Chapter 66: President Fu, Do You Really Want to Know What I Look Like?

~4 min read 766 words

Had we known Fu Sijue was this alert, they shouldn't have taken the risk.

As soon as he finished speaking, Fu Sijue and Xie Zian walked in and sat opposite them without any courtesy.

Lu Xiwán's expression remained unchanged, calmly looking at her phone.

"Finally found you, Wanwan, we met last time," Xie Zian said, his gaze fixed on Lu Xiwán.

"Professor Xie, I've long admired your reputation."

After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Lu Xiwán had no desire to speak any more, leaning back in her chair with her eyes closed to rest.

"Wanwan, is that you?" Fu Sijue asked in a hoarse voice, a hint of excitement flashing in his eyes.

Lu Xiwán lazily opened her eyes and naturally met Fu Sijue's gaze for a moment.

"What is Mr. Fu saying?" This reaction left them unable to find any flaw, and Xie Zian was a little unable to hold back.

Fu Sijue's sudden question threw his original plan into disarray.

The usually steady person was unexpectedly so impatient this time!

"Could you take off your mask so we can have a look? You look a lot like a friend I've been searching for a long time," Xie Zian said helplessly, smoothing over the situation for Fu Sijue, his tone gentle as he asked Lu Xiwán.

As he spoke, his gaze fixed on the person before him without blinking, fearing he might miss any subtle expression on her face.

Unfortunately, Lu Xiwán's expression remained unchanged; meeting his stare, she showed no hint of insecurity, only a touch of puzzlement.

"I don't know what you mean, and I don't know any Wanwan either."

Every expression and movement of hers was normal.

But Fu Sijue, looking at her, felt that familiar sensation grow stronger, as if a voice deep in his mind kept shouting.

It's her!

She is Wanwan.

Wanwan has returned...

After a brief silence, Fu Sijue lifted his head again, his gaze razor‑sharp as if he could see through Lu Xiwán in an instant, "Why won't you let us see? What are you afraid of?"

Lu Xiwán lowered her eyes to glance at her watch, "I have to go to the competition, excuse me."

After saying that, Lu Xiwán stood up and left immediately, not lingering a moment on them with her gaze.

The semifinals still had no set theme, allowing the contestants to improvise freely.

Lu Xiwán looked up and met Fu Sijue, who was seated in the audience; their gazes collided in the air.

A sarcastic smile curled her lips, and she lowered her head in an instant to dodge his aggressively charged stare.

The countdown began, and all the designers focused intently on their work.

Lu Xiwán had already conceived the design for this competition long ago, but she suddenly changed her mind.

She looked up again, gazing far over the audience, and the hatred in Lu Xiwán's heart surged like a flood, bearing destructive, world‑shaking force.

A new design draft gradually took shape under Lu Xiwán's hand, its outline emerging through continuous sketching.

When the countdown ended, Lu Xiwán stopped drawing and looked at the draft with satisfaction.

The design draft was transmitted via computer terminal to the big screen for the judges to critique.

"Next, please have contestant number five, Wanwan, introduce your design draft."

The host handed the microphone to the fully armed Lu Xiwán.

"The legendary Divine Phoenix, five hundred years old, gathers fragrant wood and self‑immolates, then is reborn from the ashes, never truly dying. My inspiration comes from—Phoenix Nirvana."

Lu Xiwán squinted slightly as she looked at the draft on the big screen, seeing another version of herself within it.

The story struck Fu Sijue's heart like a heavy hammer, brutally punching a huge hole.

Judge Xie Zian on the panel was also startled, his heart missing a beat.

With such obvious direction, they almost instantly thought of Lu Xiwán.

No matter how you listened, it sounded like it was describing her.

After all the designs were shown, the judges' scoring period coincided with a break for the designers.

Fu Sijue, without pausing, chased into the backstage, found that familiar silhouette among the crowd, grabbed her wrist and led her to a corner.

"Wanwan, why have you been avoiding me?"

He removed her mask before she could protest, and the next second he was stunned.

It was a scar‑covered face, especially fierce on the woman's pale skin.

"President Fu, is that all you want to know what I look like?" The woman calmly took the mask back from the stunned Fu Sijue and put it on.
