Chapter 15: The Demon-Drugging Incense

~6 min read 1,004 words

In desperation, Jin Qianbao no longer cared about the Demon Control Council's restraints or that damn Promise Document—he only wanted to unleash Demon Magic to snap the ropes, then immediately summon a demonic wind and flee as far as possible.

Yet just as he desperately tried to activate Demon Magic, he suddenly realized his already meager demonic energy had vanished completely.

"What the hell?! What's going on?!" Cold sweat burst from Jin Qianbao's forehead as he recalled something he'd once heard from Earth Immortal Realm Taoists back in Chenshi—a substance called "Miyao Xiang."

According to Chapter Seven, Item 125 of the "Collection of Demonic Creatures": In Chenshi there exists a rare object called "Miyao," shaped like an ordinary incense candle, created by Shushan Second Generation Sect Leader Zhang Xun. It emits an unusual fragrance worth a thousand gold pieces; upon smelling it, demons temporarily lose all magical power and become indistinguishable from mortals.

Judging from the Princess's attitude toward him, Jin Qianbao felt she hadn't discovered his secret as a demon—so why was Miyao Xiang burning in this room?

Jin Qianbao couldn't figure it out; he simply assumed the Daughter Kingdom was just too wealthy, and that the Princess liked the scent of Miyao Xiang so much she used this thousand-gold treasure like ordinary incense.

"Sigh… turns out the Daughter Kingdom really is extravagant…"

After a long sigh, Jin Qianbao felt a thick palm gently rest on his back—the palm was rough, warm to the touch, and upon contact with his slick skin, it felt like a red-hot coal plunged into a box of soft, fragrant butter.

Jin Qianbao's entire body tensed; overwhelming fear forced him to summon far more quick-wittedness than usual.

"My lady, wait! I have something to say!"

"Ahahaha! I thought you were mute—I was even feeling sorry for you—but your voice is so sweet too! Come on, call me 'Princess Sister'!"

Perhaps the scene was too repulsive; Jin Qianbao couldn't help turning his face away, gritting his teeth and grumbling: "P…Princess Sister… uh… let me speak…"

"Oh my… you're shy? Are you still a virgin?"

Jin Qianbao knew no one would come to save him—he only wanted to trick her into unbinding him, then use his leopard's innate divine ability to escape quickly. So he forced a smile and spoke carefully: "Princess Sister, don't you want to know my name? I…"

Jin Qianbao had prepared two strategies: one was to stall for time, since he'd noticed the Miyao Xiang had burned down by half; the other was to flatter her first, then seize the chance to flee when she least expected it.

Unexpectedly, the Princess cut him off immediately: "I don't care! No matter what your name was before, from now on, your name will be… hmm… Little Peach."

"Little Peach your ass! You're ugly enough already, and now you're illiterate too? How could you name a handsome man like me 'Little Peach'? At least call me 'Jade-Faced Little Gentleman'!"

Though Jin Qianbao thought this, he obviously didn't say it aloud—he just continued: "Little Peach is a fine name. But tell me, Princess Sister, what's your name?"

As he spoke, Jin Qianbao deliberately forced a smile, instantly bewitching the Black Princess, who blushed involuntarily, fidgeting with her sleeve like a little girl, and whispered: "My surname is Lan. My Mother Emperor said I was beautiful since childhood, so she named me Lan Biyue—she said even the moon in the sky would hide itself in shame upon seeing my face."

Jin Qianbao thought the moon hiding was surely true—but probably not because she was beautiful. More likely because she was just… well, never mind.

Don't insult others to hide your own flaws; being ugly isn't her fault.

Seeing Jin Qianbao nearly burst out laughing after hearing her, Lan Biyue's brows brightened, and she leaned her body against him.

Feeling the hundred-pound weight of her head resting on his shoulder, Jin Qianbao shuddered again and quickly twisted away: "Princess Sister, how about I call you Biyue from now on? Deal?"

"Whatever you like. Even calling my name directly is fine. From now on, you're mine. Though… though I can't belong only to you, whenever we're alone together, of course anything goes…"

As she spoke, Lan Biyue slowly undid the ties at her chest, and showed no sign of stopping. Jin Qianbao turned pale with terror, forgot to ask her to unbind him, and was frozen in overwhelming fear and shock.

"Huh… why are you tied up?" Lan Biyue, now stripped of her outer robe, finally noticed Jin Qianbao's odd state. She complained: "Wah! Who dared tie up my little beauty? Did they think you'd run away?"

Jin Qianbao had planned to take the opening she offered and ask her to untie him—but then he reconsidered. If he asked directly, she might grow suspicious. So he turned his head up and declared: "I tied myself up!"

"Oh? You tied yourself up? Did you ask for it?" Lan Biyue's eyes sparkled. Unlike ordinary women, her extraordinary nature didn't spark curiosity—it led her to another possibility: "So you like being bound? Oh my… hehehe… how fascinating!"

"Damn it!" Jin Qianbao was speechless. If his hands weren't bound, he'd have slapped himself hard—he warned himself to quit this stupid habit of overthinking, then quickly added: "No no! I had them tie me up because I refused to waste words with that Nujiang—she was trying to take advantage of me!"

"Nujiang? You mean Situ? Why?" To his surprise, mentioning Situ sparked Lan Biyue's curiosity.

"Because I think she's ugly. I didn't want to talk to her. She got angry and tied me up."

"Oh?" Lan Biyue frowned, displeased: "You mean Situ tried to take advantage of you?"

Jin Qianbao's heart leapt—he silently cheered "Perfect!" and rushed on: "Exactly! Listen, Biyue, she said she'd bring me to meet you, but on the way, seeing how handsome I am, she got those thoughts. But my heart belongs only to you! When she saw I'd resist, she tied me up!"
