With its tiny body and short limbs, it was essentially a standing target. It bore a resemblance to a rabbit but it was a lot more grotesque in appearance.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>With its mouth split into four sections, revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth that twisted within its gaping maw, it was anything but cute.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>And yet...\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Swoosh—!\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\".....I missed.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Regardless of how much I tried, just when the thread would reach a certain distance, it would detect it and hop away.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"How troublesome.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>I wasn't disheartened by the failure.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Though I kept on failing, I was getting closer and closer to the creature with each attempt. Having to split my attention five different ways was quite exhausting.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Ignoring my eyelid which was twitching, I guided the five threads towards the creature in the distance.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The distance between the creature and the creature shrank.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Ten meters...\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Nine meters...\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Eight meters....\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Huu.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Sweat continued to pour down from my face as my right eyelid twitched. Clearly, it had detected something but couldn't understand what.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Five meters...\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>That was my current limit.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>My finger twitched. One of the threads lunged forward. As if expecting such action, the creature jumped ahead.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Swoosh—\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>But...\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Hiek!\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>It was surrounded.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Kh.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>My hand clenched tightly, urging the threads into action as they surged towards the creature.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>This time, there was no avenue of escape. With every path blocked and suspended mid-air, the creature could only observe helplessly as the threads ensnared its body, coiling around its limbs.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"....Hah.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>I watched from the distance as the pain in my mind intensified. However, I ignored the pain and smiled.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"I did it.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>A wave of relief washed over me as my chest trembled.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Hieek—!\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The creature continued to trash in the distance as the threads coiled around it. I was just about to put it out of its misery when I frowned.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Hm.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>All of a sudden, I felt multiple pairs of eyes falling on me.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>When I turned around, I felt my body freeze. Tens of different pairs of eyes were staring at me. Their expressions were anything but friendly.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>I didn't let myself fall into panic and took a deep breath.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The Professor had warned beforehand that there was a likelihood of such a scenario occurring.
