Chapter 111: Throw the Trouble Root at Her

~7 min read 1,235 words

It staggered, its amber‑colored big eyes filled with bewilderment and helplessness, letting out a faint "awoo" sound, looking adorably clumsy.

"It's a tiger cub!" Wei Bing'an's eyes flashed with surprise, then he turned boastful, "Never thought I'd be this lucky to find such a rare creature! Take it home, that'll be a one‑of‑a‑kind in Jingcheng!"

Without hesitation he stepped forward and scooped up the helpless little tiger cub.

"Ah! It's so cute!" Murong Yuyiao covered her mouth with a light laugh, stepped forward and gently poked the little tiger's cheek with her finger, eyes full of wonder.

Huo Wenxuan casually picked a few wildflowers nearby, braided them into a tiny wreath and placed it on the little tiger's head: "Now it's even cuter, right?"

The little tiger awkwardly shook its head, prompting bursts of laughter from the crowd.

Wei Bing'an kneaded its tiny paw: "Haha, so small, really amusing!"

Everyone was immersed in the excitement of acquiring a novel plaything, not noticing a pair of amber vertical pupils brimming with agitation and anger, fixed on them from the shadows of the nearby dense forest.

"Roar—!"

A ferocious tiger's roar, shaking the woods, cracked like thunder.

Not far away, Tuan Tuan lifted its head: "Why is the big kitty so angry?"

Xiao Er and the Guard instantly surrounded her, eyes watching the surroundings warily.

A massive, multicolored mother tiger lunged out of the shadows!

Her copper‑bell‑like huge eyes glowed blood‑red, fixed on the infant tiger cradled by Wei Bing'an, still wearing the flower wreath.

"My god!"

"It's a big tiger!"

The group that had just been laughing burst into panic in an instant.

The Guard clanged their swords out, but each turned pale, legs weakening, trembling uncontrollably under the King of Beasts' imposing pressure.

"Protect the young master!"

"Guard the lady!"

"Run, run quickly!"

In the chaos, unsure who shoved her, Murong Yuyiao, who was at the front, stumbled and fell flat on the ground.

She looked up in terror, meeting the mother tiger's wild, raging pupils.

"Ah—!!!"

Fear instantly shattered her mind, and a warm, lewd fluid uncontrollably seeped from beneath her, soaking the luxurious hem of her skirt.

An unpleasant odor spread through the air.

Those nearby instinctively stepped aside, a hint of disgust flashing on their faces.

Everyone scattered in a frantic escape, caring for no one.

The mother tiger did not attack the now reeking Murong Yuyiao.

Instead she crouched low, emitting a threatening growl, poised to pounce on Wei Bing'an who still clutched the tiger cub.

Wei Bing'an's mind went blank; clutching the tiger cub, he turned and fled,

shouting wildly as he ran: "Help!"

Seeing a Guard run ahead of him, he immediately reached back and yanked hard: "You dog lackey! Block for me!"

Too many people blocked the mother tiger's view, so she couldn't pounce on Wei Bing'an and kept chasing relentlessly behind the crowd.

Huo Wenxuan followed Wei Bing'an, no longer caring about any lady's decorum, and sprinted with all her might.

Seeing Wei Bing'an still clutching the tiger cub, she couldn't help but start to berate him, "You fool! Can't you see the mother tiger is after the cub?"

Suddenly, she sharply spotted a short distance ahead the tiny figure surrounded by a group of people.

Tuan Tuan stood among the Guard, curiously peeking through the adults' leg gaps.

It was her!

A vicious scheme instantly slithered into her mind like a poisonous snake.

She seized the panicked Wei Bing'an beside her, forcing him to look at Tuan Tuan: "If you don't want to die, throw that troublemaker away! Throw it to Princess Jiayou! Let that beast go after her!"

Wei Bing'an couldn't react; his survival instinct overrode everything.

Hearing that, he immediately mustered all his strength and hurled the tiger cub hard toward Tuan Tuan's direction!

The golden fur ball traced an arc in the air, landing precisely in front of Tuan Tuan.

The mother tiger's gaze instantly shifted to the new direction.

Tuan Tuan immediately darted out, scooping up the little tiger cub that had fallen to the ground, still whimpering.

Xiao Er's pupils contracted sharply, shouting in alarm: "Miss! No!" and, together with several Guard, surrounded her again.

The little tiger twitched uneasily in Tuan Tuan's arms.

That massive, multicolored silhouette, like a scarlet‑golden bolt, lunged forward swiftly!

"Protect the Princess!" Xiao Er's eyes widened to the brink of tearing, and the long sword at his waist sprang from its sheath.

Though frightened, the Guard pressed forward bravely, forming a thin human wall.

Huo Wenxuan halted, eyes widening with excitement.

"Kill her! Quickly!"

Everyone's breath held still at that moment.

However, the expected gory scene of blood splattering on the spot never occurred.

Tuan Tuan lifted her small face from the crowd's leg gaps and said to the raging mother tiger: "You're so noisy! Be quiet, please."

The mother tiger halted, crouching, eyes fixed on the tiger cub just inches away.

From her throat came not a furious roar but a low, angry growl.

Tuan Tuan pushed at the immovable adults in front: "Second Uncle, let me through."

Xiao Er remained still: "No!"

Tuan Tuan shook their head helplessly: "It's okay, Second Uncle, she just wants her baby, she won't hurt me."

Xiao Er remained completely still: "Miss, that's a ferocious beast!"

Tuan Tuan had no choice but to squat down, facing the tigress: "Come here, let me pet you, petting you will feel good!"

The tigress nervously glanced at Xiao Er and the Guards.

Tuan Tuan waved at it: "Come on, they won't hurt you!"

The tigress slowly approached her, its huge paw slowly lifting and gently setting down, each step especially careful.

Xiao Er and the Guards watched in horror as the ferocious beast walked up to their feet, so tense they forgot to breathe.

"That's right!" Tuan Tuan simply sat on the ground, one hand holding the tiger cub against their chest, the other reaching out from between their legs and gently placing it on the tigress's huge forepaw.

The tigress's big head tilted, its low growl turning into a soft whine, utterly aggrieved.

Its huge nose twitched lightly, as if trying to discern something.

Xiao Er, tense all over, looked down at this astonishing sight before them and finally moved aside.

Tuan Tuan immediately scooted forward, their small hand touching the tigress's head, and placed the cub in their arms into the tigress's embrace: "Here, your baby is safe!"

The tigress lay down completely, greedily licking its own cub.

Tuan Tuan happily leaned against it, wrapping their arms around one of the tigress's forepaws: "Wow! So big! Hey, you know, your paws are even bigger than my snow leopard's!"

She then carefully stroked the tigress's fur twice: "But the fur isn't as soft as my snow leopard's!"

Amidst its busyness, the tigress responded with a sound: "Aooo."

It even obediently lowered its head, allowing that small hand to randomly rub its ears.

A drop of cold sweat fell from Xiao Er's forehead.

The Guards beside them all had their mouths wide open, like clay and wood sculptures.

Not far away, having just run over, Murong Yuyiao with her soiled skirt, in a miserable state,

stood frozen, eyes wide open.

Wei Bing'an had already run off, nowhere to be found.

Zhou Jing'an covered their mouth, afraid they would scream out.

Huo Wenxuan looked utterly defeated, their eyes burning with deep-seated hatred.
