Chapter 859: Catch Them All
The copper coin rolled on the ground and stopped beside the woman's feet.
She looked at that copper coin, bent down and slowly picked it up, clenched it in her palm, and lowered her head.
Several nearby stall vendors watched the scene, and no one spoke.
Their faces showed neither anger nor sorrow, only a numbness born of habit.
Luo Zhenjiang's brows furrowed.
Xiao Er and Lu Qi quickly walked to Tuan Tuan's side, shielding her in the middle.
"They're bullying people," Xiao Tuanzi grabbed Xiao Er's sleeve, her little face tense, "Second Uncle, beat them!"
Xiao Er and Lu Qi, without a word, lifted their legs and walked toward the three Red-haired Barbarians.
"Impossible!" Cai Tong gave a low shout.
He watched the backs of those few Red-haired Barbarians and gently shook his head.
Xiao Ze and Xiao Ningxun exchanged a glance, both understanding that if they made a move here at the market, news would reach Mei Er within half an hour.
By then, when our group went out, it wouldn't just be Cai Tong following us; anything else we wanted to do would become difficult.
Xiao Ningxun looked at her sister's tense little face, walked over, bent down, and lifted her up.
He tightly held his sister, whispering, "Tuan Tuan, we brothers still have important matters to attend to; we can't teach them a lesson here."
He paused, then said, "But you can."
Tuan Tuan blinked and nodded firmly.
She slipped into her brother's embrace, lowered her head, untied the small embroidered pouch at her waist, felt out a tiny fish bone from inside, and clenched it tightly in her hand.
Xiao Tuanzi turned her head to glance at the three Red-haired Barbarians still laughing loudly, pursed her little mouth, and muttered softly, "Let these three red-haired villains trip with every step they take—forever!"
Having said that, she loosened her little hand, and the tiny fish bone fell downward.
A faint light flashed, and the fish bone vanished instantly.
The next moment, the three Red-haired Barbarians simultaneously stopped their steps.
They glanced at each other, their laughter ceased, and they looked bewildered.
Immediately, the three continued forward, but their feet slipped at the same time.
The leader fell flat on his back, his head hitting the ground with a dull thud that made the surrounding people instinctively shrink their necks.
The second hurriedly reached out to help him, but his foot felt as if stepping on something, his body tilted, and instead of helping him up, he crashed solidly onto his companion.
The third stared, lifted his leg to go around them, but somehow his left foot tripped his right, his body lunged forward, and he plunged straight into the water basin of a nearby fish stall.
He shouted something, water splashed everywhere, and half the street's people turned to look.
The fish stall owner brandished his fish-gutting knife, glanced at the flopping Red-haired Barbarians in the basin, and his mouth twitched.
The three struggled to their feet, obviously cursing under their breath.
Seeing the gazes of the people around them, they angrily shouted rebukes.
The people around hastily turned their heads away, not daring to look at them any longer.
After the three steadied themselves, they took a step, but immediately all three fell face-first to the ground.
After finally managing to get up, the three clearly felt something was off, and when they tried to step again, they all proceeded with extreme caution.
But after walking just one step, they fell flat on their backs again.
The people around stared wide-eyed, dumbfounded.
Thus, the three Red-haired Barbarians walked a step, fell a step, crawling and rolling along the street.
Their hats flew off, boots dropped, and their bodies were covered in vegetable leaves and muddy water.
Someone let out a "pfft" laugh.
Immediately, the laughter burst forth like a flood released from a gate, rolling from the street's head to its tail.
Some laughed while slapping their thighs, others laughed until tears streamed down.
Even the little girl who had been hiding behind her mother came out, giggling.
Tuan Tuan clung to her third brother's neck, her little face breaking into two deep dimples.
Luo Zhenjiang muttered under his breath, "Serves them right!"
Xiao Er looked at his young lady and said, "Well done, Miss."
Lu Qi gave Tuan Tuan a thumbs-up, saying, "Our miss is truly formidable!"
Cai Tong stared intently at Tuan Tuan and asked softly, "Just now... was that the work of an Immortal Envoy?"
Xiao Ze gave a slight nod.
Cai Tong's eyes widened instantly.
Feng Zhou laughed heartily, wanting to follow and keep watching, but Xiao Ningchen grabbed him and pulled him back.
Tuan Tuan slipped from Xiao Ningxun's embrace, walked up to the little girl, opened her sachet, took out a piece of silver, and handed it to her, saying, "They didn't give you silver; I'll give you some!"
The little girl hastily waved her hands, saying, "Too, too much."
Tuan Tuan shoved the silver into the girl's hand, turned, and flung herself into Luo Zhenjiang's embrace, saying, "Uncle Luo, let's go."
"All right!" Luo Zhenjiang hoisted her onto his shoulder, "Let's go! We'll keep eating!"
The little girl handed the silver to the woman, saying, "Mother, look."
The woman watched their receding backs, a smile appearing on her face.
After leaving the market, everyone followed Cai Tong to the harbor for a circuit, returning to the inn only at dusk.
The next day, Cai Tong led the group to a seaside fishing village to play all day; Tuan Tuan ran about wildly, and exhausted before reaching the inn, she fell asleep slumped on Luo Zhenjiang's shoulder.
On the third day, Cai Tong did not hurry into the inn until noon.
Everyone was seated in the front hall having lunch.
Tuan Tuan waved and called out, "Uncle Cai, are you hungry? Come eat with us."
Cai Tong forced a smile, "Fine." After saying it, he sat down at the table.
Xiao Ningxun set down his chopsticks and asked, "What did Mei Er say?"
Cai Tong whispered, "Kui Yi got angry, and Mei Er is also a bit restless."
"Oh?" Xiao Ningyuan picked up a piece of fish meat and asked leisurely, "What are they planning to do?"
Cai Tong lifted his eyes and scanned the group: "Kui Yi said, why not capture all of you and force you to hand over all the goods."
"Mei Er… didn't speak."
