Chapter 1444

~6 min read 1,130 words

It was two to three hundred feet wide, making this place look like a small plaza. In the center stood eighty-one thick copper pillars, each one golden and engraved with all sorts of strange monsters and beasts.

These copper pillars surrounded a space about thirty feet wide in the middle, their surfaces flickering with eerie black electric arcs and emitting a rumbling thunderous sound, forming a massive forbidden area that resembled a prison cage.

Inside the cage, a mass of black mist about a zhang in size rolled incessantly, and the same massive thunderous sound continued within. From time to time, silver-white electric arcs shot out from the black mist, but upon striking the black electric net, they vanished like smoke meeting its nemesis.

"Is that the thunder-attribute spirit beast inside?" The black-armored man was stunned the moment he saw the unremarkable black mist.

"What, do you look down on this beast? The ferocity of this thunder beast is not something you can easily imagine." The shopkeeper glanced sideways at the man and said with a cold laugh.

"Thunder beast?" Han Li frowned and muttered to himself in a low voice.

"That's right, that is the name of this spirit beast. I won't say much about the thunder beast's origins. But there is absolutely only one such beast in all of heaven and earth; there is no second thunder beast." The shopkeeper stared fixedly at the mist within the black electric net, a hint of madness faintly appearing on his face.

"So exaggerated? This beast's attack doesn't seem like much." The effeminate youth frowned, looking at the silver electric arcs spraying from the mist, feeling somewhat unconvinced.

"Attack? This thunder beast isn't attacking anything at all; these electric lights are just things the beast is naturally born with. I'll let you witness the true face and attack power of the thunder beast." The gaunt man said with a hint of disdain at the corner of his mouth.

Suddenly, he flicked his hand, and a white ray shot out from his sleeve. After circling once, it landed on the top of the thickest copper pillar among the many.

It was shockingly a snow-white, winged little beast, its body covered in sharp spikes several inches long, looking just like a flying hedgehog.

Not knowing what restriction the shopkeeper had placed on it, the moment the little beast landed on the copper pillar, it became so limp and weak that it couldn't fly up even a fraction, only lying there shivering incessantly.

"Bristle-Haired Beast."

Upon seeing the little beast's appearance, the black-armored man and the effeminate youth immediately recognized the fierce beast that was also famous among the Flying Spirit Race, and they could hardly believe their own eyes.

This little beast was ferocious; even when encountering a Void Refinement stage existence, it would dare to attack head-on. Although they were gregarious fierce beasts, one could imagine how vicious this beast was. But now, just by being placed on the copper pillar, it had become so weak and useless, which truly caught them by surprise.

Just as the two were thinking this, a green giant hand suddenly rushed out from the black mist, grabbing fiercely toward the Bristle-Haired Beast. Before the five fingers even touched the little beast, silver arcs appeared on them first.

With a "Boom," the little beast was outside the black electric net, and even though it already looked like it couldn't move, the moment the green giant hand collided with the black electric net, it was naturally bounced away.

A strange low roar suddenly came from the mist, seemingly filled with anger. Suddenly, after a thunderclap, blinding silver light erupted from the black mist, and then a mass of thunder light wrapped around something, rapidly swelling and growing larger from the mist. A moment later, the black mist was finally scattered completely by the thunder light. A monster that looked half-human and half-bird had already appeared within the electric net.

It had a dove head, green skin, a pair of blue feathered wings, and its body was human from the waist up and bird from the waist down. The tips of its arms were in the strange form of a hammer and a chisel, and its golden eyeballs flickered with an exceptionally sinister gaze.

Once they saw the thunder beast's appearance clearly, even though Han Li and the other two were knowledgeable and experienced, they couldn't help but gasp.

Before they could recover from their shock, the thunder beast's dove head suddenly let out a strange roar, and then white light flickered in its mouth several times, and countless fist-sized white thunderballs rolled out.

And almost at the same time, the pair of feathered wings on the beast's back flapped once, and hundreds of blue feathers shot out. With a flash, they turned into half-foot-long blue electric arrows, densely covering the area ahead.

With a "Boom," as the thunder beast's hammer and chisel collided, another exceptionally thick golden arc shot out from the tip of the chisel, instantly turning into a golden electric dragon that pounced over with a menacing aura.

This thunder beast had actually unleashed three completely different thunder-attribute divine abilities in an instant, and their power seemed quite extraordinary.

Han Li and the other two were startled and couldn't help but subconsciously take a step back. With the attacks of these three thunder-attribute divine abilities, looking at the relatively thin black electric net, it didn't look like it could really stop them at all.

Only the gaunt man surnamed Yu smiled slightly and stood where he was, unmoved, feeling completely confident.

As a result, the moment the three different electric arcs were about to strike the electric net, the eighty-one copper pillars suddenly hummed in unison, and the originally thin black electric arcs instantly thickened several times over.

Suddenly, amidst a dazzling and blinding display of electric light, the black electric net actually managed to withstand the white, blue, and golden thunder and lightning attacks.

Seeing this, the thunder beast let out an even more furious roar, its golden eyes staring fixedly at the Bristle-Haired Beast on the copper pillar, but it didn't make any more attacks easily, seemingly possessing some intelligence.

"Rest assured. This Thunder-Binding Scorching Light Array was something I spent a great deal of effort to set up, specifically to restrain this beast's thunder-attribute power. Even if this thunder beast is powerful, it cannot break free." The gaunt man gave a low laugh and suddenly slapped his hand toward the Bristle-Haired Beast on the copper pillar from afar.

Suddenly, a stream of white mist rolled out, rolling the little beast without any obstruction into the black electric net, delivering it to a place within arm's reach of the thunder beast.
