Chapter 746: Your Sister Is Fortunate to Have You

Previously, Liu Chuxue had thought that since it was a planned economy with all state-owned enterprises, she hadn't even considered developing a career.

She thought that after the reform and opening up, there would be no lack of opportunities, so there was no need to take risks now.

But with this opportunity right now, she naturally couldn't let it go: "President Qin, I am a straightforward person, so I will speak directly."

President Qin raised her hand: "Speak."

Liu Chuxue thought for a moment: "In these times, either wealthy people go to the department store to buy fashionable styles from the south, but most people just follow the pattern and make them at home; in fact, only a small portion come to the tailor shop to have them made. I suppose I am not wrong?"

President Qin nodded lightly: "Very objective."

Seeing that Liu Chuxue agreed, she continued: "If you really buy this design, I am afraid that before long, others will follow the pattern and make them themselves; won't the tailor shop not even recover its costs?"

President Qin hadn't expected the young girl in front of her to be considering their interests first: "Thank you, comrade, for thinking of us right away. Since we have spoken this far, I might as well be open with you; actually, I didn't buy this design just for our tailor shop.

My second brother is the factory director of the Beijing City Garment Factory. With such a beautiful dress, if they prepare in advance, I believe their performance will certainly be good. As for our sewing society, naturally, we will start taking orders for this style of clothing only after they ship their goods next spring.

This way, neither side is delayed; after all, you are right: no matter what style it is, once it appears in the department store, people will inevitably follow the pattern to make it.

But there is a portion of people who cannot make them themselves and must ask our tailor shop to do it; plus, since we have the advance knowledge, the benefits will naturally not be few."

So that was it; it seemed one truly could not underestimate anyone.

Seeing that Liu Chuxue accepted it well, President Qin asked: "I still don't know how to address you, comrade?"

Liu Chuxue smiled: "My name is Liu Chuxue; President Qin, you can call me Comrade Xiao Liu or Chuxue."

President Qin nodded with a smile: "Good, then what is Comrade Chuxue thinking?"

Liu Chuxue coughed lightly: "To be honest, this is the first time I have encountered this situation; I don't know how President Qin has cooperated with people in the past?"

President Qin hadn't expected this young girl to be quite shrewd, but the design was truly excellent; since she wanted it, she might as well be sincere: "I won't lie to you; there are indeed precedents at the garment factory, of course, they are divided into grades. Your design naturally rates as Excellent; according to past cooperation prices, it is one hundred and twenty yuan per design."

Liu Chuxue casually asked: "Besides Excellent, what other grades are there?"

President Qin was sincerely cooperating, so naturally she did not hide it: "Those slightly inferior can get eighty yuan, and the worst can still get fifty yuan."

She knew that right now was not like the future; if you could propose a revenue share or something, getting a design fee was already remarkable.

Finally, the two agreed that tomorrow at noon, President Qin would take her to the garment factory for a face-to-face discussion.

The clothes would naturally still be made, but everything depended on the results after the detailed discussion tomorrow.

President Qin instructed someone to finish making this dress by tomorrow morning, just in case it was needed as a sample when they went tomorrow.

Liu Chuxue returned to her work unit quite late; she ate something casually in the dormitory and then went to the office.

Sister Hong entered the office and saw Liu Chuxue: "How was it? Did you find any you liked?"

Liu Chuxue smiled: "Yes, yes, yes; I chose two pieces. I will give one to my sister; besides her daily wear, when my little nephew gets married next spring, it can be used to cover his face to block the willow catkins."

Sister Hong didn't expect Liu Chuxue to think so far ahead: "Your sister is fortunate to have you."
