Chapter 611: Having a Drink with Cui Chengshan

At half past six in the evening, Cui Chengshan arrived on time. But he did not come alone; he brought a woman.

The woman he was involved with,

I did not expect that.

After his incident, he remained paired with that woman.

It seems their relationship is quite deep.

Not afraid of death.

We met in the Runxin Hall of Xueguo Dajiudian.

Cui Chengshan introduced this woman to me,

"Mr. Zhao, her name is Li Jia, she is the person in charge of our county's Cultural Tourism Bureau."

I hurriedly shook hands with Li Jia.

This woman named Li Jia is truly beautiful in appearance and very tall,

She has big wavy hair,

Her skin is very fair, her eyes are large, and her nose bridge is high.

She is somewhat reminiscent of a Western Regions style woman.

Looking at Li Jia, I directly said, "Director Li, you're probably not from Zaocheng, are you?"

Li Jia immediately laughed and said, "You've seen through it, Mr. Zhao, I truly am not from Zaocheng."

My grandfather was a Zaocheng native; when he was young he went to the frontier and got married there,

In his old age, he wanted to return to his roots,

So he brought our whole family from the frontier here.

My mother is a frontier person.

"I was saying, she's really not ordinarily beautiful."

"Serving as the Cultural Tourism Bureau chief in Xue County is truly a case of great talent wasted in a small post." I also said with a laugh.

"Mr. Zhao, let's sit. You arranged for me not to bring many people, so I only brought Li Jia." Cui Chengshan said, looking at me.

"I don't like bustle; I want to have a quiet chat with you." I gestured for Cui Chengshan to take the upper seat.

Cui Chengshan hurriedly moved his body back,

"Mr. Zhao, you're criticizing me. Your relationship with my father is not ordinary, and when it comes to my affairs, it's you who stepped in to protect me. Coming here makes you an honored guest. You must take the upper seat."

I still wanted to say something,

Li Jia said, "Mr. Zhao, please sit. Zaocheng here has too many formalities. Where we're from it's simpler: sit down and eat, pick up a cup and drink, without mutual deference."

I could only sit down,

I then introduced Xixi to Cui Chengshan and Li Jia,

"This is Xixi, my niece, currently teaching at Xi Nan Lian Xiao."

Xixi hurriedly reached out to shake hands with Cui Chengshan and Li Jia.

Cui Chengshan looked at Li Jia and directly said, "Hello Xixi, you teach at Xi Nan Lian Xiao, right? Do you currently have plans to return to the county town to teach,

"I heard Director Ma say that our county's experimental primary school is lacking a math teacher."

At this moment I said to Cui Chengshan, "Cui Xian, I just resigned this afternoon. I'm no longer teaching."

Cui Chengshan was stunned; this favor was not conveyed.

Li Jia immediately said, "Miss Xixi, what are your plans after resigning? Our Cultural Tourism Bureau also lacks staff."

"I think you're quite suited for secretarial work."

At this moment I said to Cui Chengshan and Li Jia, "Both of you, please sit. We'll discuss Xixi's work later."

"We'll eat and talk; I'm already a bit hungry."

Cui Chengshan hurriedly arranged for staff to bring wine and dishes.

Li Jia proactively poured wine for me,

With such a beautiful woman pouring wine, I felt embarrassed to refuse.

"I was saying, Cui Chengshan deeply loves Jia; originally this woman, being beautiful, is a peerless beauty of the world."

He certainly cannot bear to let go.

At that time I had only seen Li Jia on a mobile video,

At that time Ruan Wei had secretly filmed it, the image was unclear. Only after seeing her in person did I realize her beauty was truly extraordinary.

I never imagined that such a small Xue County would hide such a beautiful woman.

I raised my wine cup,

"Cui Xian, passing by here I've disturbed you. Director Li, thank you for your enthusiasm."

"It's nothing, Mr. Zhao, your coming is an honor for our Xue County."

"Director Li, you don't know, this Mr. Zhao used to be the chairman of Da Heng Group." Cui Chengshan said to Li Jia.

Upon hearing that, Li Jia's expression changed when she learned I used to be the chairman of Da Heng Group,

"Mr. Zhao, no, Chairman Zhao, I never expected that; I only came from the frontier last year, and I don't know much about Zaocheng's affairs."

"I have heard legends about you before, but I have never seen you in person."

"I truly never expected to see you in person here."

"Chairman Zhao, I raise a glass to you."

After Li Jia finished speaking, she drained the wine in her cup.

Women from the Northwest drink wine heartily, unlike the women here who sip it shyly and frighteningly.

I hurriedly drained the wine in my cup,

Then he said: "Director Li, never call me Chairman Zhao, that's all in the past."

I am now just an idle cloud and wild crane, an old man with nothing to do; I came to see Xixi, and it happened that I was passing through Xue County, suddenly I thought of Cui Xian, and wanted to have a meal with him.

Between us, although it's our first meeting.

Everyone, drink freely."

"It's Li Jia, don't get so excited. Mr. Zhao said, we're drinking like friends." Cui Chengshan said hurriedly.

He says this, can't I still not make it out?

I chuckled,

"Yeah, everyone is like friends, otherwise it would be restrained. Cui Xian, you came over today, there's something I want to discuss with you."

"Mr. Zhao, you say, I'm all ears." Cui Chengshan hurriedly leaned forward.

"A few days ago, I came to see Xixi, through Xixi I learned that our Xue County was formerly the Ancient Xue Kingdom, and a famous historical figure named Meng Changjun emerged here."

Stories like crowing roosters and dog stealing, and the cunning rabbit with three burrows all took place here.

I also went to the city wall of the Ancient Xue Kingdom to feel the history.

Because these stories all happened over two thousand years ago.

What is unexpected is that on this Ancient Xue land, a section of the ancient city wall still remains.

Besides these, Xi Village also produced the ancestor of cart-making, named Xi Zhong, whose historical stories are even more widely spread.

I want to understand more about it,

I had Xixi inquire about our county's Cultural History Museum.

Only then did I learn that the Cultural History Museum had closed, with no staff left.

Alas, what a pity.

Nowadays, everywhere is excavating historical figures and historical stories,

to make the locality quickly famous,

"Why haven't these historical stories been excavated in our locality?" I said, looking at Cui Chengshan.

"What Mr. Zhao criticizes is,"

The main reason is that our Xue County is too poor, causing insufficient funding.

Our county lacks any industrial foundation, and even more so, no coal mines.

Alas, we mainly rely on agricultural development; Mr. Zhao, think about how much wealth that could bring.

We also want to develop real estate.

We once brought in the main real estate developers from Zaocheng,

After they came, they just shook their heads, because to the east are mountains like Beishan, separating Zaocheng Xin Cheng by large mountains, and to the west is Shanghu Lake.

The entire county seat lies along this narrow north-south provincial road.

If real estate cannot be developed, then the economy cannot be stimulated.

Without an economy, we lack the ability to develop the cultural industry. Director Li is also angry about this.

She has repeatedly proposed that we properly promote cultural matters.

But all of this requires money.

Mr. Zhao, you have also seen this when you came to Xue County.

The entire county seat has only this one hotel.

Basically, no one comes for tourism.

"Promotion is also useless." Cui Chengshan said firmly.

Looking at Cui Chengshan, I thought to myself, your mind is only on women; you definitely won't think about or do anything else.

You rely on your family's power, muddle through here for a few years, then get transferred away,

There's absolutely no need to go to trouble over this matter.

But I can't make my words too clear.

I chuckled, picked up my cup,

"What Cui Xian says makes sense; in this society, without money you can't take a single step."

But some things still need people to do them,

If not done, then Xue County's development will only stagnate.

I came today to offer suggestions for Xue County's development.
