Chapter 984: Daring to Turn the Tables and Call Me Stingy
Liu Chuxue felt she had truly overestimated her. "Yes, I am stingy, unlike your generosity. Mom, Dad, and I haven't had breakfast yet, and you want to take the buns away right in front of me, yet you dare to turn the tables and call me stingy. You really are something."
"I was just speaking casually; how did you take it so seriously? Besides, Brother-in-law can afford it. If you want to eat, just ask Brother-in-law to run to the state-run restaurant again. Are you even my second sister?"
As she spoke these words, her eyes were full of resentment.
Liu Chuxue could no longer bear it and needed not to endure further; she stepped forward and slapped her. "You are thirteen, not three. Can you not understand human speech?"
"And you say I am taking it too seriously? Mom and Dad haven't had breakfast, yet you take my things to curry favor, and you say 'Brother-in-law can afford it.' Do you even hear what you are saying?"
Chunxiao covered her face. "You hit me again?"
Liu Chuxue retorted directly. "I hit you because you deserve it. I warn you, if you dare make decisions about my things again in the future, I will hit you without hesitation. If you want to take my things to satisfy your vanity, don't even think about it."
Chunxiao's eyes were full of tears; she looked up and complained to Xiao Fu and Xiao Mu. "Mom, Dad, are you just going to watch Second Sister bully me?"
Xiao Fu did not expect Liu Chuxue to hit Chunxiao immediately, but he understood this was likely the second daughter's limit. "You acted without using your brain; getting hit is what you deserve."
Chunxiao looked utterly incredulous. "I am the one who got hit, yet you are helping Second Sister. You are truly biased."
In front of Fu Yan Cheng, Xiao Fu finally lost his temper. "We are biased? You are simply unreasonable."
Liu Chuxue did not expect Xiao Fu, in his anger, to even use idioms; it seemed working in the city had taught him quite a bit.
Xiao Mu also felt her youngest daughter had become arrogant since coming to the city. Day after day, she said this person treated her well, that person treated her well, but why did they treat her well? Was it not because the family had good things? She was unwilling to eat them herself and gave them all to others; of course, they would treat her well. She hadn't realized her youngest daughter was stupid before, but how did entering the city make her unable to use her brain to think things through?
She knew Liu Chuxue was truly angry this time and did not want the two sisters to continue quarreling. She stepped forward, took all the buns out of the shoulder bag, and said, "Use that pig brain of yours and think about why those two treat you well."
Chunxiao wanted to say something more, but heard Xiao Mu continue, "Since you have had breakfast, go water the vegetables in the greenhouse in the backyard."
After speaking, without caring about her expression, she directly called to the others. "The buns are still warm; you should hurry and eat."
Seeing Fu Yan Cheng did not move, she said, "Yan Cheng, come quickly, come quickly."
Fu Yan Cheng waved his hand. "I have really already eaten. You should hurry and eat, or they will get cold soon."
Chunxiao saw no one on her side, cried, and ran back to her room.
Fu Yan Cheng saw she had not come out for a long time and looked at Liu Chuxue. "You eat first; I will go check the back."
That greenhouse had been built quite late, and with the cold weather, natural growth was slow. Furthermore, the city was not like the countryside; firewood was not so plentiful, so Xiao Fu certainly would not burn firewood all day to maintain the temperature.
Liu Chuxue had only started watering those vegetables with water from the space before the New Year. On New Year's Eve, she began watering them with the pool water from the space, so that when Xia Qiu gave birth, she could openly bring some fresh vegetables to her for a treat and to supplement her nutrition.
So she did not stop him.
She watched him nod and said, "Fine, go ahead. You might as well see how those vegetables are growing; I also want to pick some to take to Eldest Sister."
