Chapter 50: No Rest Even in Death

~4 min read 752 words

"I will seriously consider your suggestion," Fu Sijue nodded, reluctantly accepting Lu Xiwán's suggestion.

Lu Xiwán, without thinking, rejected Fu Sijue, "If you only briefly care about Yao Yao because of a single word of mine, then I think you'd be better off not caring.

You don't need to consider it either; the one who needs company is not Xi Xi, Yao Yao is just my patient."

How can someone who has felt sunlight still accept a cold world? Yao Yao is still just a child; this would be too cruel for him.

"As Yao Yao's Psychologist and Xi Xi's mother, I have one final piece of advice for Mr. Fu: a child's upbringing crucially depends on the family's companionship. As Yao Yao's father, having missed this period, you will never be able to make up for it in this lifetime."

To put it bluntly, Fu Sijue is irresponsible; Lu Xiwán's words are already as tactful as possible.

Lu Xiwán didn't even give Fu Sijue a chance to respond; after speaking, she stood up and briskly went upstairs.

He could figure it out on his own; Fu Sijue is not a dull-witted person.

Although during Lu Xiwán's stay, Fu Sijue spent little time with Fu Yao, according to her understanding, he still dotes on Yao Yao.

The next day was Sunday.

Lu Xiwán wanted to take the child out to bask in the sun, and when she went downstairs she saw Gu Qingmeng sitting in the Living Room waiting.

When she appeared, Gu Qingmeng immediately stood up.

She seemed rather restrained, evasively saying to Lu Xiwán, "Xi Wan, I have something to discuss with you."

"I have nothing to say to Miss Gu; whatever you need to say, you should say it to Mr. Fu."

Lu Xiwán, holding Yao Yao, walked straight past Gu Qingmeng.

With a person like this, saying even one more word is a waste of life.

Gu Qingmeng, left hanging aside, felt a surge of resentment, and her expression instantly took on a few more ferocious hints.

She wanted to lose her temper, to ask Lu Xiwán why she was pretending to be aloof here.

But she couldn't.

Ever since the Gu parents went to see Fu Sijue last time, no matter how much she caused a ruckus at home, she hasn't received any news about Fu Sijue.

And the person she sent to deliver a message to Fu Sijue only came back with one sentence: apologize to Xi Wan.

She doesn't dare to cause trouble again; she's afraid Fu Sijue truly will ignore her.

Filled with resentment, she stayed up all night and early in the morning rushed to the Fu Family to apologize to Xi Wan.

What she met, however, was a completely indifferent cold face.

Gu Qingmeng clenched her fists, gritted her teeth in anger, yet had to force herself to speak to Xi Wan in the softest tone.

"I really have something to discuss with you; just give me two minutes."

From the stairs came a steady footstep.

Lu Xiwán looked up and nodded, "Mr. Fu has already come down; you can just speak with Mr. Fu."

The lesson she gave Lu Xiwán last time was already enough; Lu Xiwán doesn't want to be falsely accused again.

Fu Sijue calmly walked to the edge of the sofa, and Lu Xiwán naturally handed him a glass of water.

Only after handing it over did Lu Xiwán suddenly realize that the person sitting beside her was Fu Sijue.

Lu Xiwán turned her head to glance at Fu Sijue's expression; he remained as calm as ever, showing no emotion at all.

Not knowing what more Gu Qingmeng intended to do, Lu Xiwán simply took out her phone and started messaging Xi Xi.

"I'm sorry, it was my muddle that made me try to pin the blame on you."

"This time I indeed was at fault, and I hope you can forgive me."

Gu Qingmeng lowered her head and spoke at length, her face turning as red as a monkey's butt.

If it weren't for wanting to return to the Fu Family, Gu Qingmeng wouldn't be apologizing so meekly.

Not hearing Lu Xiwán's voice, Gu Qingmeng naturally assumed she still hadn't forgiven her, and thus she performed even more earnestly.

"I really was just momentarily misguided; you're so kind, you surely won't mind, right?"

"Xi Wan, whether you want to hit or scold me, it's fine; please, can you at least say something?"

"I really know I'm wrong!"
