Chapter 966: Dabao Pushed Little Aunt, Little Aunt Says Her Stomach Hurts

~5 min read 811 words

They had already given people a heads-up beforehand, thinking that if Xia Qiu went into labor, someone could be sent to fetch them; they never expected the in-laws to come today.

Before Qiu Fu could give orders, little daughter Qiu Shaomei ran out: "I'll go call people right now."

It was good luck; the tractor had just finished work and returned, hadn't even entered the garage or turned off the engine, so it arrived very quickly. Now Qiu Fu, Xiao Fu, Qiu Shaomei, and Chun Xiao all got on the vehicle.

Qiu Shaocheng was about to get on the vehicle too, but An Xiaojing held him back: "So many people have already gone, you shouldn't crowd in. You wouldn't be able to help anyway. Besides, I can't be left alone here."

Qiu Shaocheng looked troubled; his wife was right, but he felt guilty about not going.

While he hesitated, the tractor went forward with a "tut-tut-tut."

Qiu Shaocheng looked at the tractor that had already moved some distance, then at his pregnant wife, and finally nodded: "Alright, then we'll wait at home."

At that moment, An Xiaojing spoke softly: "Chicken soup is still simmering in the kitchen. Go watch it, and when it's ready, serve me a bowl."

Qiu Shaocheng frowned: "That doesn't seem right."

An Xiaojing rolled her eyes at him: "Today Big Brother gave the chicken to Shaomei, meaning it's for everyone to eat. I'm pregnant and naturally craving food; I'll just have one bowl, and the rest my sister-in-law can keep."

Qiu Shaocheng didn't want to argue with his wife: "I'll deliver the rest later; it might still come in handy."

Actually, he was afraid he couldn't hold it back; the yard not only had his own craving pregnant wife, but he also needed to send a bowl to the sick Great Grandmother soon. If he didn't send the chicken soup away, he feared the elders from the First Branch would eventually come over.

An Xiaojing didn't say anything more.

Qiu Shaocheng escorted his wife back to the room, then went to the kitchen to watch over it.

As the scent of chicken soup spread out, just as he had expected, the younger generation from the First Branch gathered at the kitchen doorway.

A short while later, his own wife came over too.

Seeing the few children at the kitchen door, An Xiaojing said: "Pan'er, it's very cold today. Take your younger brothers and sisters back to the room to stay; don't let them get frozen."

Before Qiu Pan'er, the eldest granddaughter of the First Branch, could speak, she heard Qiu Dabao from the Second Branch shouting: "I'm not going back; I want to eat chicken meat."

Seeing they wouldn't leave, An Xiaojing said: "Your Aunt Xia Qiu is about to give birth. This chicken soup is stewed for her to drink. Today, I'm afraid we can't share it with you. Listen to me, don't wait, go back quickly."

After speaking, she tried to enter the kitchen to close the door.

As a result, four-year-old Qiu Dabao from the Second Branch, Qiu Shaohu's son, reached out and pushed An Xiaojing. Normally, such a small child couldn't push an adult, but An Xiaojing happened to be rushing into the kitchen, stepping on a piece of firewood with one foot while the other was still lifted.

Just then, Qiu Dabao pushed her hard again. She immediately lost her balance. With a cry of "Ah," she fell forward toward the firewood.

Fortunately, Qiu Shaocheng happened to turn and look over. Terrified, he dropped the firewood in his hands and reached out, barely catching her. Although she didn't fall, she strained her waist and pulled on her belly. In an instant, she felt something unusual below: "Ah, my stomach! Shaocheng, hurry and take me to the clinic; my stomach hurts."

Seeing they had caused trouble, the children were terrified. The youngest grandson of the First Branch burst into tears with a "Wa!"

Naturally, the parents from every household couldn't sit still and rushed out: "What happened?"

Qiu Pan'er was a few years older: "Dabao pushed Little Aunt, and Little Aunt says her stomach hurts."

By now, Qiu Shaocheng had stood up straight and held her: "Xiaojing, bear with it. I'll take you to the clinic right now."

Seeing his wife's forehead covered in dense sweat, he knew she wasn't faking it. He shouted toward the outside of the kitchen: "Hurry and find a vehicle! My wife's pregnancy has been disturbed!"

Qiu Shaohu, who had just stretched and come out of the room, immediately became alert. He had just heard his niece's words; the person had been pushed by his own son.

Although he didn't believe his own son could push An Xiaojing, an adult, that wasn't the time to discuss it. He ran out of the yard: "I'll go find a vehicle."
