Chapter 863: Don't Try to Fool Me with Made-Up Lies

Liu Chuxue finished a full statement at the police station and was just about to go to the state-run hotel for breakfast.

She unexpectedly saw her future sister-in-law, Fu Yanwan: "When did you get back?"

Fu Yanwan hadn't expected to meet her own fourth sister-in-law here either: "I came back with a friend to handle some business. Fourth sister-in-law, please don't tell my fourth brother."

While speaking, she even pressed her palms together and said: "I'm counting on you, Fourth sister-in-law."

Liu Chuxue was somewhat stunned: "What's going on? Why shouldn't I tell your fourth brother?"

Fu Yanwan's heart was pounding; she thought: Naturally, if Fourth Brother knows, the whole family will know.

Glancing at the person accompanying her, she pulled Liu Chuxue aside: "Fourth sister-in-law, I came back with a friend and didn't have time to go home and see my parents. Please keep this secret for me, or I'll definitely get scolded."

Liu Chuxue looked at the Miss standing not far away: "Don't tell me that Miss is your friend and you came back with her. You'd better tell me the truth."

Fu Yanwan stammered for a long time before saying: "I came back with my partner. That girl is my partner's younger sister."

Liu Chuxue's expression grew even more serious: "From what you're saying, you came back last night but didn't go home. Don't tell me you stayed at your partner's house?"

"If that's really the case, and I keep this secret for you, your fourth brother will definitely be angry when he finds out later."

How could Fu Yanwan not understand Liu Chuxue's thoughts: "Fourth sister-in-law, I stayed at the guesthouse last night. Don't worry."

Liu Chuxue breathed a sigh of relief, thinking: This sister-in-law better not do something foolish.

Hearing Fu Yanwan say: "I found a partner at the educated youth point..."

She suddenly stopped speaking, narrowed her eyes at Liu Chuxue: "Fourth sister-in-law, did you already know about me having a partner?"

Liu Chuxue wasn't falling for her trick: "Hurry up. Don't try to change the subject."

Although Fu Yanwan was suspicious, she still whispered: "My partner is also from the city. Yesterday afternoon, he suddenly received a call from home saying his grandfather had slipped and fallen, and it was very serious, urging my partner to come back immediately to see him one last time.

He was raised by his grandfather since childhood, so he wanted his grandfather to see me. So we rushed back yesterday afternoon, and it was already late. Moreover, his grandfather's condition in the hospital was indeed not optimistic, so we didn't have time to go home. Fourth sister-in-law, I beg you, you must keep this secret for me."

Liu Chuxue wasn't falling for her trick: "Just that alone is probably not enough to make you lie. If it really were that matter, even if the family knew, they wouldn't blame you. I suspect you're hiding something else from me?"

At this, Fu Yanwan immediately froze in place: "Fourth sister-in-law, you..."

Seeing her expression, what else was there to understand? She was definitely right: "Don't try to make up lies to fool me."

Since she was marrying into the Fu family after the New Year, she naturally couldn't ignore this. Otherwise, if something really happened to her sister-in-law later, wouldn't she become a sinner? "If you don't tell me, I'll go call your fourth brother right now."

Fu Yanwan had no choice and could only confess honestly: "Actually, to reassure his grandfather, we already got our marriage certificate."

Upon hearing this, Liu Chuxue exploded on the spot: "What did you say?"

Fu Yanwan looked around: "Fourth sister-in-law, don't be angry. I know this matter is indeed improper, but..."

Liu Chuxue felt she couldn't cover this up, nor could she pretend not to know: "Xiao Wan, this is no small matter. I definitely cannot help you hide it. Even if you're unhappy, I must tell your fourth brother about this. Whether he helps you cover it up is a matter between you siblings. I hope you can understand."
