Chapter 397: Mind Full of Urges to Do

~8 min read 1,407 words

Jiang Lai was woken by heat, as if she were in a small furnace, her hands and feet bound.

She opened her eyes, and what came into view was Ke Zhongyu.

Ke Zhongyu's hand rested on her waist.

Ke Zhongyu's leg pressed against her leg.

Below her neck was also Ke Zhongyu's hand.

No wonder she couldn't run in her dream last night, it felt like being pressed down by a ghost.

Jiang Lai gently pushed him and called, "Ke Zhongyu."

Ke Zhongyu murmured an indistinct "uh."

"It's time to get up." She reached under the pillow and pulled out her phone; it was already nine in the morning.

She had really slept for a long time.

"Ke Zhongyu, it's nine o'clock."

"Hmm." Ke Zhongyu slowly opened his eyes; the sleepy look lost its usual sharpness, gaining a touch of laziness and a habit of lingering in bed.

Seeing Jiang Lai about to get up, he swept his big arm around her, pressed her into his embrace, held her tight, and said, "Sleep a little longer."

He was completely different from his usual calm and steady demeanor.

Jiang Lai looked at him, amused.

Ke Zhongyu kissed her hair, suddenly understanding why Ke Zhongying loved sleeping in; he indeed felt great inside.

"I can't sleep." Jiang Lai nestled in his arms without moving, unable to stop recalling scene after scene from last night; she suddenly reached up to touch her neck, where another mark remained.

Ke Zhongyu, half-lidded, said, "No trace left; everyone knows you're mine."

Including Shen Xun and Xie Yongsi, who had followed her last night.

Jiang Lai lifted her gaze toward him.

Ke Zhongyu: "Everyone knows I'm yours."

Jiang Lai reached out to touch his face; when her fingers reached his chin, Ke Zhongyu moved it aside, telling her, "It's prickly; wait while I shave."

So that Jiang Lai could touch his chin without getting pricked, he got up, his upper body bare, his waist lean, thin muscles, broad shoulders, and slipped on a black mock turtleneck, which added to his charm.

Jiang Lai hastily withdrew her gaze, and as she turned, she suddenly inhaled a cool breath.

"What's wrong?" Ke Zhongyu quickly looked at her.

Her shirt was already on; Jiang Lai looked at him and shook her head: "No."

Ke Zhongyu seemed half-believing, half-doubting.

He went to the other side of the bed, bent over, picked up Jiang Lai, let her sit on the bedside, and said, "Wait a moment."

Jiang Lai watched him leave the bedroom, pick something up from the coffee table in the living room, and return, kneeling on one knee before her.

In the man's palm was a tube of ointment.

"May I look at your leg?"

Jiang Lai placed both hands on her knees; hearing Ke Zhongyu's request, she pressed her legs together tighter, her face warming, not knowing if it had turned red.

Awkward.

Ke Zhongyu: "Why weren't you this self-aware last night?"

Jiang Lai reached out to cover his mouth, eyes narrowing slightly: "Can you restrain yourself?"

Ke Zhongyu smiled: "Sure."

He gazed earnestly at Jiang Lai; she then released her grip, and under his pleading look, she slowly parted her legs a little.

Her outer coat hung on the coat rack, her inner clothes washed last night and now airing out; what she wore now was a casual slip dress she'd grabbed from her luggage.

Ke Zhongyu again signaled with his eyes for her to lift the hem; Jiang Lai slowly raised it, gathering it above her thigh, finally exposing the reddened inner thigh.

Rubbed raw.

Fortunately it had moistened soon enough, so the skin didn't break.

Ke Zhongyu still frowned, then lowered his head and kissed her before applying the ointment.

Jiang Lai had never seen such a scene, especially in broad daylight; she was startled, her legs almost clamping around his head, and she frantically pushed him away.

"Ke Zhongyu, restrain yourself!"

This time her face visibly turned red.

Ke Zhongyu: "It's fine, no one saw."

He squeezed out some white ointment, gently rubbed it with his finger on the reddened spot; it was cool and indeed eased Jiang Lai's internal heat.

Jiang Lai gradually calmed down, while Ke Zhongyu became agitated.

Their reactions couldn't be faked.

The two silently locked eyes.

Ke Zhongyu gave a light cough: "It's hard to return to being human after acting like a beast."

Jiang Lai didn't dare listen to his words, quickly changing the subject: "When did you buy the medicine?"

Ke Zhongyu: "I bought it this morning at the pharmacy."

On the way, he chased away two mosquitoes.

After applying the ointment, Jiang Lai immediately wanted to lower her skirt, but Ke Zhongyu told her to wait a bit longer, lest she smear off the medicine.

Jiang Lai sat quietly on the bedside, a little dazed, because Ke Zhongyu's antics last night had diverted her attention from yesterday's events.

Of course, she had actively returned his kiss last night and tacitly accepted what would follow; in fact, she also wanted to use physical stimulation to cover up certain discomforts.

That wasn't covering up at all.

Ke Zhongyu had squeezed out all that discomfort of hers.

Jiang Lai came to her senses, watching Ke Zhongyu enter the bathroom; when he emerged, his beard had been shaved, and he pulled her hand over to feel it.

Does it hurt?

Jiang Lai shook her head: "It doesn't hurt."

Ke Zhongyu looked at her legs, the white ointment had already melted in, he bent over and picked her up: "You can go wash up."

Jiang Lai was picked up sideways, she froze for a moment: "I can walk."

Ke Zhongyu: "If you walk, you'll bump into it and it'll hurt again."

He held Jiang Lai and came to the bathroom; in front of the sink was a fluffy carpet, Jiang Lai stepped on it barefoot, and Ke Zhongyu reminded: "Spread your legs a little, don't rub it again."

Jiang Lai gave him a sideways glance.

Who's to blame?

Ke Zhongyu chuckled lightly: "Blame me."

The two brushed their teeth facing the mirror.

When Jiang Lai washed her face, her hair kept falling down; the hairstyle she did yesterday had already come undone on the bed.

She looked around; there was no hair tie here.

"What do you need?"

"For tying hair." Jiang Lai looked at him and said, "My hair keeps falling, it's inconvenient to wash my face; without a hair tie, a pen or chopsticks will do."

Ke Zhongyu brought in a clean pair of chopsticks, he watched as Jiang Lai stuck the chopsticks into her hair and twisted a few times, and her hair was coiled up.

The makeup on her face wasn't removed last night; luckily it wasn't heavy, now washing with facial cleanser makes it clean.

Ke Zhongyu kept watching her from the side.

Jiang Lai wondered: "What's wrong?"

Ke Zhongyu: "Just looking at you."

Jiang Lai withdrew her gaze and looked at the mirror; the reflection of Ke Zhongyu in the mirror was still looking at her.

"What's there to look at?"

Ke Zhongyu: "Am I seeing too little?"

Jiang Lai: "No."

Ke Zhongyu saw she had finished washing, then he held her and sat her back on the bed, looking at her luggage and said: "What are you wearing today?"

Jiang Lai: "Pants, loose ones."

Ke Zhongyu squatted in front of her luggage: "Can I rummage through it?"

Jiang Lai was speechless: "Your hand is already in there."

At this moment Ke Zhongyu really felt that Jiang Lai had gotten much closer to him; he curled his lip, found her a loose, comfortable beige pair of pants, and also fetched a turtleneck sweater, which he had seen her wear before.

After handing over the whole set, he turned and left the bedroom.

Jiang Lai finished changing and came out; Ke Zhongyu was arranging the delivered breakfast, greeting her to come sit; just as she sat down opposite him, he couldn't help but lower his head and kiss her face.

Feeling that one kiss wasn't enough, he pinched her chin, forcing her to slightly turn her head and lift her chin, and kissed her lips.

Jiang Lai: "……"

"Ke Zhongyu, you……"

"I can't restrain myself." Ke Zhongyu answered prophetically; after succeeding in pushing his luck last night, as soon as Jiang Lai leans against him, his mind is full of thoughts of doing it.
