Chapter 217: That
Fu Sijue quickly saw Yao Yao's position and squeezed over with difficulty.
As soon as he reached them, before he could grab Yao Yao, he saw Lu Xixi being pushed and stumbling backward.
Behind her was a hard wall; Fu Sijue didn't have time to think, instantly placed a hand behind her head and, with the other hand, pulled hard, finally lifting the child up.
Without time for more words, Fu Sijue immediately scooped up the two little chubby tots and carried them out.
As they left, they happened to run into Lu Xiwán, who had come to pick up the children.
"Let's go out first, then talk."
Clearly Lu Xiwán hadn't expected Fu Sijue to be there, and without thinking further, followed him out.
"You didn't bump into anything just now, right?" Fu Sijue carefully examined Lu Xixi, making sure the child wasn't hurt, then let out a sigh of relief.
Lu Xiwán was bewildered, "What happened inside?"
Lu Xixi quickly explained, "It was our last activity period, so we were waiting in the courtyard, and there were too many people just now…"
Lu Xiwán looked down and finally saw a large abrasion on Fu Sijue's hand.
Lu Xixi also saw it, covering her mouth and gasping softly.
"Thank you, President Fu, for looking after Xi Xi. My place isn't far; let's go over and bandage her first."
After all, he was protecting his own child who got hurt, so Lu Xiwán hurriedly brought him to her home.
"It's nothing serious, just a scrape; it'll heal in a couple of days." Fu Sijue was indifferent to this, yet still followed Lu Xiwán inside.
Lu Xiwán furrowed her brows tightly and fetched the first‑aid kit from the house.
"It's summer now; if the wound isn't treated properly it will get inflamed. Don't disregard your own body."
Moreover, Fu Sijue's hands are truly handsome; out of a love for beauty, Lu Xiwán doesn't want him to be left with a scar.
Lu Xiwán lowered her eyes, patiently disinfecting and bandaging Fu Sijue; Fu Sijue saw her gaze filled with tenderness.
The atmosphere between them was undeniably ambiguous, and Lu Xixi led Yao Yao into the children's room.
"Were you worried about me just now?" Fu Sijue asked as if possessed, causing Lu Xiwán to pause mid‑bandage.
Then she mercilessly retorted to Fu Sijue, "You could say I'm a doctor too; it's normal to worry when someone gets hurt, so President Fu, don't overthink it. Moreover, you came because Xi Xi was injured, so I should thank you."
She explained all that, yet Fu Sijue didn't absorb a single word; his mind was only filled with her worrying about him.
"I won't neglect my own body ever again."
Listening to Fu Sijue's solemn words, Lu Xiwán felt a bit like laughing.
"Your body is yours; as for what President Fu does, that's none of my business."
"Then why did you bring me back for bandaging?"
Fu Sijue fell into self‑conflict, and Lu Xiwán simply turned a deaf ear to it.
She had already explained clearly enough.
"Now that the bandaging is done, President Fu should leave, right?"
Fu Sijue was clever this time, "I saved Xi Xi; shouldn't you treat me to a meal to thank me?"
Lu Xiwán was stunned; she never expected Fu Sijue to say something like that.
"I have a date today; next time, for sure."
"You're going out with Luo Zhou?" Fu Sijue instantly thought of it; he's always harbored hostility toward Luo Zhou, and hearing that made him restless.
Lu Xiwán put away the first‑aid kit, finally having time to answer.
"President Fu won't forget that I'm still dating Luo Zhou, right? Going out on a date is perfectly normal."
Lu Xiwán's words made Fu Sijue's heart feel as if pricked by needles.
"It's just a dinner out; bringing me and Yao Yao should be fine, and Luo Zhou probably won't mind such trivialities."
He insisted on going out with Lu Xiwán without further discussion.
Lu Xiwán blocked him, "President Fu, what exactly do you mean? Do you have to disrupt my normal life?"
