procurement Section was swamped with business and couldn't spare anyone to travel along, so the factory handed the task to the team leader, Foreman Wang Changzheng, and a few people from the Sales Section. Fortunately, they mostly had factories they cooperated with long-term, so there wasn't much risk—just a matter of going through the motions and signing the order contracts.
Besides purchasing refractory materials, this trip also required going to Anshan to order steel billets. But with the factory-issued procurement letter, they were just going through the motions there too.
Liu Chuxue was naturally happy to tag along and wander about. She also wanted to see these old industrial cities that had rendered such meritorious service in founding New China in the seventies, and to see what the Anshan Iron Mine—which would later be dug into a deep pit—looked like now. "Sure, we'll all tag along for a look around then. Consider it a trip."
The two were chatting when someone came to knock on the door.
Liu Chuxue opened the door and saw Secretary Zhang standing outside. "Accountant Liu, Director Guo asked me to come tell you—our factory director is back. Tonight he's treating you all to dinner in a small private room at the cafeteria."
Liu Chuxue smiled and replied, "Alright, sorry to trouble you to make the trip."
Secretary Zhang didn't quite dare look Liu Chuxue straight in the eye, and said with a smile, "No trouble at all, it's only right. Once you're packed up, just head on over to the cafeteria."
Liu Chuxue smiled and agreed. "Sure, we'll be over in a bit."
Before she could close the door, Zhang Chunsheng next door opened his, and Secretary Zhang repeated the same words to him.
Zhang Chunsheng was a warm-hearted sort. He went straight over and slapped open the door to Wang Changzheng's room. Wang Changzheng had naturally heard what Secretary Zhang had just said. "Alright, we'll head over in a bit. Thanks, Secretary Zhang."
Once Secretary Zhang had made his rounds, Wang Changzheng said to the others, "We've still got some time. Let's have a quick meeting, the few of us."
Hearing this, everyone gathered in Wang Changzheng's room. Of course the door wasn't closed, but Mi Aijun simply stood at the doorway.
Wang Changzheng first asked Big Sister Jiang and Mi Aijun about the completion of their day's tasks. Learning that negotiations were nearly wrapped up, and that the procurement task on the logistics side just needed a follow-up tomorrow to confirm quantities—latest by the day after, it could be finalized. "Alright, then tomorrow morning you all go follow up on it. Chunsheng and I will head to Mudanjiang tomorrow to lock in the refractory materials."
