Chapter 159: My Secret with Mom
Just as she put down her phone, Lu Xiwán received a call from Si Jiuyin.
"I'll send someone to protect you right now. Where are you? Don't run around!"
Si Jiuyin blurted out those words straight away, and Lu Xiwán was left stunned.
"Wait, let's speak one sentence at a time. You've made it so I don't know how to answer."
Si Jiuyin had just finished training and was still panting heavily, "I don't know what's wrong either; everyone keeps saying... I thought I'd protect you first, then talk."
Si Jiuyin was about to contact her family, but Lu Xiwán stopped her abruptly.
"I'm tired of explaining. Though many are berating me online now, the time hasn't reached the level you think yet, and I'm still safe. Did you forget where I live?"
Lu Xiwán was certain that Hengshan Gongguan was the safest place in all of Haicheng.
Si Jiuyin's worries were unnecessary.
"You scared me to death; I was afraid you wouldn't answer my call."
The online criticism was so harsh that Si Jiuyin wondered if they were all talking about the same Lu Xiwán.
"Stop worrying about me. When will you finally come down from the mountain?" Lu Xiwán changed the subject at the right moment.
The troops, to ensure their training, had even set up their training camp on the mountain.
Si Jiuyin didn't have much downtime; she couldn't waste it all on these meaningless matters.
"It'll still be a week. I'm heading to training first!"
Less than ten minutes into the break, the assembly whistle sounded, and Lu Xiwán arrived at Hengshan Gongguan.
The next few days passed peacefully, and Lu Xiwán developed a new hobby.
Eating her own gossip online.
She could always find something interesting, each story told as if it were real, leaving the netizens below bewildered, and even Lu Xiwán herself began to think she had done those things herself.
But she couldn't stay cooped up at home forever; when the Fu Clan had business, Lu Xiwán still had to go out and pick up the children herself.
Fully armed, Lu Xiwán slipped out stealthily; as soon as she reached the kindergarten gate, she saw a group of reporters even more cautious than she was, lurking at the entrance.
It seemed that because Fu Sijue had personally come to pick up the children a few times, the reporters dared not appear, hiding cautiously in the corner.
Lu Xiwán sighed, wondering why it had to be so troublesome.
Despite countless calculations, Lu Xiwán missed one detail: Lu Xixi and Yao Yao weren't wearing masks, so the lurking paparazzi, upon seeing familiar faces, rushed straight toward them.
"Someone's here!"
"After waiting so long, we finally got them!"
Even through the thick crowd, Lu Xiwán could feel the heavy Killing Aura emanating from them.
"Run faster!" Lu Xiwán shouted, quickly leading the two children toward the parking lot.
But it was rush hour; the crowd surged, scattering the three of them in an instant.
Lu Xiwán stood aside, anxiously searching for the children; seizing the chance, the paparazzi chased after and surrounded her.
"Miss Xi, may I ask why you keep refusing our interview?"
"Is the information online really true? Could you answer our questions?"
Lu Xiwán, surrounded in the middle, couldn't see the outside; her frantic demeanor only excited the paparazzi more.
"Miss Xi, may I ask why you keep dodging?"
"Your child is missing and you're not worried?"
