Chapter 5: Did This Child Mistake Someone?
No! No way! A child as big as Fu Yao could possibly know anything!
Just as Gu Qingmeng's mind was in turmoil, a somewhat muffled baby voice suddenly sounded: "Auntie…"
Gu Qingmeng seemed to see a savior and said to Fu Yao, who was crawling up from the bed: "Yao Yao, come, go home with Mom…"
But Fu Yao's small hand clutched Lu Xiwán's hem, stared at Gu Qingmeng's open mouth, his little face grew even colder, and in the end he said nothing, merely sinking his face into Lu Xiwán's embrace.
Gu Qingmeng slightly opened her mouth, not yet grasping what Fu Yao had said, yet Lu Xiwán's expression combined with Fu Yao's appearance made her heart race, and she cooed softly:
"Yao Yao, I am your mother. If you don't go home with Mom, Daddy will worry. Do you want to make Daddy worry…"
The little one's eyelashes twitched, lips pressed tight, seeming to hesitate; Lu Xiwán asked gently, "Yao Yao, do you want to go back with her? You don't have to be afraid; whether you want to or not is up to you."
A moment later.
The little one in her arms gently shook his head.
Gu Qingmeng stared in disbelief at Fu Yao's actions; Lu Xiwán gave her a cold glance, then took Fu Yao and turned to leave.
She looked up and instructed the steward, "Butler Si, please see Miss Gu out; Fu Young Master probably has to stay at the Si family for a while."
Si Butler extended his hand toward Gu Qingmeng and said, "Miss Gu, please."
Gu Qingmeng clenched her fists, glared resentfully at Lu Xiwán and the White-eyed Wolf she was holding, and only then left reluctantly.
Lu Xiwán watched Fu Yao, who was following her step for step, her gaze flickering slightly.
The child, after being hypnotized, is unsettled; now it's best to distract his attention so he doesn't think about that woman Gu Qingmeng.
"Auntie." Seeing she still hadn't moved, the little one tilted his head and looked at her puzzled.
Lu Xiwán met those clear, innocent eyes, patted his head and said warmly, "Auntie is fine; Auntie will take you to play with your sister, okay?"
Fu Yao's cold little face flushed slightly, obediently nodded, and the corner of his mouth curled a little.
Mama Xi Xi's hand is truly warm.
The two walked toward the garden; upon arriving, Lu Xiwán waved and called her little daughter, Lu Xixi:
"Xi Xi, Mom brought a brother; he's called Yao Yao. Will you play together with the little brother?"
Lu Xixi hopped over, eyes widening in surprise at seeing Fu Yao; Fu Yao couldn't help feeling nervous—had Xi Xi recognized him as Cat Brother?
"Wow! Mom, is that the handsome brother from the paper?"
Yao Yao was startled; Lu Xixi already walked over with a smiling face, took his hand, and whispered softly, "Brother Yao Yao, I'm telling you secretly—I saw you before on the paper Aunt Si Jiuyin gave Mom!"
Yao Yao silently breathed a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, little sister Xi Xi didn't recognize him; if she knew he was Cat Brother, she certainly wouldn't idolize the all‑powerful Cat Brother as before.
But.
He turned his head, watching Xi Xi hopping around gathering treasures for him, his lips curling slightly.
Little Xi Xi really is just like the one online—so cute.
Lu Xiwán saw the faint, almost invisible smile on Yao Yao's face and couldn't help but curve her own lips.
Meanwhile.
Having been politely escorted out of the Si family by Si Butler, Gu Qingmeng stomped her foot outside in anger; after all, she is the biological mother of the next heir of the Fu family, the future Mrs. Fu, and a lowly Hypnotist—how dare they treat her this way.
A trace of resentment flashed in Gu Qingmeng's eyes; she took out her phone, dialed Fu Sijue, and as soon as the call connected, she burst into a plaintive, hurtful complaint:
"Brother SiJue, Yao Yao seems to have been hypnotized by that Hypnotist the Si family hired; now he refuses to go home with me, and the Si family even drove me out. That Xuanshui won't do anything to our child, will he…"
Fu Sijue's brows furrowed deeper as he listened; Xuanshui is the world's most renowned Hypnotist, reputed to wield Hypnosis with unparalleled skill, having assisted many police officers and rescued numerous patients with mental issues—how could they commit such a deed?
A hint of disgust flickered in Fu Sijue's eyes.
Listening to Gu Qingmeng's lament, he squinted and said, "Alright, stop crying. In a while I'll bring Yao Yao back. If they really tampered with him, I won't let them get away."
…
In the Si family's small garden.
Si Jiuyin, having heard the whole story, twisted her slender eyebrows, then sighed, "I never expected Gu Qingmeng to be such a person…"
She massaged her temples and suddenly felt a headache: "But this child staying with us is still unsuitable…"
Lu Xiwán hesitated, "How about we send him to Master Fu then…"
Master Fu has always dismissed Gu Qingmeng; with him around, Yao Yao should be better off.
Yet as soon as she finished speaking, Yao Yao, who had been playing in the corner, rushed over, clinging to her thigh and looking up with a pitiful, cool little face: "Mommy…"
Lu Xiwán was startled—this child must have mistaken someone.
