Chapter 810: Divining Characters for Everyone

He Zuming at this moment looked at Shi Yong,

took out a cigarette,

asked Shi Yong, "You're really doing this character divination."

"Mr. He, there's no fake about it. Just divining the tea character—what to divinate? Divining me, how long I'll live." Shi Yong laughed heartily.

He Zuming lit the cigarette,

took a puff,

"Shi Yong, this character is simple; tea means a person among grass and trees.

The top is grass, the bottom is wood, and a person stands in the middle.

Wood corresponds to the liver in the human body, indicating your liver isn't very good."

"Mr. He, you're truly a sage. A few days ago my liver was really bad, I was hospitalized. I just got out and haven't been out long. I've only just started drinking and smoking now." Shi Yong exclaimed happily.

He Zuming nodded,

"Shi Yong, what are you asking?"

"I ask, how long can I live." Shi Yong said.

"You can live to eighty. Under the tea character is a wood, and wood also forms the number eighty; a person reaches eighty before resting beneath the grass." He Zuming said.

"That's great, I can live to eighty. Mr. He, I'll borrow your auspicious words.

Then let me toast you with a cup of wine." Shi Yong lifted the wine cup happily.

He Zuming took Shi Yong's toast, then glanced at me once and said nothing further.

"Mr. He, I also want to divinate a character." Ding Li said from beside.

"Ding Li, which character do you want to divinate?" He Zuming asked.

"I'll divinate the 'gan' character; I want to ask about marriage." Ding Li said.

"The 'gan' character has the form of 'cheng' on top and the heart radical below.

If it's about marriage, as long as there's heart it can be fulfilled.

The top of 'gan' is 'xian'; remove a mouth, add a 'ding', and it becomes 'cheng'. This indicates your marriage will be a remarriage.

Adding a 'ding' also predicts that this remarriage will bring a son.

At the same time, the 'ding' within 'xian' shows the partner you seek is very strong‑willed. You will always listen to her." He Zuming laughed.

After hearing He Zuming finish, Ding Li was overjoyed,

"Listening to the daughter‑in‑law's words, life becomes steady.

Mr. He, as long as it can be achieved, that's enough. I'll toast you." Ding Li finished and offered a toast to He Zuming.

After Ding Li finished the divination,

Xiao Long then asked He Zuming, "Mr. He, may I do a character divination?"

"Xiao Long, you can, what will you divinate?"

"I'll divinate love." Xiao Long whispered.

"Alright, name a character." He Zuming said, looking at Xiao Long.

"Uncle Yong divined the tea character; then I'll divine the wine character." Xiao Long said.

"The wine character,

remove the three‑dot water radical to get 'you'.

'You' stands for the rooster; your girlfriend is a Rooster, right?" He Zuming asked Xiao Long.

"Exactly, Mr. He. She really is a Rooster." Xiao Long said.

"'You' also means west; her home is to the west of your house."

"Yes, Mr. He. You know Fang Rui?" Xiao Long asked.

He Zuming shook his head,

"I don't know; I'm just judging from the character.

'You' is west, and west corresponds to the Dui trigram, meaning joy, indicating you like her a lot."

Xiao Long nodded again.

"Add two strokes above 'you' and then a 'cun', it becomes 'zun', which means your father.

When you speak 'wine' with your mouth, it becomes 'zun'.

The character 'zun' carries the meaning of gathering to discuss, also rumor, indicating your father opposes your relationship."

"Mr. He, you're absolutely right; because of love, I've had a huge rift with my father.

I don't know what to do from now on." Xiao Long said helplessly.

"Hehe, Xiao Long, don't speak of your worries. There's also the three‑dot water here,

your love will go through ups and downs before it can succeed.

Wine looks like water, but in fact it is fire.

Water and fire combine into the hexagram Ji Ji,

which signifies achievement.

Since it can be achieved, it can last forever.

When the wedding comes, just invite me for a cup of wedding wine." He Zuming explained to Xiao Long.

Xiao Long heard He Zuming's words and laughed happily.

One should know that between him and Fang Rui there is still no outcome.

It turns out Tian Shi's plan to adopt Fang Rui as his god‑daughter has been delayed because of Wen Han's matter.

But He Zuming said it can be achieved, so it's probably close.

Everyone consulted He Zuming for divination, got the results they wanted, and were very pleased.

Then everyone raised their cups, shared a full‑house toast, and the gathering dispersed.

When everyone had rested,

He Zuming called me,

"Jianqiang, come over, I have something to tell you."

So I followed He Zuming to his room,

and entered the room,

He Zuming had Xiao Yan close the door,

Then he said to me, "Today's Character Divination—there are some things I can't speak about openly at the table.

I only want the big guys to have fun."

What I want to tell you is that the 'tao' in Yang Tao's name could also mean 'to flee', implying a fleeting escape.

This woman is of a watery, fleeting nature,

she is an unstable person.

You must guard against her."

I nodded,

"Thank you, Mr. He, for the warning."

"There's another matter I didn't want to mention, but it's already been divined; I think I should tell you the truth," He Zuming hesitated.

"What is it? Speak, Mr. He," I asked.

He Zuming hesitated again,

but then said,

"The matter of Shi Yong's lifespan divination."

"Didn't you say he could live to eighty?"

"Sigh, Jianqiang, I was only trying to ease his mind. Normally no one asks about lifespan.

Only those whose bodies are abnormal inquire about lifespan.

And he asked me to divinate the character 'tea'.

What does 'tea' mean? A person among plants; think what lies among grass and trees.

Grass above, wood below," He Zuming reminded.

I immediately thought of a grave.

Only a person buried in a grave is among grass and trees.

But I couldn't bring myself to say it aloud.

"Jianqiang, I feel Shi Yong's body will still have problems.

His complexion looks terrible," He Zuming said.

"After I finish these tasks, I'll have Shi Yong examined thoroughly," I said.

"Alright, when tea is first steeped the leaves float; after it's fully brewed the leaves should settle to the bottom of the cup.

Alas, a herb lives one autumn, a person lives one lifetime.

Jianqiang, I have nothing more to say," He Zuming said, looking at me.

He Zuming wanted to speak but stopped.

I didn't dare to ask further; I feared I'd bring out bad news.

I simply couldn't bear it.

In short, divining that character for Shi Yong is not good.

"Also regarding Xiao Long,

I haven't spoken it plainly,

Alcohol is for sacrificial rites; from now on let Xiao Long drink less, otherwise…

"Thank you, Mr. He, for the warning; I will explain to Xiao Long.

Mr. He, a few days ago I saw Liu Yong.

He said Wen Han is about to finish.

We should be close to victory."

He Zuming nodded,

"Jianqiang, what I want to tell you is that once we achieve victory, we should not meddle in Da Heng Group's affairs.

Your period of good fortune has already passed within the Da Heng Group.

If you still have thoughts about the Da Heng Group, it could bring an even greater disaster.

You remember the hexagram you divined that day? It was the Yi hexagram—extremely perilous.

Make sure to keep your bottom line, don't covet what's in others' bowls.

I nodded,

"Mr. He, Liu Yong asked me to become chairman of the Da Heng Group; I have…

Rest assured, I have no longer any thoughts about the Da Heng Group.

"That's good; my biggest worry is that you can't let go of the Da Heng Group. If that's settled, I won't worry about anything. It won't be long before we're all safe and can return to Zaocheng with peace of mind.

Because from the Yi hexagram we can already see that our food and drink are fine.

Alright, we've had quite a bit of wine today.

Jianqiang, I'm tired.

"You also get some rest early," He Zuming said to me.

I shook hands with He Zuming,

and then came out of his room,

After coming out, I didn't immediately return to the room; I took out a cigarette and started smoking.

Thinking of He Zuming's words,

my tears couldn't help but flow down.

Brother Shi Yong, is there really bad news?
