Chapter 359: Pay the Fee to Buy Sandbags
Chris's words made Si Jiuyin's face change, "What you promised me back then wasn't this!"
"Back then? I only promised to bring you the person; when did I say I'd hand them over to you?" Facing Si Jiuyin's questioning, Chris remained completely calm.
On his turf, he was fearless.
He casually stubbed out his cigarette, "Of course, if you're unwilling, we can refund the deposit right now."
Chris left no room for negotiation; to avoid angering him, Si Jiuyin had no choice but to reluctantly agree.
"Give me a room, and your people must not interfere." Si Jiuyin made her demand, and Chris agreed without hesitation.
Si Jiuyin roughly grabbed Lu Xiwan's arm and dragged her along to follow Chris.
347 stepped in front of her, and for a moment Lu Xiwan inexplicably felt moved.
Si Jiuyin spoke sharply, "What do you mean by this?"
Chris turned his head, looked at 347 with an indifferent expression, and said, "You go out first."
Si Jiuyin sized up 347 from head to toe, seemingly guessing his relationship with Lu Xiwan.
Had Lu Xiwan turned Chris's people against him? Si Jiuyin wondered to herself.
347 hesitated only a moment, then turned and left, while Chris continued leading the way ahead.
"I've already prepared the tools inside." Reaching the end of the hallway, Chris opened the door and gave Lu Xiwan a faint smile.
Lu Xiwan turned her head away, not looking at him; she wasn't a masochist, and she simply couldn't smile at Chris's face.
The room was pitch dark; Si Jiuyin shoved Lu Xiwan inside and slammed the door shut.
After the lights were turned on, Si Jiuyin sucked in a breath of cold air—the room had no windows, and the walls were neatly filled with torture devices, whips and ropes all present.
Even Si Jiuyin looked at Chris with new respect.
After a thorough check revealed no problems, she finally let out a sigh of relief.
Si Jiuyin pressed Lu Xiwan into a chair and then, for show, bound her hands and feet.
"Good thing you're unharmed—what kind of wolves and tigers do you have around you?"
Chris is not someone to provoke; just meeting him once led Si Jiuyin to that conclusion.
Lu Xiwan pursed her lips toward the door, "There must be his people watching outside."
After saying that, under Si Jiuyin's astonished gaze, Lu Xiwan strained her throat and let out several mournful wails, then waved at her.
"If you're going to act, you have to go all the way."
Lu Xiwan whispered mysteriously into Si Jiuyin's ear, "Based on my observations of them, the organization's top leader might be Chris's father, but we can't rule out someone above him."
Si Jiuyin nodded, but before she could speak, she heard Lu Xiwan wail again, even more horribly than the first time.
"Tell my master and A Jue that they came prepared. Also, Jiuyin, go investigate that woman named Qiana."
Lu Xiwan hasn't been here long either; that's all she knows for now.
Si Jiuyin nodded seriously, "What are you going to do?"
"You screamed so horribly just now, yet you have not a single wound—how could you possibly fool Chris?"
"Hand me the whip at the far edge."
Si Jiuyin didn't understand, but she believed Lu Xiwan would surely think of a solution.
Lu Xiwan examined the whip in her hand carefully, then said, "Whip me, but don't go too easy—otherwise there won't be any marks."
This was still the first time Si Jiuyin had heard such an unreasonable request; she looked at Lu Xiwan, hesitating greatly.
After all, she was her best friend—Si Jiuyin couldn't bring herself to strike.
Lu Xiwan gave a faint smile, "This whip's leather is soft; it won't hurt much when it hits."
Moreover, you wouldn't notice unless you looked closely; Chris probably hasn't used this room before, otherwise such a whip wouldn't be here.
This further confirmed Lu Xiwan's speculation.
"This isn't Chris's own house; he's probably just staying here temporarily."
Si Jiuyin nodded slightly, holding the whip and turning her face aside.
She couldn't bear to look at Lu Xiwan.
The whip struck her body; to make the wounds look worse, Si Jiuyin used a bit of force, leaving a burning pain where the whip landed.
Lu Xiwan didn't hold back either; her anguished cries were clearly audible outside the door.
347 stood with head lowered beside Chris, body tense, listening to the wails from the room.
Qiana came downstairs at some point, stood beside 347, and said, "She got off easy."
Chris turned to look at Qiana, "This is the employer's request; we just need to listen outside."
Qiana lazily lifted her eyelids, the corner of her mouth hinting at a smile, "If you feel so sorry for her, go in and let them release her; don't stand here arguing with me."
Chris frowned displeasedly, his gaze toward Qiana also mixed with impatience.
"My patience with you has its limits."
After a long while, Si Jiuyin finally emerged from the room, her forehead covered in beads of sweat; she casually tossed the whip she was holding onto the floor, and a faint scent of blood lingered in the air.
"She passed out," Si Jiuyin snorted disdainfully, "If she's so weak she can't take a beating and dies, that's not my problem."
As she brushed past Qiana, Qiana grabbed her arm, and Si Jiuyin instantly became alert.
Could she have discovered something?
"Thank you," Qiana said, quite satisfied; even though she couldn't move Lu Xiwan right now, just seeing her suffer made Qiana happy.
Chris came over, "This assignment is finished."
Meaning she no longer needs to come here.
Si Jiuyin wasn't so easily fooled either, "Oh, I'll renew the fee."
Chris fell silent; after so long in this line of work, it was the first time he'd heard such a strange request.
He stared at Si Jiuyin in silence, "What grudge do you have against her?"
Lu Xiwan was knocked out, and she still hasn't vented her anger?
Before Si Jiuyin could answer, Chris had 347 bring people in to take Lu Xiwan back to her room.
"I hate her, so I want to buy a Human Sandbag from you—is that not allowed?" Si Jiuyin said righteously, and without waiting for Chris to speak, she took out her phone and transferred the money, then walked straight to the door and got into the car that had been waiting there.
Qiana also rarely showed a smile on her face, "I think it's pretty good."
Not only did it satisfy the employer's request, it also fulfilled her wish, and Qiana was extremely happy.
Chris ignored her and went straight upstairs.
347 carried Lu Xiwan out, her white dress already stained with blood.
Qiana narrowed her eyes slightly, looking at Lu Xiwan with heartache, but 347 instinctively dodged her hand.
