Chapter 1460

~10 min read 1,961 words

Let's take a look. WwW. feiazw. CoM might just find something. Han Li actually agreed indifferently.

Seeing Han Li not refusing this suggestion, Bai Bi, though somewhat unwilling in her heart, did not voice any opposition.

Thus, the three changed direction and flew straight toward the source of the bloody aura.

After flying over ten li, a patch of different color indeed appeared ahead—a green oasis about one li in size appeared there.

In the blink of an eye, the three flew above it.

Actually, the so-called oasis appeared black-yellow to the eye, with few tall trees inside, mostly low shrubs and unknown wild grasses.

At the center of the oasis lay a water pool over ten zhang in size, inside which rolled streams of crimson blood water. Beside the pool lay more than ten black abyss wild beast carcasses of various sizes, pierced through by stone cones.

The blood flowing from these carcasses was gurgling toward the blood pool.

The entire oasis reeked of bloody stench so strong it made one want to vomit.

"How could these beasts appear in the desert? They should be in the dense forest we saw earlier." After scanning from the air, Lei Lan expressed some surprise.

"They haven't been dead long; otherwise, the blood would have coagulated." Bai Bi examined closely for a few moments and made her own judgment.

Han Li, after glancing a few times, suddenly moved his body, transforming into a streak of cyan light that circled the entire oasis.

Moments later, he returned to his original spot, his eyes slightly narrowed as he stared at the blood pool.

"What, Han brother, did you discover something?" Lei Lan asked curiously.

"Hmm, I indeed discovered something." Han Li replied as if muttering to himself, then suddenly flicked his sleeve downward.

A streak of golden light shot out, instantly transforming into seven or eight streaks of sword light, which plunged into the ground near the pool.

Lei Lan and Bai Bi were both startled, still not understanding what was happening, when suddenly several mournful cries came from where the sword light pierced, followed by several streams of black blood bubbling up. The nearby ground exploded upward, and several ape-like demonic creatures leapt out from underground.

Each was several feet tall, with four ears on their heads, holding rough stone spears, but the spear tips emitted a faint white light.

"Eh, resentful ape beasts! Not good—this oasis is an illusion of the giant spirit flower!" Upon seeing the demonic apes clearly, Bai Bi suddenly recalled something and cried out in alarm.

"Giant spirit flower!" Han Li's eyes flashed, and Lei Lan let out a soft cry of alarm.

At that moment, the ground beneath the three rumbled with a tremendous rumbling roar, then violently shook without cease.

At the same time, the blood water in the oasis pool surged outward, and a red shadow flew out.

In a flash, it reached Han Li and viciously stabbed toward his face.

Lei Lan and Bai Bi were startled—this red shadow was too fast; even if they tried to help, it seemed they wouldn't make it in time.

But Han, seeing this, merely let out a cold snort, and one arm blurred slightly.

With a "bang" sound!

A jade-white palm appeared strangely before him, flashing like lightning as it backhanded seized the red shadow and gripped it tightly.

Only then did the two holy sons beside him see clearly: it was actually a blood-red thing as thick as an arm, resembling a long tongue, with a fist-sized meat ball at the front, covered in black spines about an inch long, writhing incessantly.

But Han Li's palm seemed not of flesh and bone—his five crystalline fingers directly gripped the meat ball, treating those black spines as nothing, unable to damage his skin in the slightest.

At that moment, five white bone skulls suddenly appeared on the surface of Han Li's five fingers, and as he opened his mouth, a stream of five-colored light flames erupted wildly, sweeping down along the long tongue.

In almost an instant, the true tongue turned into a slender five-colored ice rod.

Han Li without hesitation slapped the front end of the ice pillar with his backhand.

A ripple of cyan light flashed, with a "hiss" sound like shattering porcelain; the ice rod instantly shattered into fragments, turning into a speck of crystal light that vanished without a trace.

A demonic beast's tremendous roar came from underground, as if in extreme pain. Meanwhile, the blood-colored light in the pool spun wildly, and in the blink of an eye, not a drop of blood water remained. Then with a "boom" sound, the entire oasis shattered completely, and a colossal entity emerged from the debris.

Huge above, delicate below—it was actually a giant demonic flower roughly the same size as the original oasis.

The petals of this demonic flower were pale silver like the desert, but its heart was blood-red, actually formed from the blood-colored water pool. The long tongue that had just attacked Han Li was merely one of its many thick tentacles.

Moreover, on the flower's enormous petals stood dozens of so-called "resentful ape beasts," each baring its teeth and grinning upward, while simultaneously thrusting their stone spears into the air. Soon, dozens of stone cones about a foot long appeared, flying straight toward Han Li and his companions.

"This is the giant spirit flower—indeed somewhat interesting. This flower should be a mid-tier demonic beast. Aren't mid-tier or higher demonic beasts rare on the first layer?" Witnessing this, Han Li was not startled but laughed instead.

This time, he didn't need to act. Lei Lan and Bai Bi beside him raised their hands together, and beneath a interweaving of silver arcs and golden threads, they shattered the incoming stone cones into dust.

"Han brother! Rare appearance doesn't mean it won't appear. Moreover, we chose a terrible time for our trial—it's just before the outbreak of the earth abyss demon tide. Some mid-tier demonic beasts appearing a layer early isn't strange at all." Lei Lan frowned, then spoke with affectionate explanation.

Although this time they faced a mid-tier demonic beast, the trouble level was still far less than that of the previous yin spider bees. After her surprise, this goddess's color returned to normal.

"Is that so! I've heard the *** of this flower are excellent alchemy materials. Since we've encountered it, let's collect some." Han Li gave a noncommittal smile, then suddenly flicked his ten fingers downward.

With a few "puff puff" sounds, ten small golden swords shot out from between his fingers, instantly transforming into ten streaks of golden rainbow that shot downward.

The center of the giant flower let out a strange roar, then countless red shadows densely shot out, attempting to shoot down these flying swords.

If it were an ordinary flying spirit tribe member facing such a fierce attack, they would indeed suffer a great headache, but Han Li merely sank his expression, and pointed with one hand at the flying swords.

Instantly, the ten flying swords blazed with golden light, and upon contact, they submerged all the red shadows into the sword light, crushing them completely.

Then, the golden light flashed again, suddenly transforming into dozens of identical sword lights that blanketed the sky and rained down.

Seeing this, the resentful ape beasts seemed to know disaster was imminent, emitting sharp cries as they flung their stone spears forward, actually transforming into dozens of white lights to meet the sword light.

Though these stone spears had undergone crude refining by these demonic creatures, how could they possibly resist the sword energy of the Azure Bamboo Bee Cloud Sword? They instantly burst into showers of stone powder in the icy cold light.

Next, as ten or so streaks of golden rainbow merely circled among the resentful ape beast group, these demonic creatures all split in two and collapsed to the ground.

At the same time, the remaining sword lights mercilessly encircled the entire demonic flower, wildly slashing it, and in an instant chopped it into seven or eight pieces, which heavily fell to the ground, with large amounts of green liquid flowing everywhere.

This giant spirit flower, along with its attendant resentful ape beasts, was actually slain to the last by Han Li's controlled flying swords in a single encounter.

Lei Lan and Bai Bi had no chance to act again, and the two exchanged a helpless, wry smile.

"Alright, let's go down to collect some *** and then continue on our way." Han Li made a single-handed gesture, retrieving all the sword light into his sleeve, and said calmly.

Immediately, his figure flashed, and he landed on the nearby ground. Then, with a flip of his hand, a small emerald green bottle appeared in his palm. He aimed it at the incomplete flower heart and gave it a shake.

Instantly, a stream of cyan mist sprayed out, sweeping over those flower hearts, and immediately brought forth clumps of pink *** in liquid form, which then flew back and were poured into the small bottle.

Han Li shook the small bottle, and a strange fragrance of *** assailed his nose. He smiled faintly, a cyan light flashed, and the small bottle vanished without a trace.

Lei Lan and Bai Bi also landed, and similarly took out containers, each taking their share of the remaining***.

"Let's go." Han Li said calmly, then spread his wings and rose into the air once more.

Bai Bi said nothing, transforming into a stream of golden light that closely followed. Lei Lan smiled, about to rise into the air as well, when his gaze swept over the remains of the giant spirit flower on the ground, his heart stirred, and under some ghostly impulse, he casually flicked his finger.

After a thunderclap, a silver arc flashed and vanished, striking a yellow branch near the flower demon's remains that had always been connected to it, instantly turning the branch to ash.

Lei Lan then clapped her hands, spread her wings, and took off in pursuit of Han Li and the other ahead.

In the blink of an eye, the figures of Han Li and the two others vanished into the distant sky, leaving no trace, and no further sound came from this place.

After a full hour, the nearby ground suddenly trembled, followed by a tremendous rumbling as black, pillar-like tendrils burst from underground, and then a deep black demonic flower, several times larger than the original giant spirit flower, emerged from the dark earth.

This flower resembled a great mountain, its tendrils patting the ground as it steadied itself, when a soft exclamation suddenly rang out from above it.

"Who dares be so bold as to disturb the sacrificial spirit flower placed here? Could it be the six-legged ones?" a woman's voice erupted in anger.

Looking up at the sound, at the center of the black giant flower stood a silver wooden chair, upon which sat a slender figure with blurred features, holding a jade-green whip in hand.

"Master, do not be angry; the blood offerings here have been cut off not long ago, so those people must have left recently. Let me go investigate first," said a yellow-light-flashing, furry, short figure who appeared before the silver chair, half-kneeling and speaking respectfully to the woman on the seat.

"Hmph, I must continue presiding over the sacrifice, so I leave this matter to you. Whoever dares to ruin my plans, none shall be spared," the woman said coldly, her whip suddenly lashing through the air.

After a sharp cry, a white trace flashed and vanished, the nearby space rippled, and countless black mist surged from the trace, as if truly tearing open the space of this place.
