Chapter 70: Going Live: A Note of Gratitude

~2 min read 383 words

Without realizing it, it’s time to go live again, and San Yue feels a pang of emotion.

Going live tomorrow at noon!

That is, going live Tuesday at noon!

Since I started writing, nothing has gone smoothly from the beginning—my data has always been dismal, and I’ve stumbled through every step.

I don’t know if I’m paying homage to 93, but this book also failed its first trial recommendation slot, losing its PK to a new author.

Back then, San Yue clearly realized that my slow-burn style doesn’t suit the fast-paced rhythm of web novels.

Fortunately, my mental resilience is decent, and I’ve kept my head down and written.

At the time, my editor asked me: “Your data isn’t good—what are your thoughts on this book?”

I told my editor: “My talent is limited; I didn’t write my first two books well. This time, I want to write a story I truly love, so don’t expect much from me—I just want to finish this book carefully from start to finish.”

Even though the data was terrible, after reading my reply, my editor said nothing more, only one sentence: “Then just write with your head down, don’t look at the backend, don’t look at the data.” (I have screenshots of this in the group to prove I’m not lying.)

Later recommendation slots still showed poor data, but because I’m a veteran, my editor kept pushing me through, all the way to the Sanjiang slot.

To be honest, my data didn’t meet the standard for Sanjiang, so my editor made me wait a week. I remember other books from the same batch went live on August 4th; because of my poor performance, I was delayed ten extra days before finally going live.

Originally, my editor wanted me to delay further, but I refused—I told him: “With my numbers, whether or not I get a recommendation doesn’t matter much—just let me go live sooner.” (There are screenshots of this conversation in the group to prove it.)

Well, that’s all I’ll say—tomorrow at noon, I hope the big shots will give me a first subscription; it means a lot to San Yue.

Thank you, big shots, for your support throughout this journey—thank you!

Bowing deeply in gratitude!

Once again, I beg for first subscriptions!
