Chapter 2491: Memories Before the Formal Upload of the New Book!
Memories Before the Formal Upload of the New Book!
"The Mortal's Journey to Immortality" took Forgetting Words five and a half years to write, during which he rested for over half a month, and now he must begin creating the new book "The Magic Heaven Record."
Before the main text of the new book begins uploading, I do not wish to write more prefaces or similar things, but instead plan to share some deeply memorable memories with everyone.
I remember when I was very young and discerning, due to the influence of Hong Kong and Taiwan adaptations of TV dramas like "The Legend of the Condor Heroes," I had already come into contact with martial arts novels by masters like Jin Yong; later, after entering middle school, I encountered similar novels like "The Swordsmen of Shu Mountain," and from then on, I became utterly unable to stop.
Hehe, now thinking about it, those many years of thick nearsighted glasses constantly perched on my nose were actually largely born from this.
Later, after the middle school entrance exam, I was admitted to a mechanical vocational school in Wuxi, requiring me to live away from my family for the entire semester in the school dormitory.
At that time, I was still a young brat in my early teens; aside from some necessary daily necessities, I naturally had little spare money, and there were no internet cafes or similar places back then, making it impossible to go to high-consumption places like movie theaters.
So, my usual half of leisure time could only be spent in a book-rental shop not far from school; when weekends came, I would even move entire sets of rented books to the dormitory.
Because after evening, the rental fee would be calculated for two days.
Therefore, on weekends, I usually went to rent books at nine or ten in the morning and returned them at seven or eight in the evening.
During this long stretch of time, I could easily lie on my dormitory bed, happily reading the novels I had rented, and soon become so immersed that I could not pull myself away.
Sometimes, I would even forget to eat lunch, and only remember after being reminded by my dormitory mates.
Of course, to save money, my reading speed back then was getting faster and faster; the habit of reading ten lines at a glance when reading novels should have been cultivated during that time.
For me now, this is both an advantage and a disadvantage, I suppose.
On the good side, because I read quickly, I can accumulate various plotlines at an astonishing speed, so when I create the outline and plot of my own novels, I feel a sense of ease and mastery.
On the bad side, also because I read ten lines at a glance, when it comes to detailed descriptions in novels, I always feel vague and unclear, and when trying to write out specific sentences and word choices, I also feel somewhat strained.
This is probably also the main reason why I cannot type too fast.
Now thinking back, those few years of studying away from home should have been the most carefree years of my life.
First, the school back then was indeed relatively lax in management; second, there was no pressure from life or work; third, I was still young and did not yet know about having a girlfriend, so naturally I did not spend any time or energy on that.
Hehe, don't laugh at me—back then, we were all pure; I remember that even other classmates at school rarely dated girls.
