Chapter 190: If You Don't Trust Her, Who Do You Trust?

~4 min read 607 words

Lu Xiwán's smiling eyes curved, and she lightly clapped her hands.

"They'll definitely like it. President Fu, shall we go together to take a look?"

Since Yun Ruojin first approached her, Lu Xiwán had guessed it.

She could never be the type to give up easily.

If she failed once, Yun Ruojin would certainly have a backup plan.

"Putting a camera on my own desk shouldn't be excessive," Lu Xiwán said, unable to hold back her laugh.

Yun Ruojin probably didn't expect her to use such a simple method.

Fu Sijue seemed not to understand, still furrowing his brows, "The camera feed might have been deleted by them."

"President Fu wouldn't think I'm a fool, would he? I installed a tiny camera on the flower pot."

It happens to give a clear view of her desk.

Fu Sijue nodded appreciatively, "Quite clever."

Much smarter than before.

Fortunately, it's not the Lu Xiwán who was bullied by Gu Qingmeng and stayed silent.

"It's time to go inspect the results; President Fu, could you take me there?"

Fu Sijue didn't refuse; without a word, he led her to Haicheng Technology.

The office was silent and empty, with no one inside.

Sang Hongfang had sent everyone back; outside the door it seemed someone had just caused a ruckus, leaving a mess.

The former glorious scene was gone, and Lu Xiwán felt a sigh of melancholy as she looked.

Tang Yi lifted her head from the computer; her eyes were a dark teal, and the corners of her mouth drooped.

She and Sang Hongfang had been searching for data all night together, and still dared not stop.

"If you can't find it, never mind; don't make it hard on yourself," Lu Xiwán placed a bottle of water in front of her and gave a faint smile.

"It's rare for this place to be so quiet."

Her gaze swept over the workstations in the office, and Lu Xiwán let out a sigh.

Tang Yi lowered her head, "I... I can't do it."

She typed and deleted those words repeatedly, but in the end couldn't send them.

"It's okay, I'll do it."

Lu Xiwán returned to her seat, gently shifted the flower pot, revealing the hidden camera inside.

She finally exhaled, turned back and smiled at the two people behind her.

"Done."

Anyone daring enough to steal data inside the company must be extremely nervous, not even noticing the camera placed on the desk.

Lu Xiwán skillfully opened the computer, pulled up the footage, and found last night's recording.

"Watch it at your leisure."

In the early hours, a silhouette slipped silently into the office, furtively glancing around, and finally walked precisely to Lu Xiwán's desk.

Because it was dark, only a vague figure could be seen; Lu Xiwán frowned slightly.

The next second, the person crouched, and a face they knew all too well emerged.

Tang Yi gasped in surprise, and Lu Xiwán also tightened her grip.

"I didn't expect it to be her either."

Tang Yi couldn't utter a word, almost breaking into tears.

Lu Xiwán clipped that segment of video and sent it to Sang Hongfang, then shut down the computer.

"We should investigate further; I don't believe it's Aunt Liu," Tang Yi hurriedly called after Lu Xiwán.

Lu Xiwán steadied herself, calmly looking at Tang Yi.

"The evidence is right there; you should go back and rest."

Only Lu Xiwán knew about this camera; no one else did.

Lu Xiwán went home with Fu Sijue; Xi Xi and Yao Yao had already fallen asleep under their aunt's care.

Lu Xiwán was so exhausted that she collapsed onto the sofa.
