Afterword

Mortal's book has finally come to an end.

When I finished writing the last word and put down my pen, I felt both a great sense of relief and a lingering emptiness in my heart.

I believe many readers who have followed along all this way should have a similar feeling.

This is my first time writing an afterword, but I believe it certainly will not be the last.

I checked the records for Mortal;

The first upload time was February 20, 2008

The first time it went live was August 1, 2008

The complete ending time was September 23, 2013

The book took a total of five years and seven months, with over seven million words; although it cannot compare to some monstrous authors on the website, it indeed contains immense effort in this novel.

The initial conception of Mortal alone took nearly three years.

When I first picked up the pen, I also hesitated for a long time before finally deciding to embark on the path of writing.

After all, as a first-time novelist, I could not compare to veteran authors who had written several books, and I encountered many difficulties and interferences when starting creation.

Not to mention other things, just typing on the computer, this most basic task, almost scared me away at the beginning.

Because before writing Mortal, I only knew some of the most basic computer operations, and had never truly typed before, always using the "one-finger Zen" method on the keyboard.

I remember when typing the first chapter, although it was only over two thousand words and the content had long been thoroughly familiar in my mind, it still took a full four hours.

But after finishing this chapter, I felt a sense of accomplishment I had never experienced before.

This feeling was also one of the reasons that supported me to continue persisting.

However, the true motivation that drove me to type out the complete Mortal day after day, night after night, was still the love and admiration of the many loyal readers of Mortal for this book.

Over five years of unwavering support has allowed many readers to form deep bonds with Mortal, and also enabled me to meet many enthusiastic friends.

Here, I once again express my sincere thanks and gratitude to these readers and book friends!

This feeling of being recognized and acknowledged by others, I believe, is what all authors most desire.

Compared to the original outline, the completed Mortal has added many elements, but also reduced some elements and content.

These elements are ones I deemed unnecessary in Mortal, and I prepared to set up another xianxia world for them in the new book.

The new book's title is directly announced here, called《Magic Heaven Record》, planned for upload in November.

This book has also been conceived for a considerable period of time, although I have not yet started writing, but I believe it will also be a wonderfully exciting novel, hoping everyone will like it just as much when the time comes.

Hehe, I will also type out some stored drafts during my rest period of over a month, so that everyone can enjoy them all at once when the time comes!
