Chapter 248: They Won't Let Them Move You a Bit
Fu Sijue pushed his way out of the crowd and saw that mysterious woman again.
This time Fu Sijue didn't hesitate and went straight to Lu Xiwán's side.
He didn't want to miss the chance again; he just wanted to confirm his suspicion.
Fu Sijue, without a word, grabbed Lu Xiwán's wrist and led her to the corridor.
Lu Xiwán was frightened to a frenzy, her gaze wary as she looked at Fu Sijue.
"Is it you? Wanwan."
The events unfolded so quickly that Xi Xi and Yao Yao couldn't react, and Lu Xiwán was dragged away; the two could only watch from afar, not daring to approach.
Lu Xiwán closed her eyes; given the situation, she could only play dumb.
"What are you saying? I don't understand," Lu Xiwán said, her voice thick with dialect; Fu Sijue's face twitched slightly as he looked at her.
Feeling Fu Sijue's probing gaze, Lu Xiwán stepped back slightly.
"Why are you staring at me?" Lu Xiwán kept shielding her face with her hand, which only made Fu Sijue more suspicious.
"What are you afraid of? Afraid I'll discover your identity?"
Fu Sijue kept advancing, and Lu Xiwán was soon forced against the wall.
"I'm telling you, if you dare come at me again, I'll call you a rogue!" Lu Xiwán looked at Fu Sijue anxiously, her voice trembling.
But his behavior, in Fu Sijue's eyes, only made his motives more obvious.
Fu Sijue reached out, brushed Lu Xiwán's face, and without hesitation ripped off her mask.
Both were stunned.
Lu Xiwán, incredulous, touched her face, and tears quickly filled her eyes.
"What on earth are you doing? Now you can see my face..."
Lu Xiwán covered her face and sobbed, while Fu Sijue stared at her in disbelief.
A fierce scar marred her face, and with otherwise ordinary features, she bore no resemblance to Lu Xiwán.
The woman's wailing at his ear snapped Fu Sijue back to reality; he hurriedly shoved the mask back into his hand in panic.
"Sorry, I mistook you for someone else."
Fu Sijue also realized his mistake, felt embarrassed facing the crying woman, and after apologizing, strode away.
After a moment, a waiter came over and, with utmost respect, handed Lu Xiwán a towel.
"Mr. Fu says he is deeply sorry, please accept this money, and also this consumption card for all Fu Clan stores."
Lu Xiwán stared blankly at the tray before her, her eyes hazy as she met the waiter's probing gaze, and she forcefully slammed the tray onto the floor.
"I'm telling you, not everyone can be bought with money!"
After speaking, Lu Xiwán walked away without hesitation; from start to finish, the vulgar behavior had nothing to do with her.
Fu Sijue received the waiter's reply and stared deeply out the window.
Ji Suyun also came to his side, saying, "I heard your uncle, and I understand how you feel, but what you need now is clarity; the Fu Family also needs a clear-headed leader."
Fu Zhuo jabbered on for half a while, offering only a little useful information.
Fu Sijue met Ji Suyun's compassionate gaze and quickly concealed the sorrow in his eyes.
"I can't accept my Wanwan leaving, but I won't lose my sanity."
Fu Sijue dared not reveal his thoughts before anyone connected to the Fu Family, yet this outsider Ji Suyun somehow made him feel at ease.
Ji Suyun sighed, lightly patted his back, and then left.
