Chapter 90: Painful Tang Yun
"Wife? I don't understand what you're talking about..."
Lin Xiyue's heart was completely broken. She released Tang Yun's hand and staggered back a few steps, tears blurring her vision.
In the live stream room, there was silence, leaving only a full screen of ellipses...
"Tang Yun... do you really... not remember me?" Lin Xiyue choked, her voice trembling violently. She reached out, wanting to touch Tang Yun's face, but stopped in mid-air, as if afraid of disturbing some precious and fragile treasure.
Tang Yun looked at her, his eyes blank, as if looking at a stranger. "I don't know you... my head hurts so much... I can't remember anything..." He frowned in pain, clutching his head with both hands, his body trembling slightly.
The audience in the live stream room could no longer hold back, and the barrage emerged like a bursting dam.
"Holy crap! What's the situation? Did the streamer really lose his memory?"
"This is too abusive! My Xiyue goddess!"
"Screenwriter, come out! I want to send you a blade!"
"This plot reversal is too fast, I can't accept it..."
"Is this the legendary... grand finale?"
The Holy Son frowned, looking at the painful Tang Yun, his heart filled with worry.
"Tang Yun, calm down, take a deep breath, try to think..."
Tang Yun raised his head, looking at the Holy Son with empty eyes, "Who are you? I... why am I here?"
The Holy Son took a deep breath, suppressing the unease in his heart, and said in as calm a tone as possible: "I am the Holy Son, your friend. We have experienced many things together..."
"Friend? Experienced many things together?" Tang Yun repeated the Holy Son's words, a flash of confusion in his eyes, "But... I can't remember anything..."
Lin Xiyue could no longer hold back, she rushed forward, hugged Tang Yun tightly, and tears rolled down like broken pearls.
"Tang Yun, you must remember! We have experienced so much together, how can you forget? You promised me that you would always be by my side..."
Tang Yun's body stiffened, a flash of struggle in his eyes, but he soon returned to emptiness. "Let go of me... I don't know you..."
Lin Xiyue cried even harder, "Tang Yun, look at me! I am Xiyue, your Xiyue! Do you really not remember me?"
Tang Yun looked at her with empty eyes, without speaking or any reaction.
"Tang Yun..." Lin Xiyue let go in despair, took a few steps back, and collapsed powerlessly onto the ground. Her heart felt as if it had been hollowed out—empty and filled with despair.
Just then, something fell out of Tang Yun's pocket and landed on the ground with a crisp sound.
It was a paper crane, a paper crane folded from light blue letter paper.
Lin Xiyue was stunned for a moment, then as if remembering something, she rushed over and picked up the paper crane on the ground.
On the wings of the paper crane, two lines of delicate small characters were written:
"May you return safely."
"Always love you, Xiyue."
Lin Xiyue touched the handwriting on the paper crane tremblingly, and tears blurred her vision again.
This was the paper crane she had folded with her own hands. Before Tang Yun left, she had handed it to him personally, hoping it could bless him to return safely.
Tang Yun's gaze fell on the paper crane in Lin Xiyue's hand, and a flash of imperceptible fluctuation appeared in his eyes. He slowly reached out, wanting to touch the wings of the paper crane.
"Tang Yun..." Lin Xiyue raised her head, looking at him with teary eyes.
Tang Yun's fingers gently touched the wings of the paper crane, and an inexplicable sense of familiarity surged in his heart.
Vague scenes flashed in his mind, some scattered fragments, some warm memories...
His fingers trembled slightly, as if wanting to grab something, but he couldn't grab anything.
"I... I seem to..." Tang Yun's voice was a bit hoarse, a flash of struggle in his eyes, "I seem to..."
Suddenly, he clutched his head in pain and let out a heart-piercing scream.
"Ah—"
The audience in the live stream room were all stunned, not knowing what had happened.
"Streamer! What's wrong with you?"
"What happened?"
"Call a doctor quickly!"
Lin Xiyue held the paper crane tightly, her heart filled with worry and fear.
Tang Yun struggled painfully, his body trembling violently, as if something was about to break out of his body.
His eyes slowly turned blood-red, emitting an eerie light.
"I... am..." Tang Yun's voice became hoarse and low, like a demon from hell, "I... am..."
His voice stopped abruptly, and his body fell to the ground stiffly.
"I... am... Chaos Child!" Tang Yun's body twitched, and blood-red light circled around him, forming an eerie halo.
His skin began to crack, revealing dark red patterns underneath, like magma flowing in his blood vessels.
Lin Xiyue widened her eyes in terror, the paper crane in her hand falling to the ground.
She wanted to reach out to help Tang Yun, but didn't dare to get close, and could only watch him twist and deform in pain.
The barrage in the live stream room exploded instantly.
"Holy crap! What's the situation? Did the streamer mutate?"
"These special effects are awesome! Is this a trailer for a movie?"
"Scared the hell out of me! What the hell is this?"
"Is the streamer possessed?"
A cold voice suddenly rang in the live stream room, carrying a metallic texture, echoing in everyone's eardrums.
"Universe reset countdown: 23 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds."
The live stream screen switched suddenly, and a giant hourglass appeared in the center of the screen, with golden sand grains flowing slowly.
Below the hourglass, a blurred figure gradually became clear. It was a person wearing a black robe whose face could not be seen clearly. He held a scepter high, and a gem emitting a ghostly blue light was embedded at the top of the scepter.
"I am the Chaos Referee," the figure spoke slowly, his voice low and majestic, "The fate of the multiverse will be decided by you, Tang Yun."
Tang Yun's body stopped twitching, he slowly raised his head, staring at the Chaos Referee in the live stream screen, a weird smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.
"Decide? My decision is destruction!"
Lin Xiyue cried out in despair: "Tang Yun! Wake up! You're not like this!"
But Tang Yun seemed not to hear her words, his body continuing to undergo terrible changes.
His bones made a crackling sound, his body size expanded rapidly, and the cracks on his skin became deeper and deeper, with dark red patterns squirming like living things.
"All 'Tang Yuns' in parallel universes have disappeared," the Chaos Referee's voice was like a bell of judgment, "You are the last one. The chaos power in your body is enough to destroy the entire multiverse, or you can let the main universe be the only survivor."
The Chaos Referee's scepter pointed at Tang Yun, "Choose, Tang Yun. Retain the multiverse, or let the main universe be the only one." ===== CHAPTER 91 =====
