Chapter 256: All Your Fault
Fu Sijue felt a brief sourness, yet he had little to say.
This time it was his fault; he had hurt Lu Xiwán and the two children's hearts.
Fu Sijue reached out to touch Yao Yao, but Yao Yao dodged; he simply bypassed the two children and went straight out of the house.
"I can explain everything that has happened during this period; if you don't want to hear it now, I'll wait until you are ready to listen..."
Fu Sijue's words received no response; in the blink of an eye, even Xi Xi and Yao Yao had run away out of sight.
He felt as despondent as if falling into an abyss, able only to swallow his bitterness alone, and walked back in loneliness.
Soon Zhongyi Shu told Lu Xiwán that Fu Sijue had already left.
"Why don't you stay here? After such a long time, you're already used to it," Zhongyi Shu, reluctant to see Lu Xiwán go, kept urging.
Lu Xiwán merely smiled and shook her head, "I know you, elder, mean well, but I've already made plans; my family is in the United States, and if I have time, I will return to see you."
Her mind was made up, and Zhongyi Shu found it hard to persuade further.
He stepped out, but after a short while Zhongyi Shu returned, his hands laden with many parcels.
"These days with you have been joyful; here's the tea you brewed earlier, plus some snacks we made ourselves. I don't know when we'll meet again."
This place is merely a property of Xie Zian; Zhongyi Shu has spent half his life here. It's rare to have Yao Yao and Xi Xi, two little sprite‑ghosts, keeping him company, and he's been happier than ever during this time.
Lu Xiwán took the items from Zhongyi Shu's hands and gave him a faint smile.
"Thank you for always helping me."
Zhong Yun and Luozhou had learned in advance of Lu Xiwán's plan to return, so they came early in the morning to see her off.
"I still have some matters to finish here before I can go back; after you return to the United States, go straight to Master. I've already informed Master of the news."
Zhong Yun still felt very uneasy about Lu Xiwán, murmuring beside her ear.
In the end, Luozhou spoke up to rescue Lu Xiwán, "You've said so much; Wanwan, if you don't bother me I'm already bothered. We're both in our twenties, not kids—what are you still worrying about?"
Lu Xiwán helplessly agreed with them, but noticed Zhong Yun's gaze was somewhat odd.
"I know this child is close to you, but regardless, it's Fu Sijue's child. Are you really going to take this child back to the United States?"
Yao Yao lowered his head slightly; he also knew his presence would greatly trouble his mother.
Lu Xiwán hesitated for a moment, not knowing how to answer.
If possible, she would of course take Yao Yao away; leaving Yao Yao with Fu Sijue, who knows what might happen.
But the status is indeed a huge issue.
Yao Yao voluntarily let go of Lu Xiwán's hand, "Mom, you and Xi Xi go; I'll stay in the country."
His proactive release surprised everyone, and Zhong Yun's complexion shifted slightly.
"I don't mean that; if you want to leave with your mother, I can also find a way to help you get out."
Since learning about Yao Yao's background, even Zhong Yun began to feel compassion for him.
Yao Yao merely shook his head, "If Mom and I leave, Dad would worry. I'm sorry, Mom; I can't go with you."
Although his inner balance leaned infinitely toward Lu Xiwán, he also knew who was right and wrong.
