Chapter 160: Daily Life
"I'm a bit puzzled by your behavior yesterday..."
On the private jet returning to Britain, Thomas received a message from Yang Yi.
He had originally been sitting by the window reading, but he had stared at that same page for five minutes without turning it.
Before receiving this message, he had seemed in good spirits; when his secretary brought him coffee, he had even remarked, "Not bad." When the secretary turned around, his eyes widened. Who knew that Mr. Thomas's appetite was always poor during flights? The secretary had already prepared himself for his master's harsh criticism.
But after receiving this text, his brows furrowed. He closed the open book and paced back and forth in the lounge, deep in thought.
Fortunately, this was a luxury private jet reserved for heads of state and ambassadors, with enough interior space for him to walk back and forth.
He stopped, sat on the sofa, and began to reply, but after writing just a few words, he quickly deleted them.
"Ding-dong—" A new message arrived. He instinctively opened it and saw the content he least wanted to see: "In fact, I love someone else..."
Thomas closed his eyes and leaned weakly against the back of the sofa.
After a moment, as if suddenly realizing what had happened, his long, slender fingers tapped the screen at high speed:
"Hmph, that was just revenge for you hiding your identity from me earlier. Did you toss and turn all night last night and not sleep well? You deserved it!"
Then, he threw his phone onto the sofa beside him and didn't look at it again.
"Ding-dong—" The reply came quickly. He ended up picking it up to read it anyway. It contained only one word:
"FXXK!"
He smiled self-mockingly.

"I felt guilty all night!" Yang Yi held up her phone, fuming as she spoke to Chris. "And this was his revenge! What a petty little man!"
When Chris brought over coffee, milk, and sandwiches, he glanced at the phone screen, said nothing, and just shrugged.
He secretly sneered: Playing hard to get? This noble Hou Jue, this talented painter, thought he could fool his eyes?
He was a professional actor, and this Hou Jue's acting was simply too clumsy.
Yang Yi checked the time; it was 7:25 AM in Xia Country, which was also just past 4 PM in Aka Country.
Yesterday, to resist the gaze of the Evil God, her body had been destroyed. She had been forced to use the abilities of the Reproductive Race to restore her body, suffering a double blow to both spirit and flesh. She was too exhausted and had rested for "one night" at Chris's house.
She looked at the "breakfast" Chris had prepared for her and suddenly said, "How about we go on a date today?"
"Your work?" Chris was surprised at first, then became a bit worried.
Yang Yi explained as if complaining, "To hell with work! Since becoming a civil servant, I've been working every single day without a single day off! Even Saturdays and Sundays were spent working overtime! This isn't quite what was promised..."
Although she seemed dissatisfied because of the holiday, she knew deep down she just wanted to "compensate" Chris for yesterday's events.
She sent a message to Director Zhou, stating that she wanted to take a day off.
After receiving the message, Director Zhou felt worried, suspecting it might be related to the pause during her speech on stage yesterday. He immediately called to ask questions in a roundabout way.
Yang Yi dispelled his worries. "I'm fine, I just want to rest. Since I started working, I haven't taken a single day off." She spoke the last few words one by one, deliberately. Suddenly, she remembered the twenty-something days she had spent stranded in Britain—did that count as rest? Immediately, she felt guilty and swallowed the rest of her sentence.
Director Zhou laughed heartily and told her to relax for a few days. But Yang Yi still added, "If anything important comes up, notify me immediately."
"Don't worry. Although the Class-A mutated creatures that escaped to Earth are restless, they haven't caused large-scale damage yet. Besides, our Class-A and Class-B Awakened ones need training too. We can't let you solve everything every time something happens; they need to grow as well."
After hanging up the phone, Yang Yi felt a bit lost. Suddenly having free time, she actually found it hard to adapt.
Just a few days ago, she felt there was a huge pile of work waiting for her. In the blink of an eye, she was suddenly free. It seemed like she wasn't that important after all. Thinking this, she actually sighed with relief. The pressure on her shoulders lightened a bit. It seemed being an inconsequential person was more joyful than being the "God of Humanity."
"Today, I am Yang Yi, an ordinary person," she said as she came into the hallway and hugged Chris from behind, smiling. "And also the girlfriend of the big star Chris Norton. So, what do normal couples do on dates here?"
To avoid suspicion, Chris had automatically stepped away when she was on the phone with her colleagues. Sometimes he was so considerate that it became heartbreaking. He probably hadn't done this for anyone else.
Chris turned around. "Darling, what do you want to do?"
Yang Yi thought for a moment, hesitating a bit. "... I don't know... When I used to watch your Aka Country movies, I was very envious. How cool it would be to drive a sports car and go crazy shopping like the female lead... But now that I think about it, it's actually quite childish..."
"I don't think so." Chris couldn't help but laugh, pulled her up, and said, "Let's go!"
##
Sitting in Chris's black sports car, Yang Yi carefully examined her face in the rearview mirror. "Are you sure it doesn't look like me now? This face feels a bit weird. I feel like something is slightly off..."
Reshaping a face is a technical skill! She truly envied those people in movies who could transform. Turning into someone else instantly seemed so simple. She had stared at the mirror for ages, barely managing to align her facial features, and the terrifying effect in between had even scared Chris.
"People absolutely won't recognize you. Even your race has changed! They won't associate you with her... But, it might feel a bit awkward when I kiss you. I feel like I'm cheating."
Chris looked at that unfamiliar face from behind his sunglasses. Black hair, black eyes, but a high nose bridge and sunken eye sockets. She seemed like a mix of Anglo-Saxon and Mongoloid races, and also a bit like a Latin race. This was his suggestion. After all, if an Asian woman suddenly appeared by his side looking so intimate, it would easily lead people to think certain things. Better to change even her race so it wouldn't be linked to Yang Yi; it would just count as entertainment gossip for a star.
Yang Yi froze, triggered by a certain word in his speech. It stirred up some unspeakable little hobbies from the past, like browsing a novel website named after a flower. Various strange keywords bounced around in her brain like popping candy, unable to stop.
The corners of her mouth couldn't help but curl up. She raised an eyebrow at him. "Isn't that even more exciting?"
